I really love the features of this car - sunroof, 360 degree camera, and the turbo engine. I will definitely consider this car next year when we upgrade despite all the haters here that appear to be just trolls. Haters here are saying this is a chinese rebranded car. They don't even know that VIOS is also manufactured in China with Toyota partnering also with SAIC (China state owned co.) and so with Volvo and Volkswagen, etc. I dont't like that Chevy is partnering with CCP on this though because I really hate the bullying of China on the Philippines but I just really love the car. Sorry to disagree. It is the weakest among MPV chinese counterparts since this is a Wuling Almaz. JAC JS8 Plus is 182HP 300Nm, Changan X7 Plus is 176HP 300Nm, M6 Pro is 176HP 270Nm, Geely Okavango is 190Hp 300Nm. It is about even if matched vs Custin or Innova. Its only advantage is when compared to other regional MPVs (modern AUV if you prefer) like Ertiga, Livina, BR-V, Stargazer, Xpander and that's it. It has poor trunk size too at 117L.

There are no doubt way better mpv options at this price point with better features and technologies and from what ive browsed the captiva would be the most expensive mpv when it comes to the top of the line variants. Chevrolet evidently still don't know how to attract asian markets.
Had the 2010 Captiva and just sold it last year. The 2010, which came out in 06 in other markets, was quite ahead of its time back then. This one is an absolute downgrade. The third and second row could fold completely flat and was quite spacious. Also, whatever tech it had was quite advanced at the time. Plus it was a crossover going against the likes of the Tucson, Rav4, Ford Escape. Now they seem to have made it an MPV. The Captiva was also more premium than the Trax back when it came out in 2013. Not anymore, I guess. What a letdown compared to the Korean first generation.
It's a 5+2, and not really a 7-seater. And how you fold the second row for cargo is too cumbersome. For a car so wide, it looks really tight inside. I feel like it's not really a well-designed car. What it has going for it is power. How that translates to fuel efficiency and reliability is yet to be seen. I hope you put it to the test in the actual review.
I had a captiva once and I would never have one again, it was a money pit. Each and every time it went in for it's services something else needed to be changed on it, when driving you always new that something else on it would fail, so no I wouldn't want to go near it even if it was free.

Absolutely, I think they only sold 500 vehicles last year, there are luxury car makes that sell more cars in the Philippines than that. But without car & truck production in ASEAN factories, they really are uncompetitive and need to use rebadged Chinese and Korean cars. Plus they charge far beyond the 40% for non-ASEAN produced cars, like the Tahoe and Camaro.
