i would have read "n" number of articles about bell-padula. but the amount of detail you provided to such a simple 10 sec answer question seeds the theory in head so deep, you cant go wrong with that even if you are 10 pegs down. really appreciate you taking time to explain this

John, I truly believe that your description of how to read and process the exam question took me to another level of success and directly led to me passing the exam. Prior to this video, I was doing practice tests and "knew the material" but I was frequently answering incorrectly in the quiz. Once I used your system, my success rate increase dramatically. I even started covering the screen with a card so I couldn't see the answers. :) During the actual exam, I read the question once all the way through. On the second reading I wrote keywords on my approved scratchpad, focusing on BEST (and how to assess BEST) and NOT. Then I wrote any thoughts I had of the IDEAL answer...this takes time, so if I felt confident, I skipped this step to save time. Finally I wrote "A" after I read the first answer, "B" after the second and the "C" and "D". Then I would start to remove options and cross the letters out that didn't apply. Answers that were possible got a "?". Answers I felt were correct got a YES or a checkmark. When I decided on an answer, I wrote the associated letter to the side and circled it. Then and only then did I move to selecting the answer on the screen. This really worked well for me and I was keeping up a 35 to 40 question per hour rate. Thank you again for this insight, and I hope others find it as useful as I did. Looking forward to your CCSP course!

Hey Jack, thanks so much for the wonderful words, they are really inspiring. It is really gratifying to hear reviews like this, and honestly it's why we do this. It has been a passion for Rob and I for many years. And we have now assembled a team at Destination Certification that is just as passionate, caring and invested about people that go through our MasterClass and live bootcamps. Thanks for taking the time to put your thoughts down as a comment, it's really appreciated.

A mnemonic that helped me remember this is "Bell LaPadula is the WURD on Confidentiality - where WURD is Write Up Read Down". Combining that with the opposite of BLP confidentiality is Integrity with Biba. With those two facts I can recreate the read/write and up/down matrix on the fly. It also helped to lock in that SIMPLE = READ and STAR = WRITE. Thanks for this great explanation!

Hello John Berti, Rob Witcher and the whole DestCert Team,
Loving all the videos you have shared. I just want to ask, would it be possible to make a video on other models like Biba Model / Brewer & Nash Model / Clark Wilson Model or any other that you think is important.
I am following your videos and I must say, you all have done an amazing job. Keep it up guys. I am preparing for CISSP and hope to be prepared by year end. (fingers crossed)
    Thank You!!!
