India is the largest producer of millet, cultivating a variety of these grains that are packed with nutrition, have huge potential to generate livelihoods, increase farmers’ income and ensure food & nutritional security across the world. In April 2018, Millets were rebranded as Nutri Cereals, followed by the year 2018 being declared as the National Year of Millets. The year 2023 has been declared as the International Year of Millets by the United Nations General Assembly, at India’s behest… The aim is to create awareness and increase the production & consumption of millet.
