Hi Sonny, I am really interested in the 1x and was just wondering how long do you think this paddle will last me before needing to have it replaced? I am fairly new to pickleball, I have some tennis experience carry over and plan on learning spin. I plan on playing 1-3 times a week. Thank you in advance.
So the 1x is an amazing paddle. I used to go through paddles like crazy. But ive finally found a paddle i like. With that being said, i have started noticing a peculiar sound, kinda like a shotgun going off when i hit the paddle. I thought at first that it was normal, but upon hearing other folks with the same paddle , there was something peculiar about it. So i was doing some research and it seems as if my paddle has a delamination problem with the surface. The front of the carbon face is coming off .. but here’s the thing, it only makes the paddle hit harder! So I actually really like it, and the power i get is unbelievable. I haven’t really noticed a loss of control or anything. It is an expensive paddle but i believe there are 10% codes out there you can find. It’s a great paddle and I’m sure you’ll like it
@@sonnynos delaminated paddles will wear through to a deteriorating your polymer core, so you should send it back for a replacement. Not to mention touch and control will be completely lost once delaminated.
Sorry for the late response. I simply used white painters tape. I put the tape on first and then put the lead on top of the tape.. then i put more tape to cover up the lead. I think it looks better than the stock. I did use a prolite tape at one point, but noticed that it was making my paddle a little heavier. So i went with painters tape you can find at Lowes.
@@sonnynos interesting, thanks for the video. I have the original 14mm but looking to see if the 1x 16 would suit me. I have a heavy top spin so the 14 isn't hard to control for me
@@sonnynos I do use some lead on my 14mm, but I only weight up to 8.5 due to a wrist injury. I'm waiting for the 16 1X to stock locally and I'll demo it with tape. Very tough to get this paddle now!
the difference in sound is incredible

hi there great demo!, the white edge in the paddle how did you get that? edge tape? new edge guard? I did not see that in stock version thanks!

I thought the ball needs to be hit below the waist on serves. (???)
Was this a 14mm or 16mm?
This is the 16MM. I have a friend with the 14mm but i thought the 16MM had better reset ability and was faster. (Probably due to heavier weight)

@@shredzoo7 Do you put any lead on your paddle? I've tried the paddle with and without lead. I get more power with lead, but it's almost an overkill.

@@shredzoo7 yes, i've heard they're on back order. Good luck man! What area of the country do you play in? I'm close to Charlotte.
what a strange serve... are you under cutting it?
Nope there’s no slice. Just keeping a loose grip and whipping through..
Vandervort Skyway
muted sound, like the vice
I tried the Vice but i think this gets more power
My paper is delaminated so that’s why it sounds different
