I think many sports fans from the Midwest, many from Florida, and nearly all of Canada would like some NHL coverage.
Agreed. I've never been a huge NHL fan, I've been to half a dozen games, but I do pay attention to the records towards the end of each season so I know who's got the best records. Also I'll watch a few minutes of a period randomly when I see the playoffs are on TNT. So it would be nice to have a guest talk about the playoffs weekly, too late, but they could talk about the significance of each team in the Final's if they won

Just hom commenting on the series isnt that interesting, even as a lifelong hockey fan.
If Dan Hurley asked me... I would accept the Lakers' offer IF the first five years are guaranteed. Certainly no less than three years guaranteed. (No Lakers coach since Phil Jackson has lasted more than three years.)

The real news here is that Hurley has clearly sent a message to teams with young talent and draft picks that he is willing to coach their team. He has been clear that he is interested in going to the NBA to a team with young talent that he can develop and by this dalliance with the Lakers he is has demonstrated that he is willing to do it next year. Some teams that meet that criteria have good coaches ( OKC, Houston) but let us look at the example of the Nets - East coast team, some young talent, draft picks . There are other east coast teams that can also do be in play next year - Raptors, Magic ( if they stall) , Indiana ( if they disappoint) , Knicks ( it has happened before with Coach T). The big loser is Detroit who gave the ridiculous contract to Monty Williams.
