The distinction between “consciousness is all there is” and “consciousness, for each of us, is all there is” was really interesting! Even though I may not have the same beliefs as Anil Seth, I really enjoyed listening to him speak!

This was fascinating. I have a neurological condition called Charles Bonnet Syndrome, which is caused by vision loss. This means I hallucinate quite frequently. I am totally aware that what I’m seeing isn’t real, but there’s also an element of feeling like my condition, along with my TM practice (which I learned to help me deal with eye loss), has awakened something quite magical and peaceful inside of me. What started as a living nightmare has now become this weird blessing that brought me to TM, and then this ability to somehow be more connected with the universe. I don’t know how quite to articulate it. It’s like, I didn’t truly see until I lost an eye. My world is perpetually covered by geometric shapes and colors overlaying everything I see, but then, I meditate and I always envision those shapes and colors floating out of the top of my head into space, and somehow feel calmer and more at one with everything. It’s definitely changed the way I think about the brain, & made me realize just how much we don’t know. If it can make me “see” from an eye that is no longer there, what else is it capable of? And, can I truly say that what I’m “seeing” while in meditation isn’t real, or, am I embarking on a level of consciousness I wasn’t previously aware of? Whatever the case, the brain is a remarkable thing.

Very interesting discussion and thank you to both scientists for sharing so profound and inspirational ideas about human Consciousness functioning. It is very good question and comment of Mr Seth on theory of Unity consciousness and about experiences of higher states of consciousness ..."what if it is another illusion of human brain...?" And it is not a lot to think about it,, I would say so, because if that illusion "works" in this world and make better and happier. and more prosperitive and successful reality, then it is very real and true for all of us experiencing it.

Very interesting. I think the universe is alive with consciousness. And we are growing into it . As it grows too .

While the good people think to put a limit in the development of AI the bad people continue to do their dirty jobs in developing their AI… starting from China, Russia and so on…

I believe that the development of consiousness has not neccesarily something to do with God. Even if they call it "God"-consiousness. Angels have an expanded consiousness, more than humans, and also the Fallen Angels still have expanded consiousness, because that is the state in which they have been created, in the beginning. They are spiritual beings. Lucifer was the most beautiful and radiant among them, and they were the first creatures. There were no humans around at that point, humans were created only later. And God asked them to bow down to Him, and to accept His plan, and cooperate with it, out of their free will. He presented to the Angels His Plan to create humans, and God Himself would be born as a human, out of a very special woman, Mary. The human nature is considered inferior to the Angelic nature, and that was the reason why Lucifer refused to bow to these humans, even if one of them was the Incarnation of God Himself. Lucifer was so full of his own glory, and he delighted in his radiance so much, that he forgot that he was a mere creature himself. That is what made him rebel against the Creator, and ultimately becoming his worst enemy.

Seth seems unfamiliar with basic tenets of idealism….
