Hey man! You've helped me so much on deciding what Evolve skateboard Board I want. I was very confused at first what the differences we're between their boards and all their features, but you answered all my questions :) I just wanted to let you know how useful your videos are not only to me but I'm sure to a lot more people. Keep up the great videos Chris! Thanks, Sam
I’m rockin 200mm pneumatics and 66T pully on a DKP belt driven Meepo Hurricane! I eat hills for breakfast, never have a problem breaking 30mph (which feels way too fast), feel completely safe (no speed wobbles) and my motors are never hot! Ten outta ten, highly recommend. My only complaint would be that I’m getting slightly less range but I still never get less than 20 miles and by that point I’m typically ready to throw my board in the trunk of an Über anyway so it’s all good.
Another great vid. Well done! I’ve been riding the BGTR 6” for the last few months and think they’re excellent. The only thing I wish you would’ve included is a range test between the 6” and 7” whilst riding exactly the same way. It would be useful to know if the 6” actually gets more range than the 7” under the exact same conditions/speed due to its stiffer sidewall tyre. Great work.
I have to say this video has helped me very much when deciding what gear ratio would be best for my riding style. I recently build a DIY setup with evolve trucks and wheels. The 6 inch wheels with the 66T gear setup gets me 22 mile range with my weight and riding style. Its my go to setup for now. Thanks!

Awesome video as always. Being a heavier rider (95kg) and living in a very hilly area, I find the biggest limiting factor for the gear setups is actually how hot the motors get. That's part of the reason I still prefer the original 97's for most rides, with a bit of 7 inch sprinkled in for offroad or flat rides.
@@TheNewnan3 No, I just let it cool off for a while when they get too hot. Only once have I let it get hot to the point where it kicked me into Eco mode
I think your right. My 7 inch with 66T max speed is 35km per hr. I feel like it would be ideal if I could go another 10km an hour and I can roughly achieve this by switching to the 6 inch with 47TT setup. Thanks for your advice
Great description...But... I’m an Ecomobl et all terrain drop down board rider, gears no belts. I luv my set up, 35mph max, 35% grades at 20mph easy. The Ecomobl has 4 set accel. Speeds and 4 braking modes. I ride very aggressive street and off-road.
Your videos are awesome! I love the way you break everything down. I have the Evolve Carbon GTR and will definitely look to get some new setups for it after watching your videos. Keep posting great videos!
Great video very comprehensive explanation of the two set ups. I have a reused my hubs from the 7" on the 6" tyres. Not sure if it's the way I have fitted them however I notice a fair degree of vibration. Is that something you have noticed in your testing?
Nice informative video. Have to say I don't like how you skate when near pedestrians. The way you carve in your videos, is that your normal skating style and does your range results include not skating in a straight line? I have the 7" at carbon gt and trying to make it home without walking I only carve like that while breaking and going down hill to recharge the battery. It's good to take a compact bike pump and a spare tube when using pneumatic wheels.
Now this is what I call an esk8 review, I bought a bamboo gtr, and I bought it with street wheels and I love them, but I kind of want to try the tires, how are the tires?
AndrewMurphy hey did you go with the 6 inches? I’m so stuck between the two- leaning toward 6in w the 47tooth but don’t want to loose any confidence I may get from those 7 inchers.... any report?
@@JustAnother_Millennial Yeah got the 6" and loving it! Going from street wheels I have so much more confidence smashing over curbs and then carving on grass and trails! I just released a video of my shredding with the 6" here - th-cam.com/video/ganoBSF6d_U/w-d-xo.html
So I've burned a couple hours watching videos and you've definitely earned a sub. Question: Out of the 3 Evolve choices and the infinite setups, if you had to chose one board and setup to be your daily, what would it be?
Firstly... thank you ☺️. Second, wow difficult question but I’d say GTR Bamboo with 7inch wheels on 47T. Motors will overheat using 7inch with 47T instead of 66T.. but this would be my everything board 😆
Hey Chris !! I’m Cambridge based & work @ Royal Papworth Hospital !! I recognise all of your locations 😀 I’m about to order an Evolve Carbon with AT tyres. On their website, they give you the option of “Off Road” or “All terrain” tyres. What is the difference please ? Do they do solid, no air tyres ? Please forgive me, I’m a brand newbie @ 60yrs old !!
Man slow down please... I mean... my head hurts trying to catch up... i had to replay it like 3 times :D ... loved it though.. very detailed, thanks for helping me chose my option
Hey Bud, which slides better and turns tighter in your view?? Am riding to carve and get the tail loose bit like a surf style with tight turns. My mates w loose trucks and carbon seems to actually pivot slide the best. Its like the bamboo is better hold like a snowboard through turns.
first of all ; thanks a million for all the super informative video's you guys are putting out ! For example; watching hours of your material have made me decide for a purchase of the longer Evolve deck instead of the Onsra. I'm 1m95 so a short deck would have been "less safe" for me at 48 years of youth ;-) BUT the Onsra is still on my list as it seems like a ton of fun (as i've seen in your video's; again! ) My question on this subject, the AT wheels and the forthcoming "abuse" of the skateboard ; have you noticed that there is more strain on all the connections as of truck-screws and bolts that need tightening up more often , or general wear+tear of components ? I have the Carbon GTR ; want to order the 7 inch "Knobby" wheels to hit the trails. Is the Carbon deck going to suffer because it's more stiff you think ?
8:34 what about 6 inch with 66 tooth gear? Wouldn't that have additional torque? Does that additional torque not matter because the reduced wheel diameter really just makes it too difficult to get over grass or rocks or whatever?
I did 6" with 66t because I am heavy and live in a hilly area. The extra torque is fantastic. As far as going over curbs I do not notice much difference between 6 and 7". 6" is already such an enormous improvement over urethane, even the TB110. As far as comfort the Evolve tires are both very uncomfortable due to the crazy thick sidewalls. I think the Sunmate/Metro 6" tires are more comfortable than the Evolve 7"... but the Evolve do much better for range.
6 inch AT wheels are the best all rounder for my Carbon GTR. I'd love to squeeze a little more speed out of her but 37/38kmph is reasonable. Have you tried experimenting with gear ratios with the 107mm's? I find I liked the 38T setup over the 32T. The torque is insane and the top speed is still decent.
Hi there guys I tried to purshed for this board but I didn't know how much was going to charge me in Aus dollars and I didn't want surprises .hope I can figure out because I think is my board I m looking for too cheers 🤙
Question...it looks like you're using evolve tires. Have you tried aftermarket tires such as MBS? They're unbelievably lighter. 8" T3 MBS tires paired with 58t drive gear = 24mph. Its my happy medium. I run a carbon gt and keep it in fast mode most of the time..gt mode if I need it, and eco mode to give the internals a break. Always have a spare tire with me, plus bearings, drive gear bearings, belts and tools. Because you never know. I know ppl that refuse to ride with that stuff to save weight until they have to call an uber for the first time lol. When you get 2 punctures in one trip, that's someone up above telling you to wrap it up lol. Also, what kind of bearings are you guys running? Are you still using ones that require spacers or have you been introduced to Zealous bearings yet?
Lacroix makes a board that gets 50-60 miles , like to see a review on this board, 16 miles just seems a little sad, my board gets 25 miles or approx 3 hours of riding depending on terrain, thinking of upgrading but want independent reviews

@@averageeskatereviews haha, 280mm would be insane. I've not tried the boosted wheels but I can't see that there is anything that special about them. Have you ever tried the trampa gummies on the evolve hubs? Could be an interesting video?

Yo y do u get 24 to 26 mph on street i got the stock set up and onley can get 22 if im lucky i just got the gtr like a week ago and msg evolve and they did nothing its a hassle to get ahold of them becouse of covid can u help me?
I get max 27mph on 107s with a long run up. Get 24-25 from the 6inch set up. 97mm 24-25. Belt tension, wind, road can make a difference to top speed and range.
Has anyone tried a 7” in front and 6” rear tires setup? It sounds a bit Frankenstein style but would it be a solution for riding bumpy streets without loosing the speed and keeping the battery high longer?
Could you or someone else here in the comment section educate me on all terrain 7 tires vs off road(knobby) 7 tires as far as using them on the street and a bit of off-road. Would the AT get more range and top speed over the off-road on street please and thank you
Hey, i'm wondering, what is your usual cruising speed ? Whenever i'm on the road alongside traffic, I do not dare going over 30kph / 18.5mph on 97mm But it sounds like you're always over that ?
Quick question, is anyone running Slime in the 6 or 7” pneumatics? I run it in my Dual Sport dirt bike and my mountain bike and it cuts my flats down to almost zero. I have to really run over something bad to have to change the tube or tire at that point
Good review mate, I’ve got a bamboo gtr running the 6" at wheels with an after market 58 tooth. Get about 28km range and 26km top speed but with tonnes of torque as I like riding grass and dirt, I’m also 95kg. One thing I would say about both sizes of at wheels though, they are terrible quality, unbalanced, and the tolerance of the rim area that house the bearing is too loose, I’ve shimmed all my bearings with a coke can to stop the popping noise. Evolve have a “fix” vid which is greasing the outside of bearing, this will stop the noise for a short time, however it will also exacerbate the problem long term. Anyone know of some high spec at wheels? Cheers.
26km (16mph) top speed with the 58 tooth? I was told the less teeth it has, the higher the top speed.... U should be getting atleast from 25-30mph top speed? 🤔
Julian Rosales Niles well all I can say is, both my gps apps must be out. Wheel size is an integral part of the calculation, I’m not trying to convince anyone, these are facts mate.
Hey dude, i use the 6 inch wheels also on the GT bamboo and i am 117kg :)......love e boards but i just wanted to let you know i get about 33 kph top speed...i did upgrade the stock battery to a Marsen Energy 36V 12000mAh GT Skateboard Battery from ebay still same bms but battery upgrade made a huge improvement as the standard really lacked with prolonged use of GT mode. I think the quality of 18650's evolve use is good but not great.
ouzomitsos hey mate, my gtr is pretty new so haven’t needed to change out the battery yet. I was getting about the same top speed as you with the wheel gear that was supplied, but I really like riding trails and dirt pump tracks, it just lacked bottom end, that’s why I got the 58 tooth gear, hence the lower top speed. 👍
Lower top speed but more torque / acceleration...i love it :) it makes for a safer ride as the footpaths and roads where i am are bad over 25-30ksph..!
I'll tell you what's annoying. I spent 2400 Canadian on my 3rr gen Bamboo GT and within 2 months my battery sag was beyond brutal! I've had problems with my Bluetooth remote not working as intended to the point of doesn't work at all. My board would stutter when I engaged the throttle. So, I'm stuck using a gen 1 remote which aren't that bad once you're used to them, but the problem there is I've had 3 of them now (3rd is on order) and they're so cheaply made where the USB port just falls right off! Even if your super careful plugging it in! So I'm paying 179 .00 per remote and I don't even know how long it'll last me. Then I've bought a new set of 7in AT tires to replace my original ATs which was another 400 bucks. I want to order another battery (699.00) but they're never in stock and I'm starting to think Evolve has abandoned anything previous to their current gen boards which is a massive kick to the nuts! Sorry but investing over 2k in a board then nearly 1k+ in parts is a pretty big investment for most and a good company charging very premium prices should support their products for 5 to 6 years after launch and also put out QUALITY products the community can stand behind! They should've issued a massive recall on the batteries for 3rd Gen as they bloody well knew they were shiite and heard everyone in the forum's sounding off about it yet, they did nor said nothing. At worst, they should've given owners of 3rd gen or previous gen a solid discount to replace their batteries with a buyback program. It was just shady of them. The all being said , when the board works as intended it is nothing short of amazing but damn I can't help but feel a bit slighted.
So what I want -- right -- is an eSkate review where: The rider puts >500km on the board before reviewing, In the wet Occasionally riding into and wiping out in sand traps, gutters full of wet leaves, pot holes, and random piles of shit.
So lacroix have a warhouse with spare parts in uk? No... wont be getting one then. Dont make the mistake I did with a raptor 2.1 if you get a board make sure you can get repairs and spares from your own country otherwise its not worth it.
It is really fun on grass but the 6 inch tires will fit on the same rims and there are many pulleys out there not just evolve ones to chose from which can cost more.
@@DB-hm7mu I got 3 of them at ride them hard off road. Never had a problem. A few times I got flung off my board because I hit a huge root going 16mph down a florida trail and I expected something to be broken but it wasnt. Boards are solid. Once my motor became loose and it hit against the pulley. I thought my motor was seized so they sent me a motor for free. When I went to replace it I noticed the problem and just pulled the motor off the pulley and tightened it. Now I got a free extra motor. Not sure where you got the idea of bad customer service aftersales because thats not my experience.
@@DB-hm7mu lmao. I buy whatever gives me the best quality/value ratio for my money. You talking shit about china like over half the things you use isn't from them. I'm not riding an evolve and risking my safety due to a faulty delicate remote.

knowledge is power!! i never even thought of the at setups changing the speed and acceleration characteristics, great point!!
so what would you recommend as the best eboard for under a grand.. im thinking the exway x2 riot or something with a belt, i owned two hub motor esk8s and want to really have some fun this summer with a new board... what would you recommend? im digging the exway with the riot belt package but i also am feeling the new loaded eboards that the loaded company is actually offering now str8 from them... never htought i would see the day but hey its here haha
what would you recommend for a solid esk8 im 6 foot 1 almost 6"2' weight 220 pounds im having such a hard time finding a solid board or anybody to actually answer my questions im hoping that you will break the mold and help me out... thanks and god bless brotherman!!..

The evolve Stoke looks sick
Super informative
Yo y do u get 24 to 26 mph on street i got the stock set up and onley can get 22 if im lucky i just got the gtr like a week ago and msg evolve and they did nothing its a hassle to get ahold of them becouse of covid can u help me?
I got the 107s but thats gonna get me 24mph?
I get max 27mph on 107s with a long run up. Get 24-25 from the 6inch set up. 97mm 24-25.
Belt tension, wind, road can make a difference to top speed and range.
Has anyone tried a 7” in front and 6” rear tires setup? It sounds a bit Frankenstein style but would it be a solution for riding bumpy streets without loosing the speed and keeping the battery high longer?
Could you or someone else here in the comment section educate me on all terrain 7 tires vs off road(knobby) 7 tires as far as using them on the street and a bit of off-road. Would the AT get more range and top speed over the off-road on street please and thank you
66t better for hills
Hey, i'm wondering, what is your usual cruising speed ?
Whenever i'm on the road alongside traffic, I do not dare going over 30kph / 18.5mph on 97mm
But it sounds like you're always over that ?
Full speed always 😂
Quick question, is anyone running Slime in the 6 or 7” pneumatics? I run it in my Dual Sport dirt bike and my mountain bike and it cuts my flats down to almost zero. I have to really run over something bad to have to change the tube or tire at that point
Try a trampa makes evolve look like a toy & is realy what a board running A/T should be
I mean gtr motor is 1500w. With 2 4000 motors this would be a different story
Question: Can the 6" tires be put on the same rim as the 7" tires? So when one wears out you can easily try the other?
That's affirmative
what about a 58T setup with the 7" ATs ? might be the sweet spot for the GTR ?
They don't sell it
Good review mate, I’ve got a bamboo gtr running the 6" at wheels with an after market 58 tooth.
Nothing average about these reviews. Godly is a better fit.
Very good video, you are of good advice, but what do you speak fast!!!! I am French and it is a little hard to follow ... 😂
Anyone else build their own board?
So what I want -- right -- is an eSkate review where:
The rider puts >500km on the board before reviewing,
In the wet
Occasionally riding into and wiping out in sand traps, gutters full of wet leaves, pot holes, and random piles of shit.
A true durability test, ikr

Can you get arrested in the Uk for riding e-boards?
No. Worst case a fine if you’re riding like an idiot. If you’re respectful, you don’t get any trouble
Lacroix Lonestar is the best. 120 km of range and top speed is almost 70 km/h
Good for you
So lacroix have a warhouse with spare parts in uk? No... wont be getting one then. Dont make the mistake I did with a raptor 2.1 if you get a board make sure you can get repairs and spares from your own country otherwise its not worth it.
OmniClipz Lacroix customer service is way better than Evolve.
Black Phillip I sure hope it is when that thing costs over 4000 dollars. No thanks
@@jacobskjdtsrensen9425 Good stuff cost big bucks.
Damn I just bought the all terrain version and found out it comes with 7”... disappointed.
I have 7’s and love them, sliding on grass or on hard beach sand are my favourite things to do. I’d go 8” before I went 6”
It is really fun on grass but the 6 inch tires will fit on the same rims and there are many pulleys out there not just evolve ones to chose from which can cost more.
Soooo many numbers, you would help the viewer a lot with a text or graf comparison... simply to many number jumbled together..
Peter Kornum i appreciate the feedback but not something I want to add to an edit.
the range sucks on evolve boards
So much math
size doesnt matter when your motor shutdown out of no where. RIP
New users go with a Wowgo AT2. Not an evolve. evolve's have problems that throw people off their boards.
@@DB-hm7mu I have 3 wowgo AT2 boards and a onewheel. You think what you want bud.
