      Mom, chill! If I don't warm the " creatine" up in the spoon it's going to mess up my veins. Rest is really important for recovery. I'm going to take this creatine and just crash here on the floor for a few hours, don't disturb me.

    Creatine supplementation helps your nervous system and mental health because it takes stress off of your methylation system. Your body needs creatine and makes it on its own. It requires a methyl group to make, and is highly prioritized, which leaves your body with fewer resources to methylate other important compounds, for example basically all B vitamins and choline. For people who are already poor methylators, such as those like myself with the MTFHR gene, supplementing creatine is a huge physical and mental game changer.

    • @ArtOfRuin981
      @ArtOfRuin981 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +70

      As a fellow MTHRFKR mutant, i will concur. Shit's legit. Might i also steer you toward TMG supplementation? Theres an additional MTF molecule as a byproduct of TMG breakdown. Helped a ton! Ive halved my b12 dosage and Methylcobalamin supps using these 2 alone. Methylfolate has become ridiculously expensive if you havent noticed 😢

      "enough" is a loaded word.
      You get "enough" creatine by doing nothing - Your body will produce enough on its own to run the basics on.
      Any that you intake, up to the limit where your cells are full of the stuff and can't use any more, adds more performance. So eating lots of meat does provide some creatine and provide some benefit...
      But, like the other reply said, you'd need to be eating very unhealthy amounts of meat to get enough to match the level of creatine given in supplements for the studies that show the results we talk about.
      (I'm not sure if the studies accounted for the meat intake of the participants, either, so it is possible that the amount of meat you'd need to reach that amount would be on top of normal meat intake, which is already high for average Americans)

      it retains water in the cells in the muscle. Blood pressure is raised when fluid is increased in the blood via salt, however the kidneys keep the salt levels where it needs to be. Cut sugar out of your diet and watch you blood pressure drop. Insuline in the blood causes pretty much all issues from diabetes to strokes to heart attacks.

    • @jaymaw6164
      @jaymaw6164 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just take some leucine on top of your protein supplement, literally same results. Leucine is broken down into HMB so it's way cheaper than buying HMB. You'll get more results with creatine though. And right now at week 5 I wouldn't even bother with anything other than dialing in your diet, creatine will give bigger gains than HMB for sure...

It was given to cancer and HIV patients and the results were pretty crazy.

      I agree 100 with ya, that's why I tried it. I think it is one of the very few supps that actually work. I've also tried adding leucine to my protein shake, and consistently take creatine. I'm just saying that right now at 5 weeks in, I don't think it's worth the cost for you. If you're training decently and eating enough calories and getting 1g/lb of protein, you'll make gains, the best gains you'll ever get. When you hit a hard spot, then absolutely start taking supplements. I'd milk the newb gains for all I could first. No supplements are magic, it's the hard work and diet and consistency that get you big/cut, supps make up 5 maybe 10% in the end.
      I think it works about as well a taking large amounts of glutamine. At least, that was what it did for me, you could very well be different, if you've got money to burn on something and want to try it, then hell yea, throw it in it won't hurt I just don't think you'll get noticeable results since your in the very beginning stage and that's when the most gains are made...

I couldn't even sit spin anymore with all the extra mass. Also didn't feel healthy to be at 195 at 5'10. My heart felt really inefficient and I couldn't run a mile in less than 11 min.
      I also got a groin pull prob from having extra mass in my legs my adductor tendons weren't ready for. So now I'm out of commission doing rehab shit for a month and losing everything I had.

    The problem is you have to keep taking it to stay swoll. Once you stop taking it you will get smaller. I do not want to be dependent on anything to stay jacked. I am big enough, I do not need creatine. I take pride in being natural. I just lift, eat clean, and sleep to stay jacked.

      Agreed. However I’d say it has a place when you hit a plateau. Creatine is in steak so it’s not like you’re taking something fake. It’s just more. Tbh an hour lifting session isn’t really what nature designed but we still do it.

      I don't think you understand how magnesium works. Regardless, you shouldn't blame other people for what you perceive as being a mistake. It's your fault, the research is out, go and read it.

      Magnesium is very important to take. None of these things are going to make you feel any different but they have pretty significant benefits.

      Don't know anything about whatever Huberman is pushing, but I don't think it should do anything, if you are not deficient in magnesium to begin with.
      I was very much deficient in magnesium and when I started taking it, it literally changed my life. My constant brainfog and fatigue that I've been suffering from for years completely disappeared.

    Look, I'm on the fence of taking creatine, but the one and only thing holding me back is: Does creatine really cause hair loss? As great as being jacked is, I want to keep my hair

      @user-ii7xc1ry3x 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      With the current research, you can assume the following two things:
      1) there's nothing implying creatine actually causes hair loss
      2) you won't get jacked for taking creatine, you might not even see a difference at all
      Should you take it? Sure, but don't have your expectations high. People tend to expect way too much from supplements

      It doesn't cause hair loss. There are other factors at play that are causing hair loss and creatine is not one of them. People spreading this misinformation don't know what they are talking about. The myth was already debunked ages ago.

    God I wish I could take creatine. I've tried it (small dose, first thing in the morning) like four times. My workouts are amazing, but I can't sleep at night, so not worth it for me. I'm in that tiny minority that just doesn't tolerate it.

      Are you sure that’s not placebo? I can’t really think of any logical reason it would cause that. The only thing I can think of is you may be worried about side effects and that anxiety keeps you up if anything

    • @GOAT-rl2uq
      @GOAT-rl2uq 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@joshdeveaux8525 I'm doubtful. I was never consciously worried about side effects since I know how well researched it is, and the first two attempts at getting on creatine, I had never heard anyone complain about sleep troubles. I considered the placebo angle, but doesn't seem to help. If the end result is no sleep, doesn't really matter if it's in my head or not, you know?

    • @Woodroffski
      @Woodroffski 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheWizardSpeaksI definitely experienced a very high correlation. Before starting creatine I was experiencing no hair loss, then while taking it for a few months the hair loss was quite rapid, and then stopped when I quit creatine. A lot of people report exactly the same phenomenon. A bunch of anecdotal evidence doesn't provide absolute proof, but while studies apparently prove it cannot promote hair loss in any individual, I am going to gamble on my own personal experience and the experience of others, since scientific studies can also paint an inaccurate picture of reality.
