When i double click on the node to open in putty, it says "network error - connection refused". however, if i open putty separately and enter IP address of eve-ng, I can gain access to the CLI. however, i am not able to gain access to the fortigate firewall :-(....any advice?
I did exactly the same as what you showed but when starting the firewall, it automatically stopped after a few seconds. Will you guess what the issue is? Please let me share if you have any fixes.
How did you downloaded the fortinet v7.2 & 7.4. When I am login to firmware download it is showing "'Sorry, you don't have any product covered by Fortinet support contract." this.

once logged in on top you get 2 options/tabs which are Services & Support. You need to click on Support then Check Downloads>VM Images>Select Product> Fortigate Select Platform>KVM>Download as per available versions.
