    I ran across this by accident. I sat here and almost imagined myself behind the wheel. I drove a gt6 in my younger days and it was not even close to as fast as my car at the time but the experience never left me. I ended up with a 76 280z. Not exactly the same thing. These cars were such pure driving enjoyment.

    Absolutely fabulous. Lovely sound, lovely roads.
    I have a restored MK2 and I have yet to drive it as the weather has been so.. well wet I guess!
    Will make a similar video and let the car do the taking.

    Got a ride in my father in law's for the first time the other day. What I love about it is that our feels like you're going for leather when in fact you're probably going significantly slower than you would be in your diesel Mondeo while discussing TV shows with the wife. Great little cars.

    I miss my Mk2 Spitfire, it was red/black trim with white piping and wall to wall to wall fun. However with that swing axle rear suspension it might take spin out as an invitation. The one time I span mine no amount of opposite lock would change its mind. Eventually I steered the other way anddid a quick 360 at which point it started doing what it told again, no harm done.

    I don’t have to imagine what it was like to go 102 mph in one. At 17 it didn’t seem dangerous. It scares me to think about it now. Just glad thats all the 67 spitfire could do with the peddle to the floor. There so tiny!

    My first car was a 1964 Triumph Spitfire. I loved the car and totaled it twice. I wasn't considered the "at fault" driver either time but... After the second accident, I bought a 1960 PV544 Volvo. Quite a change.

    Hi Simon - I stumbled across this by accident - but what a treat. I miss her so much =( ....... never should have sold, but I also love the summerhouse, so I guess I will have to be content with my TR4A when it's finished - hopefully this year.I still have most of an OD kit if you want to try it - it's a D type so if you used a column switch it would still be an original factory option. Did you ever get around to fixing the rear wing?Would love to hear from you if you fancy a chat or if you happen to be driving through Esbjerg in a little blue carCheersRichard

    Reminds me of being 18 again, driving my red Spitfire Mk III with a beautiful blonde in the passenger seat, next year a brunette etc... Idle seems a bit lumpy though and you should learn the art of double declutching to avoid grinding gears. Looks very much like Denmark, am I right?

      I had a 1965 mk2. Never mind no synchro on 1st there wasn't much on 2nd. The gear lever was just as unpredictable. To get 1st select 2nd and straight forward or you might shoot backwards. 😂

    Great video and a great car. I'm not familiar with the exhaust notes of Triumph, but it sounds like it needs a bit more tuning. I own an MGB and am used to the very smooth and steady exhaust inseatd of the sputtering unless it needs tuning.

    First of all, this was a nice video. It puts you in a position for a good road view and seeing what the driver's doing, too. Good show! However, and please excuse my ignorance, but where did the "spin out" happen? I kept waiting to see it, but perhaps you're using some slang to express a "spin" around the neighborhood? Your car is nice, but it does sound rough and it appears that you're having some transmission issues as well. The speedometer would drive me nuts! It looks like it needs attention as well. Enjoy your delightful ride!

    • @spinouteu9627
      @spinouteu9627  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spinout is just the channel name ;)
      And you are correct about the gearbox issue, and i can inform you that it has been fixed since this video was made. Have a nice spring and thank you for watching.

    Ho, nice machine!!! And nice sound!! There's one for sale in need of restoration near where I live... I've got other classic cars (not in the best shape but...) And I sometimes have the thought of selling them and get the Triumph but... I'm not sure... The cars are an early Citroen DS-19 and a '66 spanish Seat 1500... Difficult decision....

  • @davidharris733

    You seem to be avoiding 2nd gear. Do you have syncromesh issues? I ask because my Mk1 behaves the same. Nice clip and pretty car anyway.

    • @Cymon343
      @Cymon343 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +David Harris Yes I have issues with my 2nd gear :/
      I've tried to replace all the synchromesh rings in the box. But sadly it did not have the desired effect.
      So I'm thinking about getting that gearbox-change done. Overdrive would really be nice.

    • @davidharris733
      @davidharris733 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Cymon343 I think my issues were more driver error. Goes into 2nd "quite" easily now. Practice makes perfect. Mine has a 1300 box with Overdrive and it is a big advantage. Good luck with the Spit.

    Excellent video! But my question concerns the video itself. How did you set up the camera and microphone with the top down, yet avoid all the wind noise that plagues everybody else? Sure is a nice region you were driving through....

    • @dougammet9229
      @dougammet9229 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've heard that if you put thin tape over the microphone it will muffle most noises, including the engine, but will block out the wind as well.

    • @williamkaiser8067
      @williamkaiser8067 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doug Ammet Thanks for the idea. I'll give it a try!

    • @spinouteu9627
      @spinouteu9627  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      William Kaiser Hi. We used a GoPro Hero 1 cam with a Deadmouse microphone cover to reduce noise, and the mounting is the old GoPro Suction Cup. The mic has an extention cord on and is placed just beside the right rearlights.
      AND not to forget, we removed some viberation og a little wind noise with software. BUT we made sure not alle the noise was removed so the experience was more authentic :)

    • @spinouteu9627
      @spinouteu9627  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Doug Ammet Never tried the tape gimmick, but heard of it. We just went to buy the wind reduction cover in the first place.

      +Olle Bladin I'm actually not sure. I drive it, and when it's thirsty I fill it up :)
      I usually doesn't drive faster than ~50 mph, but there is no doubt that overdrive would be a nice upgrade to the driving experience, aswell as the fuel-economy.
