Here’s another big issue with the shows. I held my first one and sold 120$ worth of items and thought, great, let’s do it again. My second show a woman came through and bought like four higher priced items, almost equal to the amount I made the first show. Immediately after my show ended her credit card came up as declined and even after reaching out to her AND eventually to posh, nothing. Apparently Posh doesn’t charge your card (or attempt to charge a buyer) until the show ends completely, which means people can just rack up a bill and then dip and you end up with a 5 hour show and zero freaking sales. Anger doesn’t even begin to describe how I felt that night lol
I haven't had the privilege of making that many sales during a live but having the sales not go through would be super annoying. I feel like they rushed into it just to compete with whatnot but neglected to add failsafe things like that
I wanted to throw my first Posh show tonight so I'm doing my research. The author of this video should have known in the training that you have to use two devices like a laptop and a cell phone. That's what I'm going to do tonight.
The later shows with over 50 attendees are better IMO. I think the auctions should be only for a limited time. Mystery boxes are fun! Or host gifts etc.
I'm thinking of trying it again with my US closet to see if I can clear out some of my death pile....and maybe do low starts. Having more people watching is definitely correlated to success though
Haven't done a Posh show as of yet but I did a Whatnot and I'm glad I did because I learn a lot about doing live selling online. Also, I hope Posh has the bundle feature on their platform for shows because it helps keep down shipping cost.
They apparently have a bundle feature now so if someone buys multiple items it will automatically bundle once the show has ended. I've never had a bundle so I can't confirm but that's what their blog said!
Great video. I just feel selling items for $5 is not why I resell. No profit by the time I source, wash and list. Then pack up and ship out. I don’t source at the bins so I pay up for items so not worth my time to sell at $5. I am worried Poshmark is turning into a cheap reselling platform and that is not what I want to do.
I don't source items that will sell for $5 either. Especially if someone has to pay almost $14 in shipping, it's not worth it for them to buy something valued at $5
I don't like live auction sales. If you have a somewhat large social following & TH-cam presence then maybe success is easier, it all seems like a lot of work for no guarantee of sales!
Hi do you take video requests? Can you do one on How to store your items? Do you wash them when you get home and store all the items from one thrift trip all together? Lol you aren’t awkward. I think your viewers like your videos :) maybe it helps if someone can answer while you show them
These live shows are a popularity contest
Yeah for sure, the ones that have more than 30+ views are ones that have a good following or their starts are $5 which I can't really do for my COGs
@@thriftythreadsneedles Yup! I hope your sales pick up soon.

How was your experience on Whatnot? Did you sell a lot? Are you still selling on their platform? It’s A LOT of prep work.
Poshmark has Always done bundles.

Totally agree with this!
That is pretty much what she has summarized here .
