Spectral Duke is good but does not have much to show aside with his LB which is basically a G3 version of SP's Spectral Blaster with an extra RG cost. Good back ups to run along him is any unit that can replenish your formation like the unit that calls another when boosted(pwyll if I'm not mistaken) and the new cray elemental valancher for getting back heals for g guards and an extra draw. Gurguit, on the other hand, has been a favorite so there are a lot of card to pair with him especially with both gurguits available in hand. I think it all lies to your preferences (and/or budget for real cards, I play mostly of CFA) and how well you can handle and understand your own deck (plus a little luck with the top deck calling). It would take a literal book to explain what is wring with the series in terms of plotholes, bad characters and character development and bullshit wish fulfillment to pander to kids and weeaboos with no life. But anything that can 'guard' can be combined. Which is why you can intercept as well as Quintet Wall or Intercept and G-Guardian. There's nothing in the rules preventing you from adding as many cards as you choose to the Guardian Zone. The most cards I've seen in the Guardian Zone is seven, but there can be more. It's all in the Cardfighter's choice!!

You wanna know what I miss? The main characters actually loosing during tournaments. Seriously, every time I try watching the new series, the main characters only lose when it doesn't matter, unlike the original where the main characters lost all the time, and had to earn their victories. That's probably why I stopped watching this series.
Aichi in season 1 lost in the tournament but there was another tournament in the same year so it didn't really matter if they lost in thr beginning. Season 2: aichi and his team were losing but they were still in the tournament. Season 3: he lost the tournament but it wasn't really very important, Also the tournament in g hasn't even finished so you can't reallg judge it. Neon messiah: Aichi lost in the tournament but the tournament never finished so doesn't really matter much.
