Got to love musicians. Spent years waiting to build a nice set up at home, completes it, one the first videos after that- ‘Let’s record outside in public!’ (Epic playing as ever Travis, learnt lots from you)
Sooo sick man! You’re right, I have no more excuses about not being able to record myself without a bunch of recording gear. Thank you and outstanding playing!
I’ve been wanting a guitar TH-camr to make this sort of video. Even though I’m not a bass player, this is extremely valuable to me as a guitarist. Lots of people don’t even own a laptop or computer anymore when our phones are capable of so much. Can you make a video for playing live at home or at a show with just a phone and amp/headphones/PA? I’d love to learn how to only use a phone for practicing at home, playing with a few others, making social media videos, and possibly even for performances at a venue. Why would anyone want to drag a laptop when their phone can probably get the job done for tones/rigs, recording, monitoring, and a host of other tools?! Maybe this should become a “iPhone only” series to cover a variety of topics on how to be a musician with just a phone, your instrument, and as little as possible beyond that. Ty!
Wow! Travis, what a great job. I love your musicality. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. Thank you for making this video. Keep it up! I love your bass tone. I know you mentioned the ToneX effect pedal, but I think your great tone comes from the type of bass you are playing, the pick-ups in your bass, and your technical skills as a bass player. I loved the ghost notes that you added in the upbeat song
Travis, I love watching your videos brother! Do you think you could make one that covers a little more info on the Tonex One pedal as it relates to the presets and tracking bass? Thanks man!
That was really dope. Honestly, I realized I watch a lot of your videos and haven't subscribed. It's a good idea to ask for subscribers. I know a lot of people might think it's begging but I think some people genuinely don't think about subscribing to channels. Awesome video. I'm a keys player but I'm trying to get my sound out of the 90's and this will help.
sounded great. i have the old iRig Pro (10 years old) and just recently pulled it out and tried with Garageband (to show a friend who was just using iPhone microphone for his recordings) and was impressed how easily it was to put down guitar and bass over a Garageband drum beat. I'd never done that before. I've not exported those yet so going to watch your recommended video on that. I use Presonus 6+ (whatever they call the subscription) as well. you've got a new subscriber.
Tory Slusher is the best guitarist in the world by 100 miles, and she performs her magic on an iPhone. The magic will come through. Hendrix did it, and so does Tory. Mediocrity does not improve with expensive equipment.
Amazing Video, Travis! I was also impressed with how great your voice sounded talking to us at Panera. I didn't see a lav mic. What mic were you using?
The guitars on Hysteria by Def Leppard were recorded with a $100 Headphone Amp….good recording tone can have far more to do with adding the RIGHT frequencies to a mix.
That’s the perfect message to end with, for me. Not having certain gear is always my excuse for not being consistent with projects, so thank you for that reminder! I love these videos! The structure is always solid, and I love that you link the gear in the comments. It always gives a theme of encouragement for all us players, thank you for this channel!
Hey mate see the problem is, like me alot of people consume content on phones. Because of the mix I am just unable to literally hear your playing. Phones are unable to produce alot of low end info.
Hey man! You’re right and when I listen to any bass videos I know that without headphones it’s so difficult to hear…but just toss in some headphones and the video is mixed properly! Sounds perfect and beefy on my AirPods!
@@rickyrayreid Man Most of the time either saturating some mids or having slightly mid heavy tone from the starting like those big fat lookin humbuckers sound on a sterling bass, you are not the only one though getting bass heard on a phone a real task so doesn't bother if it stops the craft. Thanks for getting back.
@@dipengupta4045 totally man! Pumping the mids on guitar and bass can definitely make it cut through the mix or just be audible on phone too. Thanks for the insight and chat!
You are the “Bees Knees”. I’ve been playing bass most of my life, I record in my home studio, played around with GarageBand on my iPad. This series of equipment is killer.

My dyslexic ass read "Bass Pro Sessions" like at Bass Pro Shops
It messed me up also 😂
Me too😂😂😂
Yea i read Bass Pro Sessions too. I was excited for it. Still a good video though. 😅
Same

Very cool. Garage Band is a great free option, but I would suggest using Cubasis 3 as your DAW for those who need a little more capability in DAW.
That sounded really good. I listened on my AT M50X headphones and the track sound really good.
🔥👏
Bass face at Panera bread is crazy
Impressive in every way!
I love your videos ❤😎🙏🏽👍🏾
Hey man, I have TONEX too. Could you please tell me the names of those presets? Would love to know. Sounds great :)
Why the bass tracks are stereo?
TD is there a way or a gadget to record on Androids.
How do you sync the audio recording with the video
Thank you. Where to get the backing track?
I don't have an iPhone what app can I use on my android
No need to be in a studio setting

Hi! Can you make a video on how to record and mix the bass in pc, tx God bless you man.
Dope! Just went on Amazon and purchased a Tonex One.
I had to. Thx for sharing Bass man!
Sounded dope and super clean! Will definitely pursue this route in the future.
The tonex pedal can it be used on semi acoustic guitar as well please advise

Really enjoyed this video. Man you got a great tone coming out of that mobile setup!
The new studio looks amazing

Hey Travis, I know this may be random, but what are the numbers for the walk up you did in the bridge for when God shows up?
Hi Travis, what about the latency on such a configuration , are there some parameters to configure on your phone or in GarageBand ?
You can buy a used pc for 50 bucks and a used behringer soundcard for 40
I only recorded at panera bread 🫡
Travis! you fr need to make a custom bass and sell it!!!!
Sounds awesome what was one thing again and do they have that app android
bass is hard to mix correctly. Good luck
What's the track name at the recording song 2
What is the model of that folding music stand ??
future video idea, recording bass in the bass pro shop pyramid

Great video- I’m all for efficiency and using what is available. Great playing too!
Great video & fantastic playing! Couldn't you use the Tone X itself as a mobile audio interface?
You can also use the Tonex one as an Interface and go straight to your smartphone 💪. It also gets power over usb then;)
The wood and the logo of your new studio looks amazing. A suggestion is to move the bin out of the frame 😉
Not only the bass line sounds hot 🥵 😁👌 Great video and I love your bass sound and how you play!
I enjoy the video The mix was perfect question, how was you able to record the audio into the live video also I see that you have a new style I rig
Travis your dude this why I’m a follower of the channel Bro you’ve taught me something today
