Hang onto that headlight for the winter months when it gets dark early. I always added a headlight to my kids dirt bike so they could ride later into the evening on those winter nights. They would ride their dirt bikes to the end of the driveway to catch the school bus and after basketball or lacrosse practice it would be dark when they got home in the winter time. They were trail riding, not racing, I understand the weight saving aspect. I love to see kids ride!that’s something that never leaves your blood. My kids are all grown and have their motorcycle license now. It’s fun to do dual Sport rides together. The countryside looks like PA?
Saw one of these at the AIME expo a few years back, and kept comparing it to the Honda it obviously copied -and decided it was a dang good copy and looked like a nice 250 bike for the price. Glad and cool to see they’re still making them -and in other sizes besides 250 too now.
@@PopeyeUnruly they copy to make money, doing it for “parts availability” is the most hilarious thing I’ve heard 😂 you obviously don’t know how China operates. Have a good day lol
@ doesn’t work that way it’s 100% common sense because they can make they’re own designs but you have to only use their parts making universal parts with copied designs makes it easier to apply parts from anywhere. Plus coping off of peoples work doesn’t sell well or is quite tolerated.
Ha, nice. I just noticed your name and channel description at the end so I had to go have a peek. I, too, am a leo (actually, I left my shithole agency in January, and I'm pretty burned out so I may just get a part time gig to keep my cert active) with a love for hard hitting bass. I only have one BCD4, though, so you might have more of a love for it than I do. Lol. As the cherry on top, I also just bought a Chinese dirt bike. Keep thumpin brother.
I had bad luck with the chin atvs one blown motor an one broke frame so when my daughter decided she wanted a dirt bike i went to the Yamaha dealership in Birmingham an my sales guy was honest. At the time you couldn't get your hands on a new youth bike an the used junk was sky high. I went to school with one of the mechanics at the shop an he even told me to buy the ssr110dx so i did an its been great. She needs a bigger one now though.
Zongshen NC motors are pretty amazing people have put over a million miles on some of the the motors they put out including the NC 250 it has also been recorded to do over a million miles in China that's absolutely insane and I'm talking they use those motors for farm work they also build parts for Harley-Davidson and many many other bike brands internal motor parts
No complaints whatsoever, as I mentioned they are a little heavy and carbs need tweaking. Shave some weight and get the carb dialed in, you absolutely can't go wrong with the price point!
@@Basscop that's great to know thank you! I've been kicking around the idea of a new bike and had the Ssr on my radar for a year or so, just gotta pull the trigger I guess. Thanks I appreciate the reply, these great videos on the SSR bikes thank you!
23 suzukis can be found for around 6900 but they dont have e start or fuel injection. my sr 450 was 3999 in michigan cant beat that price with a stick.
Buy 2016 honda start and killswitches as the light to the start switch stays on to let you know the bike is on ya know, cause i be killing my battery before this mod just Solder the switches in its easy. For a a size 18in rim I did a Warp nine along with warp nine spokes super easy to put together and under $200 I believe for both. Also OTOM sells front sprockets but I can only find 14 & 13 tooth. But its really cool to see other SSR owners enjoying the bikes, I have a 2021 with a Lectron Carb and the above upgrades, I pretty much turned it into a trail bike. To answer the longevity question well mine still starts, still roars down the trail after 2 years of riding it.
the 22 sr 450s had that stupid cbr street bike polaris clone with a butterfly . terrible the 22 450s is a clone of the 06 to 12 honda crf 450x ..great video keep us posted on the new mods.. so far i have done levers chain and sprockets and big gun slip on exhaust . the oem chain did not even have a master link pressed on at the factory.. put a good chain and sprocket set and you will be set..
Im looking at these and the kayo. Wanting to buy my daughter her first bike. And me one to ride with her. Really like the headlight cause we will be trail riding. Im just torn on the size to get myself. Was looking at the 250s but seen ssr has a 300. Im a bigger guy 6'1 300lbs
if you decide to change carbs dont get caught up in the Lectron hype. i put one on my 22 sr 450s and it ran horrible . either idles and runs like shit or runs good and wont idle . messed with it for over 3 months. go with a fcr pumper carb..
Is yours at 5 speed or a 6-speed my sr250s 2022 is a 6-speed and no one can tell me y 😂 85 miles an hour though not complaining.... updat lol asked this question in the beginning of the video but I do have a six-speed mine is a 22

You must have a really long driveway then like a few city blocks similar to the east coast driveways or blocks.

For the money you can't go wrong! Definitely great bikes!
They copy so it’s easier to find parts

Great video. If your ever in the NC area, let me know and would love to film with yeah. Planning some track days in spring!

Nice! I only have 5 years left and they can't go quick enough! Sweet that you have AP and a Chinese thumper! Stay safe!
There's a fan kit I threw on from Amazon that will fit on your bike the radiators also from a Honda will fit the bike

RM-Z's have had fuel injection for their 250 since 2010.
