Stunningly beautiful!... What a treat to hear and see these old musical devices. I especially love the music boxes, like this one. The sound is just so clear and beautiful.
Hurrah! How pleasant is the sound of music-box. When I enjoy the melody played by music-box I get pleased. Even the bitterness of painful situation disappears when I hear the melodies played by music-box. It helps to practice playing melody on musical instruments like xylophone, vibraphone, marimba, celesta and glockenspiel. All the above mentioned musical instruments are similar in sound. Even music-box also similar to all the above mentioned musical instruments. Some antique mechanical striking clocks too played melody on built in music-box just before or soon after striking the hours on bell or gong. Even such clocks too helps to listen and practice music. Even some quartz clocks that contains electronically recorded and programmed circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker imitates the same sound of melodies played by music-box and hour strike on coiled wire gong. But it can't beat the real music-boxes and gongs.
Oh yes! "Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott" is one of the most popular Evangelic (Prostestant) church chorals in Germany where Martin Luther comes from. And me, too.
How lovely...l have just come across this..beautiful... I keep playing this wonderful piece ..what must the people who listened to this 120 years ago have thought when they heard this ?? Thanks for posting..from Dublin Ireland.
Hey can you show us some times the Musik boxes or consoles or what ever a little bit nearlyer? it would me very interresting ;) Good video i like it very much :D
The German Pronounciation of Luther is "Looter" (for UK or Global English speakers) or even better: "Loo-tah", especially for Americans. Because there is NO American "errr..." sound in the end. Please note: The "th" in German is ALWAYS pronounced "t". The "h" is silent here.
Who needs a CD when u have this... :)
