  • The first ever Youth Olympic Games (#YOG2010) was held in Singapore with the Opening Ceremony taking place on Aug 14, 2010 at The Float@Marina Bay.
During the torch relay, a boat in the shape of a phoenix carried the Youth Olympic Flame across Marina Bay with sailor Darren Choy being the final torchbearer, lighting up the cauldron.
The 32-metre tall cauldron was designed by Dr. Tsai Her-Mann, a fellow and resident inventor of the Singapore Science Centre. Designed to look like a lighthouse, its distinctive feature is a swirling 8-metre column of fire dubbed the "vortex flame" or "fire tornado". The cauldron use less than half the amount of fuel used by conventional Olympic cauldrons.

That’s a stretch. It’s Pedra Branca, btw. Singapore has sovereignty over the islet, as ruled by the International Court in the Hague.
