This was very helpful. I know its an old post but we are looking at buying a 2017 CX 5 GT in 2021 with 35,000 K's Our main concern is the cargo space and if it will be big enough for us.
Good to get 'an owner's review' and well presented too. I've seen other reviews which place a couple of negatives: cabin noise and power off/on at stops. Did you find these an issue? We hope to get the CX-5 soon. Mike in Oz ps I couldn't find any of your three monthly reviews.
mike Kay Gday. We've had the car for about 8 months now and still love it. Cabin seems totally ok. It hasn't bothered me at all. Engine stop start feature can be annoying, but if you dont brake hard at a stop it doesnt turn off...plus ypu can easily stop it all with a quick press of a button to deactivate the feature. But you do have to do that each time you start the car
Hi! Great review! I'm gonna get my 2017 CX-5 Akera next month. Just wanna ask where you got the cargo cover? It's not in the list of available accessories in the mazda website. Thanks!
Very interesting video. Could you tell me if the bonnet protector is original from Mazda? How could I get it from Spain? Congratulations on this great job
Hi Rob, very good video and I will get my CX5 in one month! I am really looking forward only little fear of consumption. Till now I had only diesel cars and now I get 2.5l petrol. Tomas
Tomáš Janata Gday. Im surpised that this 2.5l is actually very fuel efficient. However not as good as Diesel. My other car is an Isuzu Dmax with a 3L Diesel and it is exceptionally efficient.
Gday too. Tell me please what is your current consumption with this engine? My engine confuguration will be ( EU spec ) 196 HP, 256 N.m and 2 cylinder deactivation. I do not know what to expect but I hope will be OK.
Tristan Pastor we got tinting and paint protection. But if I was to do it again id get paint protection i dependently. Much more affordable and often better quality. My Fiesta ST got Opti-Coat for half the price
yah i was thinking about that. its just a bit expensive in the dealership. been watching lots of review for the GT. For you hows ur experience so far mate as a family car the GT?

Beautiful car with lots of style and class

Very interesting video.
Could you tell me if the bonnet protector is original from Mazda?
How could I get it from Spain?
Congratulations on this great job
Jingo M yes the bonnet protector was an optional extra from Mazda. I'm unsure if you can get it in spain
Why did you get the AWD? Not a lot of snow in Australia.
10tenman10 plenty of snow and icy roads in Australia.

Hi Patrick I just found this video that might help th-cam.com/video/PjZ7siDQopk/w-d-xo.html
Is the GT model a Euro option not in USA?
DrDennis77 Im not sure at all. But the GT model is available in most of the Mazda models in Australia
Yes the Grand Touring trim is available here in the U.S.
hello mate how much did you pay for the GT? thanks'
Tristan Pastor from memory it was around the $50k mark
thanks mate. planning to get one soon. did u include any window tinting and paint protection for that price?
Tristan Pastor we got tinting and paint protection. But if I was to do it again id get paint protection i dependently. Much more affordable and often better quality. My Fiesta ST got Opti-Coat for half the price

Tristan Pastor we have no complaints at all. Powerful enough, super comfortable and quite good on fuel. I don't think you'll regret it.
Whats the diffrence between GT and akera?
There are a few extras in the Akera, Mainly adaptive cruise control, but for the extra $$$ we decided it wasn't worth it for our needs
Very short man
I've had sunroofs on my last 5 cars. Absolutely never use them.
I agree too, I'm not a sunroof user but my wife loves them.
You should start. After work, music on, sunroof open, think about life. Amazing
