As always Spiffing video MrB! I was waiting for this, as I spotted you in the crowd! I must say beautiful sound coming from the Brass, specially those Cornets! I always find it fascinating how these musicians quickly go from 5 ranks wide to 3, a testament to their training and musicianship!
    The marches played were,
    1) 0:24-Arnhem
    2) 4:13-The Mad Major
    3) 6:56-Army of the Nile
    4) 10:26-Scarlet and Gold
    5) 13:36-Colchester Castle
    6) 17:07-The Great Little Army
    7) 20:20-Lass of Richmond Hill

The distance the bands cover, always leaves me in awe. Difficult, I should think for one's feet to march and one's hands to be playing an instrument. Incredible co-ordination. Glorious. Thank you Mr. Baton.

I am part of a cadet corps of drums (will not say which for my own protection) and I am the bass drummer and when we meet up to do practice nights and we are marching round the joint your feet start to hurt and my hands hurt from how ahrd I hit the bass 😂

Many thanks for another excellent video, Mr Baton, and I'm glad the never-ending rain managed to not spoil it. It's really great to be able to settle in to watching and listening to the band for such a long continuous period, and I thought that the selection of marches played was very good.

was a nice little march, weather was actually pretty warm for the Saturday, didn't start raining until I had just left the Albert Hall on Saturday night, got pretty drenched walking back to the hotel.

A great video, super sounds and visuals. Someone else also posted this outing but it’s a treat to have it shot from other angles and perspectives too. It must have been nice not to have as much dodging amongst onlookers as you usually have. Thank you for filming and sharing👍

Chelsea Barracks....only railings remain. Remember pre IRA, Guard Mounting from Chelsea. Never thought to see Coldstream Band passing old Band Office at Duke of York's HQ in Kings Road.
Wonder how many musicians knew about that? Thank you for fascinating post.

When will there be a changing of the guard at Kensington Palace again?

Hello, This wasn't a Guard Change or Guard Mount. It was the Kensington Regiments Freedom of the Borough Parade. It is the highest Honour given by any City or Borough to a Regiment, in which they are allowed to march with Rifles and Bayonets Fixed and Drums Beating. This is usually given to a Regiment that has made a contribution in defending the realm, and is usually given to a Regiment that has or had local ties to the Borough or City. Hope this helps!

Nice video. I always assumed the drum mayors lead their respected bands. This drum mayor was from the Irish guards. At least according to his plume on the bearskin.
