I’m an altar server, and prior to me entering the ministry, I loved watching the entrance procession, the servers marching down the aisle to the sanctuary. One time, I watched a procession with this music playing and it made me sob in tears of prayer that I may achieve my dreams in serving God as an altar server. I literally cried during the procession and the whole mass. Little did I know that God was gonna choose me to serve him. Now, here I am, an altar server of Christ. I can’t help but sob in this music, it’s reminiscent of where I started my serving journey. Thank you all for your support, your prayers to me. Thank you Lord God for where I am now, achieving my dreams of serving you. Pray for me that I may continue this duty. “Sacristan” 9 letters, one word. A word that not all can feel. I thank God for letting me know how it’s like to serve him. The day since I first served “February 14, 2024” will be a day I won’t forget. Even “May 21, 2024” is better. Those dates will never be forgotten. Those are the days where God let me serve him.
God indeed provides for all that we nerd. His love for us is new every morning!

At least this recording has that little piano solo between the refrain and verses. It's in the sheet music. The music minister from the church I went to when I was younger played it. For whatever reason, the official recording and many other recordings of this song don't have it for whatever reason. The song doesn't feel the same to my sister and I without it.
Taking a break from trolling to let you know that this song reminds me of a time when life didn't hurt so much.

This song always makes me break down in tears. Life hurts so horribly, but I must carry my cross and join my sufferings to his... Eventually it will be over, and we'll be together forever.
This song makes me break down in tears every time I hear it, because I imagine that I'm watching the procession into mass... Which is the only thing I get amy pleasure from anymore oddly enough.

Beautiful entrance hymn
We sing this song at my church. I haven't been able to go to Mass for some time. This song makes me ache for Mass.

Hi, yes, I believe so :-) We also used to sing it as an entrance hymn because it is quite energetic, but you are right that the lyrics are probably more suitable for communion ;-)
