That's a hard head! Insanely clean job on it. If I have to give a criticism, I'd say I'd like to hear more space on the solo. Still much better than I could do though.
hey very cool, it takes guts to put this on youtube where everyone just wants to shit on you! very nice playing. That being said i do think that ou would benefit from leaving more space and separating your ideas a bit more. It seemed to me like you had so much to say, that i didnt take anything home with me. I was flooded by all of your ideas. Try to realize that every little idea your playing is enough! its excellent, so excellent that you dont need to use so many! Be proud of your playing, let it shine, and trust in your idea so that it can develop and shine. Its one thing to have a lot of ideas, its another to develop just one. Truly the latter is much more mature as well as difficult, mentally and emotionally. Very cool voicings in your comping, but again it felt like you found the coolest voicings you could play and just threw them all together. It doesn't really unfold and flow for me. Something i do to practice this on rhythm changes is to write a half note melody to harmonize with the chords. Even if it is very simple and scalar it sounds very nice! it gives the soloist something to latch to, as well as the listener.
nate liebert Thank you for your comment. I totally agree with everything you said. This video although was recorded some time ago and I feel that my playing has evolve a bit from that. I keep it it on youtube because it is actually cool to see how you sounded in the past and why not reflect on that from this perspective. Still I value your comment! Thanks!
The nuances and playing in the cracks rhythmically are all best demonstrated by the Black Innovators and creators who were not able to use Transcribe 7 and who had to 'swing' through lives in a very racist country ,the US! The harmony hookups are good that you make but telling your own story takes balls and attitude!
Cheer~~~skill in performing tasks, especially with the hands.😊
Great playing - soloing and comping
Wow! Nicely done. Charlie Parker sounds great on jazz guitar.
Respect. I know how much dedication it takes to learn big solos like this, and pull it off with a sound group. Excellent!
Incredible
