The Master is also.... the Director.... of Sora and Riku as Kingdom Hearts. The Light of Observing the Story and "making Kingdom Hearts". Making Darkness unhidden.
The Master of Masters being the Arthur of the Book of Prophecies is a clear sign that he wanted the events of a story he has written to happen. After all, via it and the No Name keyblade, he knows every single major event which will happen and who will be involved. And with how it's known that he only written what he believed was important, it's clear that he doesn't care about what needs to happen to so that the ending he wants can be reached. Since it means that everything which happens between the writing of the Book of Prophecies and the desired outcome can be anything as long as "The fated land will be the battleground for a great war. Light will see defeat and expire, while darkness prevails evermore" happen. Namely in KH3 before Sora broke the Rules of Nature and changed fate. And with how Luxu/Xigbar's role/task has ended, its possible that the desired outcome was someone who can use the X-Blade arriving in Quadratum. Since the only secret ending of KH3 showed the Master of Masters making a heart with his hands while looking at the moon. He seeks to summon Kingdom Hearts in the world of "fiction".
But why? What could he gain by bringing light and darkness to a world without any? Unless Quadratum is truly an afterlife that would mean he's trying to kill kingdom hearts or put in a place that the true darkness's can't reach.
@@lockskelington314 If I remember correctly, MoM wants Darkness to appear in Quadratum, because the rules of Darkness and Light that apply in Sora's reality dont' exist in this city. Even if Demyx isn't MoM himself, I do still think there's going to be a connection/resemblance given all the parallels to Type-0 that I talked about in my last video. Between Nobodies, Replicas, and Data, there's tons of ways for the series to justify it while still having them be separate characters.
1.nomura really does love telling stories about people conjuring up alternate worlds to live in where all their loved ones are alive and happy and nothing bad ever happens. it makes me wonder what his youth was like, what sort of tragedies he might have gone through before joining Squaresoft. 2. ive said this before elsewhere idk if you've seen it, but the detail about MoM "writing" the entire "story" and viewing the people therein as just "characters" with "roles" to play is part of what gives me hope for kairi's future. for the longest time she barely had a character arc of her own because she was stuck playing the role of princess, damsel, typical love interest etc. and no matter how much she tried to fight it, she could never really escape that role until the Villain, Xehanort, was defeated. now that he's dead and gone, the "story" is over and kairi doesn't have to play that role anymore. none of the characters do, technically, everything's up in the air now and just about anything could happen. now kairi finally gets to figure out what she wants to do with her life, and make decisions on her own terms.
1. Yeah, we know so little about his personal life that the characterization and themes w/ MoM that I talked about the video keep making me go "Are you trying to tell us something, Nomura?" 2. That's a really great observation! I think I've seen some mentions of that idea with Kairi, but not in a whole lot of depth or in this specific context.

Hey, you discussed the Zanarkand parallel! Nice. It's no secret that Chrono Cross, FFX and KH (1) share many narrative points. They even share similar themes (water, for example). Many people have guessed that Nomura has suffered trauma at some point in his life. The KH1 intro with Darkside and FFXV & Versus XIII has the main protagonist (who looks and styles himself in a VERY Nomura way) go through near-death experiences. Also, KH2/Days/Chain has the main character(s) deal with being left out (like they don't exist to others or even the world around them, leaving basically no trace) and being (mis)used by other people. It also has them clinging to their old life, but having to deal with living in a "new" reality and never going back to their old life. I agree with you on Nomura/MoM reaching a catharsis and letting go. * I'd argue that *Kairi* and Ansem TW - along with Sora, Riku and Luxu - will be the ones to reach him. Why? Ansem with his "don't make the same mistakes I did" experience and Kairi/Ava representing the new hope
I feel like there are many things pointing towards KH doing a more straightforward meta-narrative. This whole concept of unreality, that scene in DDD where Xehanort shows Sora how many times he's been to Traverse Town, honestly I think they've even been playing with the idea of it since 2 with Roxas and his thing being in a simulation. I always thought about what this would all mean for Sora. Would he go through his Barbie "What was I made for?" moment and question how important he really is with all this being added to his inferiority complex? I never really thought about what it would mean for characters like MoM until this video, and hey people joke that's Sora's mother, but Nomura did once say he saw Sora as his son.
Ooooh, that's a cool idea. I completely forgot about that "Nomura sees Sora as his son" interview comment, but it would fit extremely well with the whole "Sora convincing his creator to end the cycle of generational trauma" element.
I always kind of dismissed Demyx's death clip as his element erupting around him, and him having the most straightforward visual element of the KH2 crew is why his looked so different. But we're also talking about the same series where an X on Sora's shirt was plot relevant, so it definitely can't be dismissed outright. If he really is the MoM (and you've got me pretty convinced he is), then that is truly a galaxy brained clue!
I really like narratives in which characters clearly present themselves or think of themselves as actors on a play. Sometimes they do work whithin the frame of a timeloop in which the right ending must be found (I'm thinking about the bad end night vocaloid series, but pmmm too) and sometimes this is a tragedy and the characters are doing their best to find a good ending (d.gray-man, since I'm watching that, pandora hearts, some manga from the 2000s like that a lot, I don't think it's purely coincidental). I think it's the perfect kind of framework to say that love is what truly matters, it's what prevents dehumanization, it's what keeps hope alive, stuff like that. Hope to see new videos from you soon
An Author that treats the everything around him like paints in his story. The connection to Drosselmeyer is very appropriate as they both don't care who they hurt so long as their narrative gets written. But given the fact that he's writing the story via controlling the narrative that leads up to each events that happen in the games I'd say he's more like a Fanfiction Author than a regular Author. Fanfiction Authors takes the characters world and story like their paints to make a painting all their own. If MoM wanted to be an Author he would have written out the story from the start and changed it accordingly to make the ending that he wants instead of cheating and seeing the future beforehand to be certain that what he wants to come to fruition instead of what would come naturally.
@@The_Violet_Howler If he was a TRUE Author he would work with the Narrative instead of trying to control it. Fanfiction can be beautiful if you write your own story bit that's not what MoM is doing, he trying to rewrite the story to meet his own vision. But just like fanfiction writers who try and rewrite a story from the very beginning to reshape it to what they wanted to be I believe that MoM will become burnt out and Sora will convince him to let go of his need for control.
I think of it this Way. The Master of Master's has seen the Heteronormative Disney True Love. He has seen the Final Fantasy Heteronormative Romance. But that isn't Truly Transformative Work. So, The Master Writes and Directs an Occult Gay Mystery True Love Romance with our Stars (literally) Sora ad Riku disguised as a Classic Disney Fairytale with JRPG overlay. For Entertainment of the People Watching. He is Controlling the Narrative because, otherwise, the Gay would be removed. The Transformation wouldn't occur. The Master is "fanfictioning" the Disney/Final Fantasy Hetnom by "creating the Kingdom Hearts that are Sora and Riku".
Glad you enjoyed the video! And yeah, there are so many parallels that over 50% of my "how the non-Versus Fabula Nova Crystallis games influence KH" video was just talking about all the major parallels between Type-0 and the KH mobile games.
Creators of games user to always plug themselves into older games. Im thinking about pokemon, where you can meet the programmers and talk with them (battle them?) I feel like this isn’t done anymore and would be really cool to include it into the end of KH (because clearly it must end soon for the love of god)
It would be really cool to get a cameo from Nomura or any of the other staff on the development team as a fun easter get (assuming we don't Sora literally going to Square's offices in KH4 lol). Based on my analysis of the themes/story structure being built up, we're probably only going to be getting Missing Link, KH4, 1 or 2 more bridge games to tie-up any remaining loose ends, and then end the series with KH5. So if the story doesn't go the "MoM is literally Nomura" route, then it would be a fun moment for Sora to run into him in Quadratum during KH4 or something like that.
About the Master using The Characters as Props, I believe he does this as appeasement to the Ancient Darkness. The Darkness Sees Characters as Tools. So, the Master marks certain Character as Tools, so The Ancient Darkness won't catch what he is actually doing. It is part of the Truce. From the Meta Perspective, The Director/ The Master has to Hide who Sora and Riku actually are from, from people who would end this World, Kingdom Hearts. So, he allows the Characters to be conduits of Money Making, and Mundane Entertainment and Hides the Light in the Resonance of Riku's Love for Sora. Basically, The Master has Coded the Characters, and because of the surface level genre they are in, they must be exposed to, and hurt by Darkness. The Conflict is a necessary evil in JRPG, the Dragons, Witches, and Thieves are a necessary evil of the Disney Fairytale. Basically, The Master must get the Ancient Darkness to Act for the Audience instead of just Destroy everything. Because he needs this World/Games to last long enough for Sora and Riku's True Love to be Realized.
I literally dropped everything I was doing edit: ngl man this video made me cry and I am not entirely 100% sure why Hears to the new streams and a great CK Season 4 in [amount of time]! also this video was posted 13 minutes ago and I was the 13th like
I just finished binging all of the episodes of Constructing Kingdoms, and dear lord do I wish I started sooner. But anyway, Howler, you mentioned towards the end of this video that you've been running dry on KH topics to cover, and I happen to have a couple of ideas if you're open to them. The Wayfinder Trio: Although this idea could be a "3-for-1", you have to admit that they all have issues - both individually and with each other - that need to be addressed. Aqua has some biases she needs to face, such as how she inherited Eraqus complete "anti-darkness" attitude, and how she seemed to regard herself as responsible for & in-charge of Ventus & Terra (partially because of Eraqus, and possibly because of personal feelings as the only female of their trio?). Not to mention, she seems traumatized from spending over a decade trapped in the Realm of Darkness, plus her time towards the end being corrupted by it... Terra most likely also has trauma regarding darkness - which he now has powers over, and this was probably amplified by the fact he spent over a decade being possessed by a creepy and manipulative old man who was supposed to be a trusted friend of his father-figure (Eraqus). Plus he also has to deal with the fact that said father-figure tried to murder Ventus simply for the nature of his existance, and that Terra wound up playing a part in Eraqus' murder in trying to stop him. And Ventus? Oof. In BBS, his heart had been damaged to the point of starting to fade, TWICE, and only survived thanks to Sora in both instances. Then there's the memory loss, learning that Xehanort was a bastard, that the Dark being that haunted him had come from him... And that's not even touching on what happened with him during the events of KHUX, and I suspect that he'll eventually remember as a way for the others to learn about the Lost Masters... Vanitas: I've noticed a lot that people don't seem to realize that, like a number of other "true" Organization XIII members, Vanitas' heart had been pulled from the past and placed into a replica body for the events of KH3. But since his heart was most likely pulled after the moment that Ventus had shattered both of their hearts, Vanitas had to go to Monstropolis to feed off of the scream energy that could be harvested there in order to repair his heart. And then there's the fact that the rules of time travel don't say that when hearts return to their time period, that they return to the state they were in before their temporal displacement - meaning that Vanitas' impromptu trip to the future could have preserved his heart. Therefore, his whereabouts after BBS seem to be up in the air, meaning there's potential for him to return in future games... What had gotten me thinking about it was actually the final conversation Vanitas has with Sora & Ventus after his defeat in the Keyblade Graveyard. He had claimed Sora & Ventus to be his brothers, yet when Sora questions why he fights against them and sided with Darkness, Vanitas had claimed that while he was Darkness, that he was by their side as the shadow they cast... it got me wondering if he was being more literal than I first thought. And the fact that he seemed content(?) with the outcome of their fight makes me more suspicious. And honestly, I feel like things have been building up for there to be some kind of dynamic between him and Sora. From Vanitas being an actual Darkness from the Age of Fairytales, to him looking like Sora due to a connection between them that hasn't really been expanded upon much. Plus, in the Graveyard, in the conclusion of their final conversation, Ventus had accepted Vanitas' explanation regarding his choices while Sora wanted to keep pushing on it. To me, it felt like a chapter closing between Vanitas and Ventus, while things between Vanitas and Sora are still unfinished in a sense. Of course I could be wrong, maybe Vanitas will come back firmly as an enemy or obstacle, or maybe he won't come back at all, but I think there are decent odds...
Thank you so much for your comment! I’m glad you enjoyed my video. I appreciate the suggestions, but it’s not that I’m running out of ideas for KH videos. It's that I haven’t had time to finalize which ones I'll be doing in Season 4, or to write the scripts for the ones I _have_ decided on. For previous seasons, I had all my topics chosen for the next batch before I went on hiatus so that I could spend my break finishing up the scripts, which I’d already started writing while recording the current season. But around the time I began recording Season 3, I started working full time, which has left me with significantly less time on my hands to work on all my personal projects. So, while I’ve got a list of 34 different topics that I want to potentially make videos out of, only 2 scripts are actually finished (or close to it), and I plan on saving one for a future season instead of my next one. So I need more time to get all my ducks in a row and finish more scripts before I'm ready to start recording again XD
Theory for you. There is a conversation that The Master of Masters has with Young Xehanort about " if he is a Fortuneteller?". He says he could lie and say he is that when he is a Brilliant Artist or a Scholar. And then he drops the Truth is what you See with your Eyes. And I realized The Master of Masters is.... a Director. (he is an Artist and a Scholor of Disney/Final Fantasy/ The Real/the Mystery) So, in the Secret Movie in KH3, Our Director stands on the Square Enix building. And he is framing the Moon. Now, as you know, Data Riku as Jimmy Journal is Re Coded Narrative, literally. And is directly correlated to the Book of Prophecies. So Riku is the Narrative Frame that MoM makes with his Hands. The Master directs Riku's Light to illuminate the Hidden and try to capture the Moon. (setting the camera). The Moon is Sora, as Tennelle said. (also, seen in Re Coded) Then, the Director makes a Kingdom Hearts on the Moon. Riku is correlated to Kingdom Hearts/Disney Magic so many times it isn't funny. And because the Kingdom Key of Riku (His Heart and Light and Will) is in Sora, The Master/ our Director is showing us the Child of Destiny and the way he made them Exist. And this is placed in the context of The True Kingdom Hearts and Cosmic Forces. The PLOT. Sora and Riku in Romantic Love is literally Kingdom Hearts, the Story. Namine is also an Artist. And I think I know why. Namine is created for Sora's Heart and Body. And Sora had The Ancient Darkness that was called Vanitas, Ventus, Kairi, and this is Important, Riku's Light in him. So, Namine is what happens when Soriku Resonance (Kingdom Heart Story/Love as Art) filters though Kairi's form and casts a Shadow in the Ancient Darkness. And What is Namine? I believe Namine is an in-universe Fanfiction Artist/Creator. She takes the Story of Sora and Riku's Past and KH1(the Story of Kingdom Hearts) and Self Inserts to try to capture that Light. (True Love Romance) But Nomura is good Director, and therefore, Namine has to use the Narrative (The Memories/ Story of the Past) that is already there. So, Namine uses Riku to call Sora to the place that would have shown him Riku is his Light, the Person he loves. (Castle Oblivion) Then, she inserts herself gradually into the Story as the Illusion Story. (She is pulling a Darkness using the True Light) That is what she is from a higher perspective. She is a Fanfiction Artist trying to overshadow the Original Story. She is the Shadow of Kairi, who Unconsciously wanted to be what Riku is Unconsciously to Sora and have the Love Riku has for Sora. She Drew a Fantasy that would allow her to take Sora and Riku's True Love Destiny. But Riku's Light grew her Heart and made her feel Guilt. So, she turned it around. So, what is this to Me? The Master created these Cycles to make Sora and Riku. It is an Occult Romance Mystery. The Master is created the conflict that actually causes True Love Romance. The Prince of the Sun and the Human of the Earth. But he is Acting the Antagonist. Because that will get him his True Love Romance as Mystery. He Believes in this. After all, He has Seen the Astral Plane.... All those Stories... he knows the Tropes.
If the character's are planning to visit their creator then it isn't just Tetsua Numora that we can physically see show up in the games, but also...WALT DISNEY.

That's a neat idea! I hadn't thought of it that way before!
The Master is "fanfictioning" the Disney/Final Fantasy Hetnom by "creating the Kingdom Hearts that are Sora and Riku".
such a refreshing conversation on MoM. also i didn't know that fact about demyx's model! i'll have to look into type zero. anyways, loved the video!
Im thinking about pokemon, where you can meet the programmers and talk with them (battle them?)
I feel like this isn’t done anymore and would be really cool to include it into the end of KH (because clearly it must end soon for the love of god)
@@The_Violet_Howler that would be a huge punch in the face! 2002 had it coming that it was Nomura all along
That's a really interesting idea!!!
I literally dropped everything I was doing
edit: ngl man this video made me cry and I am not entirely 100% sure why
Hears to the new streams and a great CK Season 4 in [amount of time]!
also this video was posted 13 minutes ago and I was the 13th like
I just finished binging all of the episodes of Constructing Kingdoms, and dear lord do I wish I started sooner. But anyway, Howler, you mentioned towards the end of this video that you've been running dry on KH topics to cover, and I happen to have a couple of ideas if you're open to them.
The Wayfinder Trio:
Although this idea could be a "3-for-1", you have to admit that they all have issues - both individually and with each other - that need to be addressed.
Vanitas:
I've noticed a lot that people don't seem to realize that, like a number of other "true" Organization XIII members, Vanitas' heart had been pulled from the past and placed into a replica body for the events of KH3.
Ah, that makes sense. Then I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ll have next, whenever it’s ready.
Theory for you.
There is a conversation that The Master of Masters has with Young Xehanort about " if he is a Fortuneteller?". He says he could lie and say he is that when he is a Brilliant Artist or a Scholar. And then he drops the Truth is what you See with your Eyes.
And I realized The Master of Masters is.... a Director. (he is an Artist and a Scholor of Disney/Final Fantasy/ The Real/the Mystery)
So, in the Secret Movie in KH3, Our Director stands on the Square Enix building.
(also, seen in Re Coded)
Then, the Director makes a Kingdom Hearts on the Moon.
(True Love Romance)
But Nomura is good Director, and therefore, Namine has to use the Narrative (The Memories/ Story of the Past) that is already there.
So, Namine uses Riku to call Sora to the place that would have shown him Riku is his Light, the Person he loves. (Castle Oblivion)
Then, she inserts herself gradually into the Story as the Illusion Story. (She is pulling a Darkness using the True Light)
That is what she is from a higher perspective.
That's a really interesting idea!
If the character's are planning to visit their creator then it isn't just Tetsua Numora that we can physically see show up in the games, but also...WALT DISNEY.
Glad I'm not the only one to have this thought lmao
Here me out what if the MoM is the fusion of Tetsua Numora and Walt Disney
another amazing video!!! its also a great stopping point too, especially before you guys playing the games! my fav bit of this video is just how many different metaexample from so many series you found similar to MoM! but, i gotta say, that one mentallo comic pages sure were eyebrow raising without context. speedo clad hunk with huge tits telling his author "pls dont go. look at my tits and ass. they'll make you feel better" lmao
They are going to tokyo in unreality so they can find tetsuya nomura
