I'm sat here many years later, still remembering that this is my all time fave show dance. I always find that showdances are more like musical acrobatic demonstrations with as many tricks thrown in a possible - Camilla knew she had a partner that LOVED dancing, and went okay - show. DANCE. She showed his love for dancing and his skill. Beautiful and fantastic. Still can't get over it.
For me, the reason why this one stands out is because Camilla wasn't afraid to make it about Tom. This was Tom's dance, to make sure Tom won. It takes a lot of courage, I think, for the pro to step back and give that to their partner. And he just shone.

Great dance ,especially the first few moments when Tom leaps off the stage and dances like the happiest man on earth . Glorious. Still my favourite dance 12 years on.
Were you to select one number from the history of this show to represent it at its very best then this would be it. The choreography, the musicality, the song and the personalities of the dancers are woven together with such majestic seamlessness that it's absolute perfection. Magical.
10/10. Everything we are looking for in the show dance. A huge variety of dance content showcasing the many fantastic dance routines Tom & Camilla are capable of doing. So much performance and entertainment, the lifts that were absolutely sensational but the clever trick is to not make the lifts the core of the dance routine - they did just that. It was so fabulous, I am in awe of how good that was!
Ooh memories! I think this was the first series I watched the whole way through and actually understood how the show worked (before anyone says anything I was 10 at the time!) Been a massive SCD fan ever since Tom Chambers won!!!
FAB U LOUS! I absolutely loved this dance, well done to Camilla for the fab choreography and to Tom for his great interpretation. This dance also made me want Tom to win - it was just so enjoyable. :-D
Watching Tom dance always wants to make me dance as well. He looks like he is enjoying it so much, I can't help but enjoy it aswell. Everytime I watch this, I love it more. I'm so glad they won!

This dance was incredible - they won because of this show dance. I loved it. Rachel and Vincent were amazing throughout the last few weeks and she is a brilliant dancer, but after seeing this dance I HAD to vote for Tom. It was stunning.
Camilla is the star here- she choreographed this amazing routine, picked the fantastic song and danced it fantastically. Was Tom the best dancer in the final? No he was third best, but this showdance was fantastic!

I could watch this over, and over, and over again! The best dance EVER on strictly... and to think that Vincent and Rachel chose to dance to the Flashdance Theme tune - oh dear, they stood no chance! Camilla's choreography was stunning, energetic, classic and fun, she's brilliant! And Tom is such a charming performer, i love this! x
That was still a great showdance, Lisa and Brendan were the ones that broke it, trying a pro-exhibition dance with no ballroom or Latin mixed in, huge mistake.

Well put, there's a combination of factors to win. My dad was a Rachel/Vincent fan from the first show - but as soon as he saw the two showdances, he picked up the phone and started voting for Tom and Camilla. :D
I like Rachel but oh my days. Tom so deserved to win after this dance. WOW. I thought Alesha Dixon's was brillant in the final last year but this is in a different league. Camilla did a brillant job too. Well done. Lets not forget Camilla. Thank you BBC for the great show that is Strictly Come Dancing. Love ya Tom. Well done.
Tom definate deserving winner, i screamed when he one i was so excited. That dancing is soooo hard to do, i do it at my perfomring arts and its so hard you can only understand when u do it urself. xx
4 years on and still no Strictly showdance has ever come close to rivalling this. Yes we like lifts and tricks, but not to the point that they eclipse the actual dancing. This is still the benchmark.
This was the year the voting in the semi-final went wrong. Tom Chambers was going out and then Bruce and Tess had to admit to a big mistake and Tom was in the final. I remember the other two couples went all high concept, but Tom went for this routine and I was so pleased because he is a thoroughly nice guy and had really blossomed on the show. It was no fluke because he has starred in a couple of West End hits with a similar theme.
Wow. Loved this. Particularly enjoyed a couple of little nods to classic Fred and Ginger routines...[I was watching them while waiting for this video to go up:)]
I never voted at all in strictly or in this 2008 series, but after watching this, I had to pick up the phone. It really made me smile, Loved it!!!!! Well deseved win. Racheal was also very good (in fact excellent) but many I have spoke to feel she had advantage of being in s club seven, who had to perfrom gruelling dance routines every week.
Aww, I could watch this all day! Really makes me smile. Have to congratulate Camilla on the perfect choreography - their personalities really shone through on this show dance. It was in a different league to Rachel and Vincent's freestyle - too many lifts and not enough personality. Well done Tom and Camilla! :D
camilla took toms passion.. and made a fantastic dance..this dance to me took everything from series and rolled into final..sometimes passion dances better than steps
For the showdances, the couples are not given scores, they are given comments from the judges, but I think primarily they are designed for the viewing public as to show off who is the most 'entertaining' couple. Although Rachel and Vincent probably had more ability, this was far more interesting and why Tom and Camilla won in the end.
I think Rachel was technically the better dancer but she was in a singing/dancing pop group so it was already her thing. Tom just has that certain something that its hard to define....yes a pure torville and dean moment.....Tom has it all...wow i think i'm in love!!!

Fabulous showdance. Camilla is an amazing choreographer. I miss her, Karen, Lilia and all the originals.
