so what´s going to happen with the pipes? just cap them? im looking a video that can explain what can I do if I remove a baseboard what to do with the pipes?
I want to permanently remove my baseboard heating system. Is there a way to cut and cap the water pipes at or below floor level? The boiler has been drained and no water pressure on the lines. Thanks
@@Rackzzy?rodent? Really? But they are sealed how the heck do they come in? I never heard anyone say this. And what is everyone replacing these with. ? Thanks
Thinking of doing this on the ground floor of my house. The upper floor has a heat pump, but the lower floor still has baseboard. I've been eyeing a multi zone Mitsubishi hyper heat system to reduce heating costs and get rid of the old baseboard heaters.
I reinstalled new baseboards, these were filthy and nasty. The hyper heat is nice. Installed them in places without cooling. Yet not the same as baseboard perimeter heat. You're looking to spend money on a hyper heat. Why not just get a Lockinvar 98% boiler and your heating cost will drop drastically, while not reducing your comfort.
I am replacing the outer shells for now. The old ones have been painted over many times. I also misplaced the front covers. Future plan is radiant yet currently don’t want to hear my wife complain of the exposed heating elements.
I use air acetylene for most of what I torch. I like the control and smaller more precise flame. Yet will use propane sometimes, it is good enough for soldering, plus nice light little tank. B tanks are heavy, mc tanks easier to move around with. Soldering Lead-Free Ball Valve th-cam.com/video/dCuMWVH00yg/w-d-xo.html
The builder didn't finish the sheetrock before installing the rads. It may have to be mudded and sanded if the new rads are more compact. The new rads may not cover all the unfinished wall. It's not a big deal, just more work for the Hacker.
Tell the wife there is a charge for all that hard work. And just for my information, where did you get your fire blanket or where could I order one from? Stay safe out there and get that money.
Always fun separating these when caulked behind to the Sheetrock. I am doing my first floor. As I catch up on some work I can start getting some longer vids uploaded
I’m disconnecting sweat joints therefore not brazing. 95/5 soft solder or pro press is the way to go on boiler piping. Yet if a joint gets brazed not sure if the carbon would do anything. Most likely just get washed out of the system when purging out the air. Refrigeration/ ac brazed joints it is good to purge. Unless staybrite 8 is used, not enough heat to create the carbon inside the pipe.
Made it look easy!! Nice one! Thanks as always sir!

just what the dr ordered thanks much my fellow handiman.
Is there any way to remove the back covers without draining down the heat and removing the copper fins?

What kinda flame protector is that? Looks to be the only one ive ever seen that isnt a total piece of crap
It's an asbestos pad.
We need a video about how to remove these permanently and get the boiler back up and running for us plumbers who dont have experience with boilers
Does water need to be drained first if ?.. if so from where may i ask.. the heter it self?
yes, you need to drain the water by the valve that is generally by your furnace.
What are you gonna put in there? First time I see this style of heaters

@@thehvachacker did you have to remove the fins to replace the casing?
My hot water baseboard in the basement is mounted to the concrete block walls with Ramset fasteners. Will they come out the same way?
what are you replacing them With?
How do I check it when they not warming up?
The Hacker does amazing work ! He is such a genius ! He takes no prisoners!!
Did you use propane or MAPP gas? Is propane okay for a DIY project?

It's awkward to watch brazing without nitro purge after so many HVAC videos.
