Ever since I watched *_Two Cars, One Night_* back in 2009 I've become a fan Taika Waititi's work and fell in love with him after I watched *_What We Do in the Shadows_* So happy that he finally getting the recognition that he deserves. Phew what a journey.
What We Do in the Shadows is one of the best comedies of all times

Satire is to use irony or absurdism to point out fucked up societal flaws. Like John Swift giving British Parliament a bunch of recipes on how to cook and eat babies to help with Irish immigration in the 1800s. It comes from the word satyr in ancient greece, deviates back to Dionysus plays. Don't be one of those sick fucks who mistakes farcical for satirical, no one will care but it's still FUCKIN LAME DUDE

WAIT! Was he supposed to make an Akira film!? I think Taika is very much like James Gunn, one of the few people who can/could actually turn comics and anime into actually good live movies.
He's been talking about it for years, he loves Akira.
By lobotomizing the heck out of them and turning them into complete schlock, yeah, right. You do understand this guy's a total hack, just like Gunn, and they've never made a faithful comic adaptation in their entire lives?
@@antona.1327 yeah, he hasn't made a big comic adaptation, but Waikiki has made two well regarded book adaptations, Hunt for the wilderpeople and of course, Jo Jo Rabbit... both of which he wrote from the books...and he got an oscar for the best adapted screenplay. He's also a huge fan of the Akira comic, so he knows the material.
Akira has been waiting for too long for an adaptation, and by now all its components are stolen into other Western world movies/TV shows. For example the "psychic kids" into Fringe, and nowadays into Stranger Things (Eleven). Being quite convinced Taika could do a good adaptation, I hope no one ever will touch Akira. Let's preserve it as is: a great manga, and a decent anime.
p.s. I recommend to read Nail Gaiman's "Goldfish Pool", and some docu material about why there is no Half-Life movie adaptation. And after that think of your favorite book/comic/classic movie/game and pray for "No modern adaptation please".
p.s. 2: I hope Vin Diesel never will manage to reboot Big Trouble In Little China. I hope...

I can always watch Master and Commander. At anytime of the day, no matter what I am doing, it can wait until master and commander has ended. Awesome movie, was supposed to be a trilogy, but no one understood it’s genius.

@aljanat5 je suis français, je ne connais pas tous les film cité, mais j'aimerais les regardé =) , je ne c'est pas si tous ceux que tu dit et vraix mais moi aussi j'ais plein de scrip dans ma tête mais j'hésite à les écrire, sinon si tous et faux et bah j'ais envie de dire bonne blague anglaise ;p ah ah humour anglaise j'adore. je suis de l'époque des casette vidéo VHS et appris à grandir avec les Cd et DVD puis maintenant internet .
au passage j'ais des idée pour la suite de certain film comme district 9 ou Unbreakable / incassable et j'aurais aimais voir un vieux film français au cinémas avec fantômas =)

I'm not going to try to lie and pretend like I know Taika since Green Latern, because I had no idea who he was and I haven't watched the whole film, but I got to know more about him in Thor Ragnarok and got super fucking impressed with what a magical mystery tour he did with the Thor saga, but I will genuinely (like anyone give a ....) admit before the Oscar's even happen, I find Taika quiet.....you know what no, I think Taika Waititi is really handsome, his look and stare intimidates me, kind of like Joaquin Phoenix and Bill Burr combined, which is a deadly combination, his jaw looks tempting and his voice could be one of cupid's arrows and his persona is just something i kind of like very much.
Bong Joon Ho direct Duce Bigelow 1, 2 , and 3, then went back to his roots lol. Legit laughed out loud.

So gutted that the 'maybe I'm doing something' with Time Bandits is now a no he isn't. Terry Gilliam said no and got all precious over it. Taika would be the perfect person to put Time Bandits into a TV series format, and Time Bandits is a film that would really suit the format in a Quantum Leap way.
You probably already know this, but he and Jemaine are working on Time Bandits as we speak. Coolcoolcool

Quel dandy ! Il a fait de l'excellent boulot sur The Mandalorian et Jojo Rabbit est excellent, un peu wtf mais on sent qu'il y a un gros travail d'écriture. J'espère qu'il continuera à faire de bons projets de son côté (ou qu'il prendra en main TOUTE la trilogie Star Wars à venir).
