Quiet luxury is a trend just like anything else. LOL. People are never going to stop wanting to wear logos or dress vibrantly. Not everyone is a minimalist and not everyone wants to fade into the background. But also! The glee I felt when I saw this new video in my recommendations was beyond. You’re THAT GIRL, Cassie. ❤

But fashion is cyclical what going on now with this fake quiet luxury trend is what was done in the 90s but for some reason people despise it now than in the 90s. Minimalism and quiet are not the same and I follow some people who love a “quiet luxury” moment that don’t fade into the background”
Yeah and some people just enjoy riding the wave .. I’ve always color blocked. Thought it was interesting when many people suddenly did it and I imagine they just had a little fun they wouldn’t have had with it had it not been a trend and that’s fine. I still enjoy it and most of them Likely wouldn’t be caught dead with it now 😂

@marlenejennifer3514 I totally agree that fashion is cyclical. Understated one minute, statement the next - it seems to follow political/ economic up and down turns, imho. I think a lot of people love the aesthetic of quiet luxury but dislike the rhetoric as it smacks of elitism. I'm definitely into simple, understated, but well cut clothing, but it doesn't have to be neutral in colour.
It’s giving Zara with luxury accessories, the crystal bags and shoes were the only thing that excited me! Alessandro Michele was a genius.
My only complaint is Zara doesn’t have quality. I have had to darn Zara. That is why I stick with Banana Republic.

The cuts are better. Some silhouettes are elevated design from basic. Tbh alessandro is good at dressing but when it comes to piece by piece products, he has no talent (sorry to say)

I actually loved the collection - from a commerciality perspective, I feel it can retain the Michele girl whilst gain back the Tom Ford customer. Not loving the new buckle on the Jackie though - it’s giving Rebecca Minkoff!

I love the play suit EVEN MORE than when I first saw it, and the flatforms are fabulous. I don’t think Gucci is cut out for the quiet luxury game, tho. I’m interested to see how all the bottom revealing items translate from runway to rack. There’s got to be an awareness that they just won’t work in the real world, i.e., 90% of their customer base. Also looking forward to the costume jewelry reveal. Ah, well, waiting for pre-order, and we’ll see how it goes. Happy week to you, lovely girl! ❤❤❤

Designer items need to be noticed! Otherwise they risk being in that contemporary category. You are spot on. I didn’t see much that I liked in this collection. Alessandro Michele was a genius and made Gucci appeal to the masses. The success of Marmont is testament to this fact. This collection is taking Gucci into a different direction.

I love the burgundy patent leather and the bubblegum pink Jackie bags, along with the lime green. I also like that the have two tones of monogram; one cool toned and one warm toned, as I can see people buying both and styling them with various outfits.
Loving the platforms, but I'm going to avoid them, as I got my hip replaced 2 weeks ago and I really don't want to mess up my surgeon's good work. 😂
I think Gucci knocked it out of the park as far as what they were trying to go for. There are quite a few things I could style with my funkier pieces. I'm not a quiet luxury gal, but as long as there's styling possibilities, I can deal with things being more toned down. I also think that this collection will appeal to a broader base than the wilder Gucci collections of years past, as not everyone is as out of the box as I am. I think this collection is more wearable for a larger audience. Also, one of the things Gucci still has going for it is that they have luxury fashion at different price points (unlike Chanel, Dior and LV, which have had such large price increases lately). There are things in this collection that will appeal to just about everyone.

The embossed logo on the burgundy piece was beautiful. There were tiny hints here and there of the classic logo for the traditionalists. I am definitely terrified of what the price points will be.

When you said that they were intending on being more inclusive, I guess inclusive means different things to different people. Certainly they didn’t mean size inclusive. We certainly don’t want my massive bum hanging out of those shorts or maybe I should get them just to teach them a lesson. I thought they perhaps would be more like some of the other design houses from Italy. Dolce and Gabanna and Versace are actually very much size inclusive. I usually have to do some tailoring, but I have something to start with. My heart will always belong to the Italians, though, so likely, I will grab a purse or some shoes.
I loved it ! I think it was nice, fresh, tasteful ! The bags were a chef's kiss! Combines Tom Ford and vintage vibes in a minimal way.

I really like the new direction, and as you discovered dissecting each look, there is a lot that isn't "quiet luxury" (I can barely say that without gagging) and is really up your alley. The Tom Ford references and vibes were great, and there was something for everyone (except when it comes to those mini shorts/skorts... I loved the look but it's hard to imagine anyone wearing them IRL).

Having hit 40 this year I can say without a doubt trends come n go and they rotate. Quiet luxury might be having its moment now but just as it did 10 years ago too people will get bored and will want to see something more and we’ll end up back at the maximalist era. people now too are smarter and think and question whether the quiet luxury trend put out by luxury fashion brands justifies the price what luxury fashion charges when in many cases it could and feel like it came from any fast fashion brand. Unlike loud fashion such Michele’s runway collections w Gucci, u could see the detailing and what your money was paying for.

I saw this collection & I was not too crazy about the shortest of shorts that were in abundance but I did like the pretty crystal bag & tops etc. I love the fringey swish of the skirts. The shoes were quite lovely. But other than that it didn’t set me on fire. I ❤ the look of a play suit or a jump suit but I don’t buy them purely for practicality.

I do love a good embellishment, but simple, well cut clothing is more difficult to master as there's no where to hide! And while I'm more an understated kind of girl, I do think you can get a lot of wear out of more statement pieces if chosen well. Having said that I'm into understated, there's definitely something I love about some Gucci - it all stems from a Gucci perfume (Eau de Gucci), that is sadly no longer made and the navy monogram with red stripe from the packaging, so basically anything navy/ red with gucci vibes is totally me! That east/ west bag (the one worn with the peacoat) is soooooooo good, and exactly what I love!
Those swooshy glittery fringes!! I think that no logos doesn't automatically mean "quiet * barf* luxury". I'm not a logo person for the most part, but at the same time I love loud...more in the form of cut/shape, colour, embellishments, or print. The nursing homes can keep their Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli, and The Row for their lawn bowling parties.

Actually liked a lot from this collection although most of it was a play on many archive designs and patterns. I happen to love loafers and I liked that they were a theme through most of the runway designs. Shows how versatile they can be if you invest in a classic pair. The platform ones are not for me, but I have already bought a pair from the collection with chunky rubber soles. We have snowy winters where I am and they will be great for that. Loved to see they also brought back the 1953 version of their loafers. I had totally forgotten that I own a pair. Unused.....(a shoe lover with too many shoes ha,ha) so I can finally shop my own closet.

I like alot of this gucci collection. A fair bit of it is more wearable for your everyday gucci customer who doesn't feel confident enough to wear the over the top Michele designs. I think this new era will do well. May not wow as much but will cater to more tastes.
So happy for this video. Even though some of the maximalism was OTT, I’m a die hard Michele Gucci fan! However, I was keeping a very open mind and really looking forward to this debut. I like the color palette, but I’m overall underwhelmed. I think what turns me off the most is the size of the shorts and skirts and the small chest areas!

The shorts could look amazing with stockings or nylon stocks under, not bare as shown at the runway. With proper stockings and a long coat it is very spring/ autumn.
I love this collection. I hate screaming labels cos I think the clothes wear the person not the other way around. I put my horsebit bag up for sale when i saw they were reissued. Kinda regretting it now. Went to someone working at Dior in London.
