I've been making facemasks with my fabric scraps. My sister, her hubby, his brother and mother are leaving for London in a months (for 6 months medical treatment for one of them) so I plan on making several more facemasks as going away presents for them.
Always enjoy your projects! I’ve found that gently cleaning the needle (while in place) with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol will easily remove the glue from the velcro. Just gently move the cotton ball up and down the needle. No need for a new needle.
Love these ideas Janelle, I made some pattern weights with bits of spare fabric and filled with rice, i made them in a triangular pyramid shape about 3” size triangles, I gave sets of weights to my sewing friends which they loved, kept one set for myself as well x
You are the first Skill Share video I have watched. I loved the projects you taught and the simplicity and short length of time. Thanks for increasing my world. Barb
Disposable straws are really important for disabled people. Reusable straws don't bend and hold their shape, are difficult to clean, and have to be remembered. Disposable straws can allow someone to drink if they are laying down, always come sterile, and are typically readily available. It's important to try to reduce personal waste and consumption, but that really shouldn't come at the cost of disabled people's quality of life. That being said, these were very cute ideas for smaller bits of fabric!
I've seen places that ask if you need a straw when you pick up your drink, which feels like a great middle road. It should always be an option for accessibility sake. (And straw bans are awful.) But most people who don't need one don't bother to get one so it greatly reduces the number which are used.
The needle booklet can also be made with a pinked cover. I'd recommend still doing a straight stitch around just inside of the pinked edge, so that there can't be any thread-snag accidents.
I'm in love with all Your ideas of making those beautiful things! I've made many those things and I love it! Thank You for sharing Your talent and ideas💛🧡
Love the channel! It's really helping as a beginner dressmaker 😁 I would love a video of what types of fabric are good for certain types of clothes. In lockdown I can only buy online at the moment and I have no idea what I'm doing 🙊
Thank you so much, I really really love ❤️ all those projects you have made today. I really really love ❤️ the needle book, as I can never find a needle 🪡 when I need one!!!!! And the pouch is really really awesome 👏 Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
The pouches are adorable! I am going to make them in twos, sew velcro on the backs so I can attach two together for associated items... Edit: ..and perhaps add some velcro to a board so I can have them all attached and organised, ready to go at any time..
Love your videos I find them so calming and always look forward to them. Could you include a knitting needle holdall or bag in one of you projects please. x
An easier way to cut a circle is to fold your fabric into quarters and measure from the apex fold out to whatever you want your measurement to be. You will be using the radius measurement plus seam allowance. Saves a lot of time in measuring & cutting.
Thank you for the round cushion tutorial. I've been busy with a round floor cushion and been struggling to find a tutorial for a cover including a zip. After seeing yours, I took the plunge and it worked so well. Looks so amazing. I did take the long route though and put my zip on while my material was still a rectangle and only thereafter did I trim it down to match the front circle. Couldn't afford for the measurements to be off cause I don't have much of the material anymore. Just wanted to say thank you.
Ha ha, you just popped into my mind as I was watching TH-cam, and up came your notification. Thanks for the share. Love your ideas. Cheers, have a lovely day 😁
Thanks for your projects! I love seeing them pop up on your feed. :) I have just a couple of questions ... 1. Re: Round cushion. I noticed that there appears to be puckering around the edge of cushion. Would nicking or small Vs to ease the sides together once the cushion inset is inserted stop the puckering, &/or would piping be another answer to this issue. I also prefer feather inserts for my square and oblong cushions, but would the feathers give the same soft and a more quality finish to the round cushion, or would it spoil the appearance? If so, would say 60% feather to 40% poly filling be better suited to it? 2. Re: Needle case. Do you think that a double sided cover with a later of felt in-between the layers provide a better quality cover for the cover? Is there a reason that you used regular felt as opposed to Doctor's flannel? Do you think that a little tab with Velcro on each side keep the air from getting to the needles? I live right on the edge of the beach in Hervey Bay and I've found that a few of my needles have gone a tad rusty, as have a few pins, if left exposed to the air. I also have a couple of crystal bowls whose lids I've managed to break, so I was wondering if I should turn one into a largish pin cushion, glued inside the bottom of the bowl, or if i should use one that still has an undamaged lid? Although I have thought that I was buying stainless steel, and quality brands of threads and needles, they still manage to rust. It's just occurred to me that if I sew in a couple of the small silica gel packets of beads, both in the crystal pin cushion, and inside the needle case inside cover, it may assist to resolve this matter. I'll certainly be rather chuffed if they work as I think they should! :) Thanks again for all of your suggestions, Cheers, Wendy M.

Love that! I made facemasks for everyone in my household last summer!
You can clean the adhesive off the needle with a cotton ball dipped in rubbing alcohol.
Thank you for this.
Oh my godddd!!!!! that needle holder will literally save me so much agony, love that you can add more felt pieces if needed!! love your content!!
The needle holder is such an awesome and cute idea!
Nothing worse than sewing through sticky velcro! I only made this mistake once 🤣 love the 10min makes 😍
Me too! What a mess I made.
Me too!! It was a mess! Lol
Good to know 😅☺️
Alcohol wipes are helpful for cleaning needle. But definitely use the non sticky Velcro or a snap.
Same! 😅

True! Mine was already pretty blunt after making some instruction books for my sewing patterns - the Velcro was the final straw 😂
Love these ideas Janelle, I made some pattern weights with bits of spare fabric and filled with rice, i made them in a triangular pyramid shape about 3” size triangles, I gave sets of weights to my sewing friends which they loved, kept one set for myself as well x
Ooh I need to make myself some of those! Such a good idea 😍

Those fabric pouches are so versatile! They can hold scrap fabric, small projects, snacks on the go, etc. They're a portable pocket!
I LOVE these videos so much! When you have mountains of beautiful fabric leftovers that you can't part with, these quick turorials are the answer 😍

Thanks for the info! That’s helpful to know, and I totally agree 🧡
Silicone straws are a great bendy option :)

That needle holder is so cute. Love the fabric.

Lovely makes thanks 😊
thank you for this video!
Like the needle holder
Did you purposefully not include a seam allowance for the cushion cover, or did you include it and forget to mention it? 😊
I purposely didn’t add a seam allowance, as I find it makes the cushion cover too loose for the insert 😊
I love this series
I’m definitely making the needle holder.
Such great ideas. Thank you
Thanks so much 🧡

Supper 10 minit craft mam
Beautiful🌼👍
very very cute
If I use stick on velcro, I leave it to dry for 24 hours at least. Then I sew it on with no problem.
Great tip!
