Must say, this might be the very best channel for Giulietta-Owners, so many helpful tips, although I got the german version, left steering, but doesn´t matter. Please carry on, I will use some of those by the time. Much better than any handbook I guess. PS. mine is just 5 years old, mostly not needed yet but the time will come... And a lovely car, seems to be constructed repair-friendly
Mate thanks for all your Alfa uploads I've learnt loads from you and given me the confidence to go ahead and DIY my car and save alot of money all the best
I needed this video today as I've put a 2018 Veloce front bumper on my 2015 QV. Hands down, this is the best "how to" channel for the Giulietta on TH-cam. Thanks so much Tony.
Nice, just got a QV line and want to update the grille , very similar to my old GT in terms of bumper removal , good to have a nice clear video though, avoids any nasty surprises ...👍🏻
Your videos are so satisfying. You have very steady hands, watching you do it feels like an easy job, but an average idiot will suffer a lot, I know that from experience. :) Another thing is the tools, there is so many things I need to buy. :) Thanks for a brilliant content you have here.
One thing I noticed today when changing over my headlamps, is that you can adjust the height of the bumper relative to the bonnet by removing the fixing bolts, and using the 55mm torx in the fixing hole. By tightening the secondary torx inside the fixing the opposite way to the fixing bolt, you can adjust the height of the bumper fixing, and the panel gap with the bumper.
Thanks Michael. Hope you’re enjoying them. Please subscribe for more if you haven’t already. Lots more planned including the upcoming MOT this month. Thanks.
Did my badge other day heat gun and flat head screwdriver. Really useful video mate also I would stay youre cars had a replacement bumper at some stage hence the missing screw and tipex writing behind it but nice for ten years old
Thanks and yeah, I thought the same about the bumper too. I know the car had a headlight changed at a dealers once upon a time, so it may have been protocol to Mark it up then, but yes I agree. Thanks for your comment. Appreciate it.
Hey Tony, Love your Giulietta series. I found it very clever you used the abs to bleed the brakes! :D Did you find it hard to line up the panel lines after doing this? i want to remove the bumper to get to the fog lights so I can sand a spray them to match the paint of the car so I won't have to worry about them oxidising anymore, as well as maybe changing the front grill to honeycomb however I'm worried the pannel lines will look crap after.

Hi RENZ. That’s a shame to hear. It’s something I had thought of doing too, but I have not searched where to buy parts from yet. I believe the retaining metal ties holding the hoses on are single use, so they need replacing too. Good luck with it. Thanks for watching and sorry I can’t help more today. 👍
Hi thanks for the video it really helped me to change my grill but i also wanted to switch the 2 lower grills ( with front parking sensor ) but i saw that both of the grills are held by clips and another plastic part that looks like it welded to the bumper ... do u have any idea how to do it ? Thanks again
Hi Asaf. There’s a video on the channel about removing the front fog lights completely including the plastic surround. You should be able to find it on the channel. All the best 👍
Hi @@vialettotony Thanks a saw the video but it doesn't show the part i talked about - I'm talking about the 2 front grills like here www.alfaworkshop.co.uk/images/156090415-4368-1-800.jpg any idea how to change them ? Thanks again !
Hi Honda. Yes, I believe there is a drain valve to the left side of the radiator which is accessible once the shield is removed. I hope that helps. All the best 👍
Hello! In the video you said there was a slight oil leak from the pipes to the intercooler. I have a similar slight thinking about the pipe, but I have the following problem. Once I drive my car and reach the required temperature, suddenly my cooling propeller turns on, the temperature arrow does not move from 90 degrees. This does not happen so often, but it happens for the second time as the difference with the first was about 100 miles I stop the car on the spot and reach 2000 and 3000 rpm seeing how lightly there is blue smoke for a moment and if I stand behind the exhaust there some heat. After this smoke comes out, the cooling fan stops working and everything works perfectly normal, at least that's what I think. Checking the oil level has not even moved what could be the reason?
Hi georgi. Not 100% sure but blue smoke would suggest oil for sure. Did you watch my early videos, particularly the air filter video and the MAF cleaning video? Probably worth checking your MAF to see if it’s covered and oil is returning back in the light the air channels. Good luck All the best and thanks for watching. Really appreciate it Vialetto Tony 👍
Do you have any knowledge as to whether this bumper removal guide would be the same or very similar to a 2016 model? I have a cracked honeycomb grill that I’m looking to replace. Thank you
@@stahlhart8998 ah, I see. The answer is no I believe. The intercooler and crash bar would be in the way. Taking the bumper off is easy to do though. I wouldn’t be scared of giving it a go. All the best.
Thanks for letting me know. Problem is, i think due to a minor accident the prev owne had n what I could see so far something is broken at the top corner of the bumper. 😬 sounds a bit sub optimal. Reconstructing plastic is outside of my skill set unfortunately. Other than a larger bracket somehow glued to the bumper, you may want to think about leaving it as is if you’ve only just noticed it, or a new bumper from eBay or scrap dealer?
Yeah u are right, just thinking ahead ...wanna replace the grill with a later model one...n what if I have to change a bulb...very annoying this bumper issue...when i bought the car a month ago i noticedvthe slightly sticking out corner but stupid me didnt invedtigate , looked saw a bigger screw thought well who cares,....sometimes u should look twice 😣. Hello, actually more annoying then a real problem. True. The good thing is that on the Alfa most seems to come apart rather easyly. Hi Stahl. Not sure to be 100% honest… I probably look to remove the shields first and then just go slowly once all the fixings are removed. You may be able to see from underneath once the underpants is removed.
