Behind the Scenes: SMRT Power Rail Replacement Project

#AllAboutTrains We've reached another milestone in our rail renewal programme with the completion of the Power Rail Replacement Project! A lot of hard work and numerous nights have been put into replacing almost 180km of power rail along the 30 year-old North-South and East-West Lines (NSEWL).
Trains draw electricity from these power rails, which are fixed next to and slightly above the two running rails on which the train wheels travel. The replacement of the power rails increases the reliability of the network's electrical system and reduce the occurrence of power rail faults on the NSEWL.

I only heard them saying that they don't work when there is lightning, I didn't hear that they don't work when it is raining. And I guess you can imagine that it is dangerous to do power rail replacements during lightning;)

I mean you work through? You know it would likely to make another traction power which than that part will move and might cause incidents.
