Every single StS fight: do you play a lot of cards and block reasonable amounts of damage! that's fine! Heart: WEAKENED VULNERABLE FRAIL WOUND BURN VOID SLIMED DAZED 3x15 PAINFUL STABS +50 STRENGTH
I only really manage heart with the frost-style defect... the climb from 15-20 Asc I only had one successful non-frost build and that was because of kunai doing a claw build. It usually goes fine untill that one time when I draw all his negative cards at once and he do a heavier attack... T.T The other classes have easier cards to pick up on the way to counter heart, such as disarm, malaise etc.
@@jackeea_ I honestly don't know why some people even bother trying to fight the Heart after defeating it once with every class, is it for points or smth? Like, I don't even remember if it was particularly hard or not for me most of the times (I think that most runs with which I got to him were just so powerful that he wasn't even that hard for me anyway) - I just find both the way to get to him and his fight itself to be extremely bothersome and simply not fun...
@@Karsh. Its points but also the challenge in itself. Why bother going to higher ascension levels when you can just beat the game without ascension levels? Are you good enough at the game to consistently beat the heart multiple runs in a row, handling all the randomness the game throws at you? There's certainly some inherent fun to the game without the whole 3 keys + heart mechanic. But imo, the game would get stale pretty fast because at ascension 0, its very easy to build a deck that can handle the act 3 boss. Its another thing to build a deck that both scales hard enough AND fast enough to defeat the heart WHILE also dealing with the conditions to reach the heart. I just want to be clear, I'm not making a slight at your skill level. The heart is just such a nice addition because it offers players the option to challenge themselves. I originally thought the whole acension mechanic hinged on being able to defeat the heart at the current ascension level in order to unlock the next ascension which I thought was a fair amount of difficulty for a "kind of rogue-like" deck builder.

To be fair, copied cards count as cards played for all purposes, including against time eater, so it would have heavily incremented his card counter. While likely still a foos play, rhia is the one boss where it wasn't objectively so.
When trump plays Slay the spire I feel like people can appreciate the editor more, I was watching 20 minutes in but the run was already at 45 minutes and it didnt felt or looked like it, the cuts being seemingless

@@modernkennnern Watcher is pretty recent iirc. its a fun class with a system of entering and exiting "stances" one for example, doubles the damage you deal and take, etc.
Man, I couldn't click this fast enough when I saw it pop up in my sub box - I quit HS around 2016 and stopped watching any of Trump's videos gradually after that, but StS is my favorite game of the last few years. Hopefully this series continues - I'd love to see more!
Me too before, but on higher ascention I got less success with him in comparison with the other characters. Weirdly enough I have success with defect by making claw/reprogram deck.

@@th3oryO I know right! I win my ascention 14, 15, 16 with decks like that, it just works really well those time I don't why, but my 17 was with the orbs and focus madness. I also have more success with ironclad and watcher. Well, watcher and silent are about the same and defect is my hardest character to play for me.
For me silent is by far the easiest class to win with. I’ve won with every archetype many times, in comparison to defect winning only a bit with him and only with really a single archetype

my fav class :) STS defect, I love the lightning chain, the good stuff, the blizzard ohk, the infinite wall. Fun stuff and defect is a weak class at high ascensions because their block cards are very inefficient, and frost orbs start pathetically weak, meaning you cant defend against the big hits properly. At A0 it is fine

So one thing I do is I see on the Map if their are any elites in the first 3 combats. If there isn't I never go for the enemies have 1 hp choice. (Also new so take this with a grain of salt)
The luck on this run was insane, the deck built itself and it got some godlike defect relics to boot. Still a blast to watch, I can just imagine Trump getting really frustrated in future Defect runs where it|s so rare a good power based deck comes together. Also him skipping glacier hurt
Hey Trump if youre reading this the next three enemies have one hp blessing is actually pretty good when you can snipe elites by looking at the map and choosing shops and ? in the path before them.
next three enemies have one hp blessing is never good, first three fights are easy enough not to struggle with them even without blessing (even elite fight), you basically give up the blessing, because in the long run it gives you no advantage whatsoever.
@@sonicatomic1869 yeah I forgot, for speedruns it is quite good. And I forgot to mention, if you trying to get elite with 1 hp, you could get fights at ? floor, and this blessing becomes even worse.
I played this deck in Endless Mode, and it just goes on forever. You have a silly amount of block with the Genetic Algorithm giving you hundreds, and on turn 1 you just play about a dozen innate storms and any defragments you get, most enemies can't survive the lightning spam
Why would that be better? I hardly ever lose floor 1 and 3 free fights benefit only on floor 1 while +7 hp carries over to floors 2 and 3. Maybe on the higher ascensions where floor 1 is harder but Trump is on ascension 0.
@@Xboxiscrunchy I think a big part of the strategy of taking it is to take a path that let's you hit an elite in those first 3 battles, killing it for free. You can now take bigger risks for the rest of the act. So that choice might translate in to an extra relic, and more since you don't need to rest. You're right though, at low ascension where you can already take the riskiest path, it may not be a benefit at all.
Hi Trump, I really hope you try the Downfall mod after you beat the final boss of the base game. It has been developed by dozens of programmers over multiple years and has 6 really fun and unique characters.

Creative AI is kind of bait tbh. It's expensive, and the effect is just RNG fiesta. You don't want to play cards like Cognitive Bias in long battles, and the lightning powers are bad when you are running plasma or dark. At worst, it keeps generating more Creative AI and Hello Worlds. It often ends up cluttering your deck with bad cards. Also the Awoken one lul. GL with 4x20 dmg every turn
28:56 Electrodynamics > Chaos+ > Zap is a 93.75% chance of lethal. You've got 72 guaranteed damage, if the first orb of chaos is anything other than frost, you find the last 1 damage you need to kill it and you have the added bonus of the second orb rolling zap to also find that extra damage. Not that it mattered in the end, but when you start climbing the ascension levels, saving a little bit of health here and there really adds up.
Here's a quick guide for anyone thinking the Defect is a terrible character: increase focus like crazy (which means losing orb slots), increase orb slots like crazy, make your deck as small as possible, keep cheap defensive cards, collect artefacts boosting that combo and/or mana per turn, keep a few draw cards.

I am having a blast watching Trump play other online card games. They are different from Hearthstone, but not so different that they alienate everyone. Also, what is the song that plays at the very start of the video? That is going to bug me trying to find it.

This is the kind of deck that plays super powerful, and then you get curbstomped by the heart since you can’t mitigate the incoming damage.

Download the Downfall mod, it has 6 new characters which I find even more fun to play than the base characters.

I had never seen this game before, but I watched the entire video, and fell in love with the game.. 4 days later and I have 57.5 hours played.....
just started and thought this game was new. been watching trump for years but only saw sts a couple times. this is definitely my favorite class
