They won't mention the PS5 2 and a half years before release. The mention at E3 2018 is just to halt the hype of the Scorpio. Sony won't lose sleep over even a few million Scorpios sold. It will also have either 7 nm or 5 nm manufacturing process (5 nm could have a breakthrough in a year). Even with a 7 nm process this is a big improvement over the 16 nm process in the PS4 pro.
You can already make a PC for the same price as the PS4Pro that performs better. Videos on youtube already. We don't 100% know how scorpio performs at it's price point so no confirmation yet whether we can.

ste c The reason it lasted so long is because the consoles actually had longevity. The 360 outclassed PC's at launch, and thus Microsoft sold it at a loss. Eventually over the years they shrunk the manufacturing process, thus requiring less power and emitting less heat, permitting a smaller console, and a cheaper one to make (which is how they began profiting off the hardware). The PS4 and Xbox One were both underpowered out of the box.

It's all about the games. Regardless of a consoles specs it is the games that truly matter. Both Sony and Microsoft have some AAA exclusive games and of course both benefit from cross platform heavyweights. However, for every game that is worth your money their are another nine that really aren't. With games costing $60.00/£50.00 or more I for one have had to become more selective with my purchases. At the end of the day if a game is worth the price does it matter if it runs at 30 or 60 frames per second or what the resolution is? To some it will but give me a good game running at 30/1080 over a turd running at 45 or 60/ upscaled 4k

Considering the PS5's launch lineup, which looks polished, I do believe that they were originally targeting a 2019 launch with 9.5TF hardware and delayed it while increasing the clockspeed to its upper limit when they found out about the XSX specs. According to developers the PS5 dev kit was quite mature and they could take advantage of features like raytracing while the XSX and DX12U are hot off the presses, it'll be another year before we see games take full advantage of it.

Deathcop 16K doesn’t really exist. We just started getting some of the first 8k monitors earlier this year by Dell and Asus. It is possible to make 16k displays (only if you take four 8k displays or sixteen 4K displays, or... thirty-two 1080P displays), but the computers to run them smoothly don’t really exist for the common house hold, and I know for a fact that consoles won’t be able to do that for, I would guess, another 2 generations at least. But you never know with technology and there could be a huge break through that will allow us to make more powerful parts super cheep.

I think 2025 is a good year for the PS5 release. And why? Well, for everyone that doesn't know already, as of now in the US, the PS4 is blowing everyone's minds and it has sold a lot of units! People are going crazy with the PS4, that just shows how the PS4 is a bomb to everyone's heads. But, what Sony should make a decision on is to make a PS4 prices go down to $400 to at least $250. I think that this is a better idea than just Sony to rush and make the PS5, that's just a fuck up for the world. But what they really should do is to make PS4 bundles to the price as it is today and lower it down to $150, and the rest of the PS4 editions will stick around with $250.
Best £250 i've spent on a console (ps4 - 500 gig version) still going strong today. The ps3, well that fucker cost me nearly £400 (80 gig version) with 3 games, but free online made up for that.

ste c The reason it lasted so long is because the consoles actually had longevity. The 360 outclassed PC's at launch, and thus Microsoft sold it at a loss. Eventually over the years they shrunk the manufacturing process, thus requiring less power and emitting less heat, permitting a smaller console, and a cheaper one to make (which is how they began profiting off the hardware). The PS4 and Xbox One were both underpowered out of the box.

It's all about the games. Regardless of a consoles specs it is the games that truly matter. Both Sony and Microsoft have some AAA exclusive games and of course both benefit from cross platform heavyweights. However, for every game that is worth your money their are another nine that really aren't. With games costing $60.00/£50.00 or more I for one have had to become more selective with my purchases. At the end of the day if a game is worth the price does it matter if it runs at 30 or 60 frames per second or what the resolution is? To some it will but give me a good game running at 30/1080 over a turd running at 45 or 60/ upscaled 4k

Considering the PS5's launch lineup, which looks polished, I do believe that they were originally targeting a 2019 launch with 9.5TF hardware and delayed it while increasing the clockspeed to its upper limit when they found out about the XSX specs.
According to developers the PS5 dev kit was quite mature and they could take advantage of features like raytracing while the XSX and DX12U are hot off the presses, it'll be another year before we see games take full advantage of it.

8k is out of the budget of normal users. I am pretty sure Sony and Microsoft have the fact people only play for gameplay in mind or else they would even go to the extent of 16k (yes it exists)

It is possible to make 16k displays (only if you take four 8k displays or sixteen 4K displays, or... thirty-two 1080P displays), but the computers to run them smoothly don’t really exist for the common house hold, and I know for a fact that consoles won’t be able to do that for, I would guess, another 2 generations at least. But you never know with technology and there could be a huge break through that will allow us to make more powerful parts super cheep.

People are going crazy with the PS4, that just shows how the PS4 is a bomb to everyone's heads. But, what Sony should make a decision on is to make a PS4 prices go down to $400 to at least $250. I think that this is a better idea than just Sony to rush and make the PS5, that's just a fuck up for the world. But what they really should do is to make PS4 bundles to the price as it is today and lower it down to $150, and the rest of the PS4 editions will stick around with $250.

SlimmCutta 6 to 7 years cycle... No way they will risk ps5 in 2018.. Ps4 is only 4 years old... My prediction is 2020 is the right time to release ps5..to give chance to ps4 pro to shine... Xbox scorpio is design to compete to ps4 pro only.. Sony will not risk ps5 next year..they must follow there tradition 6 to 7 years cycle in releasing console...or they will end up like psvita..
we really do not need to see ps5 until at least the holidays of 2019 or 2020. what we need is more games released for the ps4 and ps4 pro right now
the last thing we need is for Sony to rush a new game system out plus if they did that the market value and demand for the ps4 and pro will go down which in turn will kill a lot of there profits on there games

ps5 Will be a hardware upgrade just like the ps4 pro and will still play ps4 games mark my words it probably wont even be called ps5.

Screw the ps5. I just got ps4 for christmas 2017. Im not letting my parents hving to hve a hard time saving up 4 me and sis . Its sad on how they used bill money on us. But im not going to be chasing around each consol and then wen i get a new one . The other one comes out. I hate xbox and i like playstation . But its ridiculous . Abslout horrible .
