So you don't have to deep dive on research, citrine is amethyst that's heated. It's not fake. That's how you get citrine is heating amethyst. Also, heating amethysts at a different temperature you get prasiolite. Sometime you hear people call it green amethyst, but it's prasiolite. None fake, just how you get both citrine and prasiolite by heating amethyst.
