    Lived Hangzhou for four years (my undergrads). It my fav city in China. Has a lot hidden gems. The city is still expanding. I love the urban plan of this city. Have a great combo of natural scenery, history, industry and modern life. The west lake and Baoshi (means gem) mountain is right at the center of the city. Hope I can go back to visit sooner

    Man I can’t tell you how many vlog’s I’ve watched about China desperately haunting for the perfect mixture of hill sites and tourism and food and landscapes, and this channel is on a different level! PLUS I DONT HAVE TO HEAR THAT ANNOYING VLOG SONG like everyone else uses (you know which one I’m talking about right) every scene there’s a different vibe and sound and their all original is BLOWING MY MIND . Just now finding out how y’all are all cousins. It adds so much more richness to this. Apologize for constantly commenting/spamming I know this was flimed a few years back but in a lockdown like this (LA country isn’t opening up until winter I think) is probably making me go a little bit crazy... imma continue to binge watch tho.

      Don´t get me wrong, I also like this video - but there are some filmmakers who spent a lot of time for making really high quality videos about the Westlake - you should check them out!

    Damn, I first visited West Lake in summer 1985. It was a chill place to walk around, drink delicious green tea for around 10 cents a cup and relax. My, times have changed.

    I started to watch your videos about several months ago, and today I find out you were in my city. On one second you guys were in Utah or California, and next second I see the building where I work! I could have literally seen your car from my window, such a unbelievable feeling!

    Im jealous of all the different food you guys are getting to try. The lights did look cool even thought they were, "just lights on some trees". Thanks for sharing👍

    Greetings from Tokyo! As a Hangzhou local, I thought Xihu was crowded until I came to Tokyo! Xihu is crowded especially during holidays because most of the scenery spots are free of charge. And I hate that sightseeing vehicle on the sidewalk too! Anyway welcome back to China.

    Thanks for showing us around Hangzhou's Xihu! It's so green and beautiful. As always, the food looks amazing, and your relatives' hospitality is incredible.
    Glad that you guys enjoyed the durian pastry! People either like it or hate it. The pig brains made me think of a few movies (e.g. Indiana Jones). 😊 Robby, why did you live in Beijing in '96? Was it for school?

    • @AdventureArchives
      @AdventureArchives  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Serena Davis It was actually just my parents were there for work for a bit. As far as I know it was just for a change of pace, but we were basically just along for the ride. I actually didn't enjoy it very much, I can talk about that on a Vlog some time. -robby

    Saturday on a Labor Day weekend? The Chinese observe Labor Day?

    • @AdventureArchives
      @AdventureArchives  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yup! Actually, pretty much everywhere except the US and Canada, May 1st is known as International Labor Day. Which is ironic, because the date's significance comes from a historical event which took place in Chicago in 1886. -Andrew

    if I had to eat the native food, at least some of it, in order to visit China, there's no way I could do it. Chicken feet. Duck tongues. Pig brains. Ugh. But other than that kind of gross food, it looks like a wonderful place to be able to visit. And the cities have such beautiful surroundings, and even within the cities.

    • @Squisky

      Pathetic.
      You want to pretend you're experiencing a culture but keep it at arm's length. You want to post how worldly and interesting you are on Instagram for clout.
      But you don't really give a shit about other cultures.
      Parasitic behavior.
