Well tell that to Booker-T who originally recorded this classic. He did not even have the pedals attached to his Hammond. The bass, drums and comp was by the MG's. In all fairness, yes a good organ player can do the bass with the pedals and a good player on a newer model Hammond like Mike Reed with his 1,000 + songs here on TH-cam does not even need a band. Many, Many well-know Hammond player stick to "Left Hand" bass as shown here.
