Texas Best,. In March of each year you can hear all these players and many more for Three Day and night s at the DFW SHERATON HOTEL. DON'T MISS it..,. THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD..... Just look up Texas Steel Guitar Asso,... I PROMISE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED..........
Man, it seems to be extremely complicated instrument. Anyway, I'm 100% central european guy, never been to states, and I'll probably never be there, but this steel touches my very deep soul. Cool stuff.
I’d like to see pedal steel adopted by musical cultures everywhere, so that each can use this instrument in their own ways. Can you imagine how pedal steel would sound in India? South Africa? Brazil?
Gracias todos Uds. Por su HERMOSA música que Dios los bendiga hoy y siempre para que hagan siempre felices a quienes la escuchamos ,muchos saludos Dpe.Andres Vargas de Mty.N.L México
Cyprus! Wow! Thank you! It's my husband that starts the song on video. I'm always curious how people run across this post, especially from so far away!
My husband, Danny Crelin, starts off Silver Wings. He has the Buddy Holly glasses and Gary P. Nunn shirt. Yes, Junior Knight is in the cowboy hat. Next to him is David Wright. On his right is Joan Cox. On Danny's right is Skip Pilgrim. On Danny's left, I'm unsure of his name. Down the side across from Danny is Roger Edgington, Boo Miller, and Adam Goodale. They are all amazing, and several are members of the Hall of Fame. It was an honor to be invited by Junior Knight!
I didn't know MSA WORE OUT. I have been playing my MSA that Bud Carter BUILT for me. I watch him put it together while I what ed , took about three hours
I have been playing that guitar for 45 yrs and 8t is still in perfect condition and it sounds like a new one.......MẞA stay in tune and very have any issues. Reece and Bud were the best builder of the Pedal. Steel Guitar........they are also very beautiful iñ all areas. I really think they are the best guitar BUILT...,
Just ran across this on you tube ! I plunk around on an ole wore out MSA but I love the sound of those Mullen's ! I think I need to head the Harley west to Colorado and check one out ! Great video ! Wonderful performers !!
this is some beautiful music if you notice by the church their is a fence row and when i missed behaved my dad would take me out and thrash me but i am 75 years old now and never been in jail i guess he knew what was best .ivan painter from illinois.
LOL ! JR Knight gets showed up by at least the players on his right and left. Must be a humbling experience. Be nice, we steel players need our peers to support us.
🤣 I know this much: Everyone was messing around, she looked over to her left, Junior Knight was on her left, Junior is hilarious, his wife Saran was putting paper sacks on their heads... it was fun, laid-back thing! All involved were guilty of playing while playing.

@@stevebost5496 You're welcome! ... yes, all amazing! Junior Knight, David Wright, and Roger Edgington are all in the hall of fame for steel playing. They didn't just invite any old slacks! Lol! ♡
From the right side of the screen around to the right: ? , Danny Crelin, Skip Pilgrim, David Wright, Junior Knight, Joan Cox, Roger Edgington, Boo Miller, and Adam Goodale. I will find out the first guy's name.
That was EPIC! But might I suggest that the woman with the paper bag be removed from the room next time. She's an attention seeker and NOT a lover of music.
For a regular song, yes, it's too long. This is a thing they do... one player starts and each player gets his or her turn play the song with their own style and flare. It goes around to each player until all have played. Then another player chooses a tune, and they do the same thing. That's just how they do it in these "jams." It's interesting to hear each player's style and take on the song. The more players participating, the longer it takes to go around. At another jam, players drew names and put into groups of 4-6. It didn't take nearly as long to go through each player. Keep in mind that these jams are really for the players (and those that want to hear the jam sessions) and not like a regular performance style.
That first guy was very nervous, because instrumental music isn't his usual playing style. He enjoyed trying out and practicing a new thing that day. He's played on stage for Gary P. Nunn, Dale Watson, Johnny Lee, 1100 Spings, Cooder Graw, and many others. All of the players here are incredibly talented, but beyond that... they are kind and suppitive to one another and to strangers alike. I am proud to call them our friends, and this day was enjoyed by all attending, as players and spectators. Wouldn't it be great if everyone could be like that?
I didn't think so at all! I'm just a lowly six string guitar player, but I thought he started the jam off beautifully with his take on the song, that's the whole reason I kept watching and listening. They were all phenomenal!
Let's hear you doing your version .🤔😜every steel player plays Completely different from others it doesn't have to be text book like the record .it's one of the hardest instruments bin the world to play ...👍👏👏👏👏🏴🥃
Being an ole small Texas kid..this is my favorite instrument on earth besides piano!!! LOVE IT!
This song has no age, no matter how many times you listen to it, it still feels fresh
If it ain't got pedal steel, it ain't Country!

Danny said thanks and he'd been contacting you!
Pure talent.
Thats super cool!! Sounds so good!
They were all great but I thought the 2 Mullen guitars just stood out just a tiny bit better than the others. Great vid!
Great players!! I don't know if it's the guitar or the guitarist... but I'm thinking the guitarist. ♡
Have you seen the San Antonio Steel Guitar Association monthly jams on Converse Access Television on TH-cam? You fellows are good.
-and ladies are great.
Lady (?)
So, playing blindfolded with a paper bag on your head makes it harder for a player?

I heard a few Lloyd Green licks from the black Mullen player.

Show! 👏👏👏👏👏👏

How did you get that many amazing slide players in one room? I didn't know that many existed? Great stuff
Pretty awesome, huh?! Junior Knight got this together and invited the best around! 😍 It was awesome!
I love this more and more every time I watch it!! One question- what are they laughing at, at the 9:40 mark?
🤣 I know this much: Everyone was messing around, she looked over to her left, Junior Knight was on her left, Junior is hilarious, his wife Saran was putting paper sacks on their heads... it was fun, laid-back thing! All involved were guilty of playing while playing.
❤👍
Do you do this every weekend or is it even a tradition? :) Feels really cozy
Would be nice to know who all these great pickers are

Skip Pilgrim! ♡
And Merle smiles down.....
Talk about muscle memory with that bag on their heads. One reason you always sit in the same position.
Well….MSA is well represented.
whose the guy at first on the mullen . WOW.
Skip Pilgrim
The lady guitar picker play the Best
Joan Cox... she's fantastic!
Fantastic, in which tone are you playing???????

Let me try... hold on...
From the right side of the screen around to the right: ? , Danny Crelin, Skip Pilgrim, David Wright, Junior Knight, Joan Cox, Roger Edgington, Boo Miller, and Adam Goodale. I will find out the first guy's name.
Larry Toliver is the first guy on the right.
What tuning are these steel guitars in?
That was EPIC! But might I suggest that the woman with the paper bag be removed from the room next time. She's an attention seeker and NOT a lover of music.
The woman with the paper bag has more music running through her blood than you could EVER imagine. If you only knew!
Why do you play the same thing over and over and over the song is too long
For a regular song, yes, it's too long. This is a thing they do... one player starts and each player gets his or her turn play the song with their own style and flare. The first guy was trying to show off and all but destroyed the song
That first guy was very nervous, because instrumental music isn't his usual playing style. He enjoyed trying out and practicing a new thing that day. He's played on stage for Gary P. Nunn, Dale Watson, Johnny Lee, 1100 Spings, Cooder Graw, and many others. These old farts try to out do one another with their string bending they totally lose the melody of the song.
The steel that the guy with the msa shirt is playing butchered that song.
Let's hear you doing your version .🤔😜every steel player plays Completely different from others it doesn't have to be text book like the record .it's one of the hardest instruments bin the world to play ...👍👏👏👏👏🏴🥃
It definitely has more of the island feel to it, but its still awesome.
