I get what they're going for but the class really seems to work against itself. The reduction on s1 isn't nearly enough compared to just bringing a tailored class that can likely clear a raids omen on its own, like Robin for diaspora, kengo for various enneads, etc. The full clear omen skill can't be reused, which on one hand I understand why, but on the other hand it seems silly to me that a class explicitly made for clearing omens can reliably clear an omen by itself once. And lastly, it's passive. The whole point of the class is to clear omens, so by playing the class correctly, you get punished by missing the better half of your two passives. Currently I just see no reason to use this class over another that likely has more utility, damage, AND omen clearing capabilities.
I was thinking that too, it should reward the buffs on clearing the omens, not letting them go through. Cram all the effects into cancelling omens, and instead have a "If enemy uses a special attack, cut skill cooldowns" to try and promote "Get ready for the next one" so you don't get caught on cooldown and combo'd. The third skill is just bad, only once after building 8 stacks of a rather slow stack, just to clear one omen and do an ok nuke? Decimate with two weapons outclasses it and already helps clear a ton of omens, and it's reusable. Either make it eat some it's stacks in order to be used, or just make it reusable, it's not like an 8CD "Cancel cancelable omen" is going to turn V2 on its head and completely trivialize the game, quite a few characters already have a "Trivialize omen" button on a nicer cooldown (In this very video, V. Grimnir's S2 breaks effectively most Skill damage/multi hit omens every 5 to 7 turns) I'd say improve the S1 to chop up omens a bit better, change the support skill to reward on cancels rather than let them through, and give the third skill a CD instead of a "Can't recast" and it'd be a fairly fine class
It lowers the barrier for new-mid players who don't have the "meta" characters for every single V2 raid. Little disappointed that the stacks only seem to be attack boosts though.
It really doesn't. Clearing omens is hardly ever the issue compared to just getting blasted by the boss. Most meta characters mandatory for charactergated raids revolve around either just pushing big damage for honors or sustaining your team so you can take turns in the first place. For every raid you can probably find a different MC that is better at clearing omens than yamato. Also if we are thinking about new players then that likely means no bubz summon so this class has 0 MA
The class still feels paradoxical, since on paper it looks like it's meant to stop omens... but in reality it just wants to act during them, let as many of them through as possible, and spam fated chains. Just an omen-enabled ungabunga machine. What in the actual heck. Is it worth it a little more with the class weapon though? Starts with 2 Yashiori, end cooldown for skill-1 on enemy special attacks, Yashiori-based bonus damage on ougi. Feels like big damage.
Yamato thoughts: Having skills that are only limited to V2 is kind of restricting especially to older content (Daily farming, New players). Hope the Ultimate mastery skills will be better What's the best way to farm CP?
Feel like they couldve made a similar class that is good at clearing omens by simply giving the class access to good multihit skills, a way to reactivate ougi, a skill that debuffs like crazy and so on. That way it wouldnt be locked to V2 and could actually be useful for something aside from clearing omens.
Yeah the class is a bit disapointing, but it can help new player in v2 that do not have the requirement for some Omen. I think the classe encourage you to find both way to tank ome/stance attack or to cancel them to use it at his max, and not having the set to cancel everything (like the one time canel omen can help for people on Fediel for the 44M skill Dmg). Your test was intersting on Bennu but it make Yamato less interesting that it is really : - First, I think the class is not good for full auto, as I say for me it is a class to discover V2, for example the Watch and Wound skill is design for me to make you able to absob and counter for your team which cannot be done in full auto because FA is monkey brain on skill spamming where you should keep the skill until really needed. - Second, you mention it yes H!Lich is detrimental to your Yashiro stack, but it go beyond that, your team in design reduce Yamato usefulness and potential a lot, you delay nearly every turn so no ommen/stance to clear, V!Grim and H!Lich also doesn't really help to clear the few trigger you face on Bennu and does not much help either on filling the FC. I think with a different team more entry level on the V2 Battle Yamato may shine more. But yeah in the end the class is a bit lacking.
I really like the visual and the animation of this class, the victory animation look more like an correct lore apsara. Well, that is the only good part And here is the rant: the class theme is centered around v2 type battle but very niche, even the passive is some kind of intentional because you have to handicap yourself for its effect. I even hyped for this class because of its cool design, maybe some usage when this class's ultimate mastery unlocked but right now, kind of want to avoid it.
Disappointed with this class. Non-v1, v2 entry raids (ennead,6d) are more favored to just kengo it. Don't think it can help on revans tier without defensive utility and long cds. This probably for Siete due to its FC stacking or the need of it.
Tbf you use a non CA focusing Team in a raid that constantly threw you CA omens at your head and lich just delayed most of the time any of the other Omens that would have been there. That stack setup would have probably been a lot faster otherwise
I think this class caters more to newer players where they struggle to clear omens sometimes, and they get wiped after taking a successful omen attack for high end players this class seems meh for now nice new djeeta look tho

Class about clearing omens have nothing but single hit skills that are only used under right conditions. It's so fucking stupid

Monthly story events (like the current "And You" event) and SkyLeap Point Shop (earning SkyLeap Points through gray pendant raids)
20 boxes every events in the game
If you have no use for bronze moons, trade them for Class points, LOL.

This class is trash for me. I was waiting for it like a crazy but being v2 only is not worth my time. I prefer classes that can work in both modes.
Its not even that good for v2 lmao
