Emotions: Don't Let Them Rule You!

  • At critical moments, it’s crucial that we don’t let emotions take over, despite them being a core part of our being. Egypt, on his third day in our academy, faced the overwhelming pressure to perform, that too often derails boys and men from their intended paths. Instead of condemning Egypt, Sharath Jason Wilson coached him through his emotions. Please join us in the comments-encouraging Egypt for boldly expressing the vulnerable emotions that many males repress, and pushing through to finish the task at hand!

This is beautiful, AND please get Egypt assessed for a full physical including EDS. I struggled a ton as a kid with running specifically, although I could swim just fine, and I did just what this man said - push through. I'm suffering the consequences now. Egypt has an exaggerated curve to his back that may indicate he is dealing with something that could help him if addressed. Functional Patterns and Nueromuscular therapy are both modalities that can assess and help, regardless of the cause. Wishing all here well in life.

What a touching video! I shared this with my two precious sons, aged 5 and 4. My husband and I homeschool them, and lately, our 5-year-old has been feeling overwhelmed, sometimes struggling with the emotions. Last week he told me he “failed” when he did so well!
Watching this video brought such warmth and inspiration! Thank you deeply, and may God bless you abundantly.

Emotions are very important to live and be alive. The wise knows how self regulate emotions skillfully. Don't tell a child or a person not to cry, don't tell them to hide what they feel and push push push through that they break or become emotionless, apathetic beings who are going to breakdown one day or pass the same pattern to next generation. Tell them to accept, acknowledge and respect their emotions. Teach them to be with the emotions, observe and how to regulate the emotions. Teach them to live a full life. They will learn accept and respect others' emotions and hold space until others learn to regulate their emotions in a healthy and sustainable manner . They will thank you for that. Salute sir!

This video filled me with emotion and moved me to tears. Thank God for men like him who instill confidence in boys, teach about real strength, and letting them know that it is ok to show your emotions and still push through. I think everyone needs a father-figure/role model like him in their lives.❤

Watch Jason for years, from the UK, watching how he deals with young boys, and young men, made me UNDERSTAND why I never resonated with the SHOUTING in your face so called bravado that is so common with physical training among men, getting up in your face, making you feel MORE WORSE than you already did, because you feel like quitting.LOL That never propelled me, just got me angry inside, being spoken to like that. Hearing a much more experienced man, EXPLAIN what true strength is, and that "men do cry" and men don't cry is a lie is SO LIBERATING TO hear validation for me personality type when I was much younger! God bless you brother and may he CONTINUE To STRENGTHEN YOU and your wife and your household to continue doing the amazing work you're doing!

I know his videos are directed towards males but this man is also a mentor for women who did not grow up with their father. His videos bring forth healing and I appreciate his gentle spirit.

Emotional intelligence and proper teaching of manhood and masculinity which has been missing in yall sons for a few generations. This was so refreshing to see. Men! Teach all sons like this so they grow up knowing their ordained role as a man and how to move.
