I dont understand why a machine shop doesnt sell these directly and instead goes thru crappy retailers like AKD. I had mine custom machined as well and it wasnt hard or complicated you just need to find a competent automotive machine shop.

I actually had a similar experience with EQT when I bought their Vortex turbo for my MK7 GTI. Put my order in, and weeks went by without any communication from them. A few months went by with no response to any of my emails I sent them, so I decided to call them out in the forums (EQT is “praised” in the MK7/7.5GTI community), and I had the owner and all of his minions reply to my post immediately. It was like within hours of me posting it. They tried to say they were communicative. They straight up lied just to save face. That was one of few bad experiences I had with them. The MK7/7.5 community still loves them, but I honestly was turned way off by their poor customer service. Never will order from their website ever again.
When you're doing big powerful builds, there can be weaker components that break but the end result is worth it. Shout out to Jamie for exposing that dodgy supplier.

With a build as bespoke as this, what I usually find is that weaker components go, then you drive for a bit, then the next weakest goes, and so on. As long as you're upgrading not replacing each time, you're always getting a better car at the end. This build is sick and it's so good to see you doing just that. #AKDnotbuilt

Atleast you are showing us the bad sides of tuning. People getting new into this stuff think you just tune your car for a few K and its all rainbows and sunshine. I've had a fair bit of problems with my own Fiesta ST as well. Its never fun.... :'(.

Great content, this is more involving, can’t wait to see when the launch in fully calibrated you can tell it’s going to be mental. Adjusting the slip clutch to how you want it is tricky you will have to work with the tuner on the day and adjust it.
Maybe the holes in the plates you produced are to small, so the viscous is not locking quick enough causing the traction problem, total guess. If you have logging check the front and rear wheel speed, otherwise slow mo the launch and count the wheel rotation. Great vid 👌

The launch control is set to turn off when the clutch is fully lifted that's why it cracks up when u use the soft launch if you can program the ECU to desable launch control when u start moving (speed sensor)I think that would work out better

So many people think tuning cars is “asbo”. On the contrary, I believe the mastery and skill and passion for the details is sheer joy. The amount of heart and mind in a build like this is greater than the sum of its parts. Keep going bro. Love your work 👍
Good build (y) For that launching. Check the tune file. It would probably be hold launch timer or something. After launch control deactivates it would hold the ign cut for a some time to reduce the wheel spin (engine torque). Now You have a clutch slip kit. So as a tuner I would turn that launch timer off because it is not needed any more.
Any company worth one's salt will work 24/7 to make their customers happy so family time isn't really a great excuse even though it's valid. A real company would of made a partial refund but still sent the parts out. $300 isn't much for a company that deals daily with expensive parts.
Maaan this build is so damn sick! Can't wait to see it fully up and running in full force. That second launch, both your faces when you hit the boost was what we've all been waiting for haha!
Having been through multiple bad experiences with multiple “highly rated” companies with my cars, it’s actually pretty rare anyone in the scene worldwide isn’t gonna mess you about. So I feel your pain, I just do everything I can myself now but not many people have that option. Glad you kept going with the build.
You can tell, the power to weight in this thing is mental! When it is fully dialled in it is going to be a killer. I mean it's already a killer clearly but i'm defo seeing a sub-10-second quarter-mile in this thing easily

If your using the clutch switch for launch control move it so it releases earlier as sounds exactly like you said, launch control is still active, you can also do it of a wheel speed sensor on the rear wheel which is what I’ve seen done befor! The car is a beast mate! Check out some boosted boiz n see what they go through for high power Hondas!

Look I’m no expert but... The top drift boys still use the clutch when shifting because there’s to much inertia when the wheels are spinning for the gear to disengage properly .. Just a thought

Still my favourite build on TH-cam sounds absolutely insane will take time on fine tuning and getting it right as it’s heavily modified. I think it’ll definitely be worth it.
Akd is trash. They gave me the run around on parts as well. Same excuse you got, for almost a year. Then had to end up going through paypal to get my refund luckily. My first order was motor mounts because they were the only ones making them at the time. I was one of the "lucky ones" i guess you would say that actually recived mine, only for me to have to trim the mounts and bushings to make them fit.
Jamie, get in touch with the Kyle from the BoostedBoiz for the viscous coupler and plates. He may know a guy. Also, you tend to hold onto the shifter after launch. Leave it and only touch it for the change of gear. Those sensor are super sensitive.

Where is your clutch switch located, it looks like the clutch is slow desengaging the switch for the lauch control. Just put launch control under 10-20kmh, not on the clutch switch

Akd is trash. They gave me the run around on parts as well. Same excuse you got, for almost a year. Then had to end up going through paypal to get my refund luckily. My first order was motor mounts because they were the only ones making them at the time. I was one of the "lucky ones" i guess you would say that actually recived mine, only for me to have to trim the mounts and bushings to make them fit.
that AKD should be ashamed. missed a massive opportunity.

Jamie, get in touch with the Kyle from the BoostedBoiz for the viscous coupler and plates. He may know a guy.
Also, you tend to hold onto the shifter after launch. Leave it and only touch it for the change of gear. Those sensor are super sensitive.
The viscous coupling should give enough slip, I understand cars with sticky rwd och awd needing a clutch delay valve though.

I’ve seen people putting the ZF 8 speed into these maybe you can look into it? Just don’t go the HTG route but the turbo lamik.

That looks rapid. Does sound like it’s still got the lower Rev limit for the launch control not deactivating quick enough.
Where is your clutch switch located, it looks like the clutch is slow desengaging the switch for the lauch control.
Just put launch control under 10-20kmh, not on the clutch switch

Japan and Europe got good quality and quantity on aftermarket parts. In the U. S. there are plenty of cocky companies that are making dealing with parts aweful. As a private person sometimes you've a feeling nobody cares for you out there.
