Oh how I miss the Slugger. To bad the devs said it was the best sniper rifle so they took it's stagger away so it could have less shotgun characteristics.
bro same. I was so upset when they did that. then the devs did that pole for are marksman rifles not doing good and like 85% of people said marksman rifles were dog ass. So ya it was the best sniper cause your other sniper were bull shit so now we have neither. Sad day for Democracy.

I was fine with it the way it was😂. Was my favorite gun. I still died. I still had to be very accurate. VERY. But it was rewarding. And effective
Punisher's great, the only big downside vs bugs is you can't wreck guards and spewers like the slugger can.
Yeah, too bad the slugger is basically unusable now without the stagger.
That's why the punisher and impact grenades and either autocannon or grenade launcher is s tier.
I thought I was crazy, being one of the few to use it. It is a damn fine weapon, especially vs. Bots - the ability to stagger those melee berserker bots is outstanding.
Punisher is my top 1 weapon for bugs, ever since I got it. That time being the very first weapon I unlocked in the game...

Used to be my primary for automatons, before they took away the stagger towards devastators. Now i have to use the dominator, which handles like a damn log
hi.got same feeling.started play 1 week ago.lvl 30 right now.was one of my 1st weapon..and most of weapons wich i unlocked not even close to this shotgun. it feels good around for most situations. nice vidio=)
Been using it since day one, tried other weapons and still come back to it.
bonus fact about the punisher: the individual rounds load so quickly that you can continuously reload between every single shot without slowing down your rate of fire
Punisher, auto pistol, and impact nades have been my loadout for as long as I can remember
It's still pretty good. It's just that the dominator does the same thing, with much better range, accuracy and pace, in exchange for slower projectiles.
Wait til you get the grenade pistol

It used to be that meta when the game first came out. But that was before people found the breaker and before its ammo nerf.
Punisher is a solid choice. No doubt. But incendiary shotgun is #1 for bugs hands down. With the fire damage buffed recently, it just cuts down swarms. At about your 8:35 mark on video, the incendiary would’ve handled all of em, no problem.
100% agree. Breaker incendiary is the play. Great option against shreikers as well. Just overall best bug buster.
Hold the ping button down, the bottom position is the need supplies callout. Attentive team mates will ping the resupply, if u re ping it while its already pinged by teammates the ping stays visible for a while.
Breaker Incendiary is much better especially against bugs and just my opinion but the Erupter is far better.
The eruptor is next to useless it since it got nerfed.

Im in love with the Arc 12 Blitzer right now, staggers and kills everything, like broot commanders? 3 side by side charging at you? Dont worry, you'll stagger 2/3 first shot. Small enemies just explode, hunters are 2 shot

Def love the Punisher. Been using this 90% of the time bugs/bots. The damage, never punished for early reload, and stagger are just huge. The Eruptor is def the runner up for the insane damage and taking out bug holes. Only con, is the close range usability
How is this good against bots with only light armour pen and having to get very close while under constant fire`?
Yeah, this is really good for killing medium enemies but you really need something for clearing out the little stuff since your ammo and rof are so limited. You shoulda gone for gatling instead of autocannon or cluster instead of orbital rail.
The load out I would have brought with the Punisher was Rover, Air Strike, either orbital laser or railcannon, and Quasar.
Punisher, grenade pistol, and STUN grenade.
Rover will keep you from getting mobbed and save your ammo. Stun grenades for chargers and stunning groups for optimal air strikes (best grenade).
I like the punisher but I like to re aim after every pump. It helps center shots better.
Wait until you try the jar 5 dominator. It’s like a mag fed slugger but it hits even harder.
The Punisher is an A1 go to.👍🏾
PSA to all divers. when you call down ammo resupply. Ping it so the whole team can get some! I cannot stress this enough.
The Incendiary breaker is better option against bugs imo
Eh, I tried Punisher yesterday after a long time, and the light armor pen just isn't enough on solo. It's good against hunters and shriekers, but breaker incendiary, breaker, and breaker SAP do it better. The knockback is really good against stalkers, though.
i prefer this shotgun against automatons. it just stuns berserkers.
Unless the berserkers are wearing roller-skates. Sometimes they stagger, but keep approaching through the stagger animation.

So dedicated to their craft they continue skating while dead.
Punisher is not bad at all. I converted to using the Slugger when I unlocked that (adds armor pen, with the caveat of no spread). But more recently the Slugger got a nerf.
Not sure it's 'ideal', but I wouldn't feel bad about using a Punisher in any mission. Works pretty well, and is very ammo efficient. A little spread helps with hunters.
Kinda like the incendiary shotgun for bugs tho.
if you have 8 or less rounds, you should be able to use a speed loader to quickly load 8.
Punisher Plasma can become insane if u know how to use it well

The jar is just this and slugger combined, only downside at all is the no single load imo
That for me isn’t a downside. The jar reloads its entire mag instead of waiting for single rounds and so with recoil reducing armor like fortified or engineer passive it’s one of the best weapons to lay down fire

Breaker spray and pray is godly against bugs. Hunter don't stand a chance
despite being called a punisher. The punisher plasma isnt single shell loading for what ever reason and I think it should be changed to be the same as the punisher.
The SG-8P needs a rework in every way. Honestly I don't think it should be a plasma weapon. We literally have mini grenades that can be fried from 12g shotguns IRL. If they wanted a plasma based mag feed shotgun it should have been a Breaker. But they definitely need to get rid of the grenade launcher set up on it. If they want to limit range so its not the same as a Scorcher they could just make it have a flat trajectory but have it airburst its normal dmg radius at like 50m or w/e.
ah the punisher is great apart from on hive guards... but then you just use a grenade or your support weapon
Honestly the punisher sucks if you don't have a team supporting you to clear out chaff or you don't bring strats to deal with them. The incendiary breaker would have been a MUCH better choice for that mission or if you're dead set on bringing the punisher then the cluster/napalm strat or even the arc thrower (which has knock back AND kills a lot faster).

If a weapon cannot handle the devastators and the spewers aka the medium sized guys then i just cant use it.
That is how my brain works.
Because at the end of the day even your side arm can deal with every small bug or bot in the game.
The medium armor pen weapons can also do that. So why use anything else?
I think the smaller ennemies need to be way more dangerous and numerous to warrant the existence of the other weapons.
As it stands the dominator and scorcher even the penetrator deal with every mission perfectly.
BUT if i had to go up against 10 hunters and 40 scavagers then i would just have an incentive to use a normal rifle or shotgun.
As it stands now it is like there are only bile spewers, brood commanders , devastators and the rest of the big boys.
Hunters are a holes dont get me wrong but the main threat remains spewers and devastators so...

Try playing solo. EVERY weapon is good when you're in a 4man team and they're pulling your weight. 4-Grenade chargers??? Thats complete crap.
Nah. You didn't do anything that the fire shotgun didn't do. There are many primary weapons which can do the same.
I bring Punisher for Terminids, mostly so that I have a way to deal with Hunters without wasting too much time.
Not amazing when swarmed but the idea is you take out those loose pesky Hunters before it gets worse. The stopping power is too good to ignore.
Still useful vs Automotons, but sometimes Scorcher is the way to go for me mostly whenever a Scout Strider shows up.
Says it has no recoil.....Punisher and Slugger have the highest recoil of all primaries lol. The ROF is just slow enough that you settle the gun before firing again.
The SG-8 Punisher and SG-8S Slugger are awesome weapons. Great for bot. I wouldn't use the Slugger against bugs though, slow ROF and single projectile is not good for swarms. Specially when you have the SG-8 and Breaker shotguns which are all good. Just be careful with the Breaker Incendiary with friendlies, it only takes 1 pellet to hit them and burn them to death. The ARC shotgun and plasma shotgun I would skip, neither are that good.

Best primary with arc thrower imho, probably the strongest weapon against hunter and stalker, brood commander when they charge you, and the flying bugs due to the spread. Which is probably the enemies the arc thrower struggle the most with.
It is not a good horde clear weapon tho, so you should pair it with one or the guard dog backpack. You have to see it like a defensive weapon to protect you close quarter.
If you use it to horde clear you are relying on your teammate to carry you...
I think you're overhyping this gun. A primary with only light armour pen is really not that great.
Yeah but the damage is really good, reloading 1 shot at a time so even if your half done your magazine you won’t lose half of it after the reload and a stagger effect. Sure not having medium armour pen kind of sucks but ur has so many other things going for it
SMG is literally better and has same penetration.
Plasma punisher for me is the games best secret primary
until that hunter or jetpackbot land in your line of fire

Its really not. The breaker incendiary is ten times better. A single shot shotgun is literally the worst choice for bugs
If you aren’t host you might as well use Punisher or Spray and Pray
