Here's a chaotic look at the newly announced ThunderCats Ultimates Cat's Lair playset on display at the Super7 booth at SDCC 2023. It was crowded, but I did my best! Full walkthrough with Brian later this week.

On Third Earth, the ThunderCats encounter various allies, such as the warrior sage Jaga and the ancient Berbils, as well as adversaries like the evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living, and his minions, the Mutants of Plun-Darr. Mumm-Ra seeks to steal the powerful Eye of Thundera, which is embedded in Lion-O's Sword of Omens, in his quest for domination and immortality.
The ThunderCats' mission is to protect the Eye of Thundera, defend Third Earth from Mumm-Ra and other villains, and search for a way to rebuild their homeland and restore Thundera. As the series progresses, Lion-O undergoes a coming-of-age journey, transforming from a young and inexperienced leader to a mature and wise ruler.
ThunderCats was known for its captivating storytelling, strong character development, and impressive animation for its time. It also featured memorable catchphrases, such as "ThunderCats, ho!" and "Sword of Omens, give me sight beyond sight!"

650 is way too much for it and it does take a lot of space. It does look interesting though.

@@luvfreedom1470I think it most likely will. It’s already over 1/3 of the way there for the minimum. Will it hit the stretch goals tho? That I’m not sure, but it is a two month campaign and a lot of people wait until the end to back it, so there’s time for it hit those numbers.

That's right. If I were to buy it, I'd have to keep it in the box (at least for the time being) that would most likely stand somewhere in the corner and serve as a shelf for other things. 😀 + 😞

But considering the size and the features of this thing, and compared to other huge crowd-funded toy projects, adjusted for inflation? Yes.
Man I wish I were rich. not so I could afford this playset, but so that I could afford the space to put it. Absolutely incredible, but very tricky to display. Apart from the size, which way do you have it facing? The facade looks stunning. One of the best looking toy facades I've ever seen and an absolutely iconic design. But the back is where all the action and display area is, with multi levels and accessories for setting up a fantastic diorama.
That's why you need to get two. :)

Honestly I don't collect this line, but this would have been a dream playset for me when I was a kid. So awesome.
Might be the best playset I have ever seen... and I have Snake Mountain.
I'm glad the window to order is long. Absolutely love this thing and will be selling off stuff I no longer actively collect to pay for this. Also glad the price isn't as high as I initially thought it would be. A bit bummed my Thundertank won't fit in it but I probably couldn't afford this if it did lol.
IMO super 7 is the best toy company right now . Love their motu , thundecats and tmnt and ofcourse the reaction . My fav figure is hook mountain lion o
The ledges on the cliff sides are a nice and thoughtful inclusion in the set.
That certainly helps make maximum use of the space this Lair will take up.

The lair is absolutely breathtaking and so well done! Sadly I have to agree with the size. I couldn't order Snake Mountain because of this, and with everything else in my collection there's just no display space for this. What a dream for the ultimate Thundercats fan!
I hope Super 7 Ultimates make Mumm-Ra's Black Pyramid & the Mutants' Castle Plundarr too!

The truth is that this Thundercats playset is simply monstrous, I'm not a Thundercats fan but I definitely want it in my collection, it's a shame that this giant playset will never arrive for Argentina, I hope they do something like that with Sewer playset playmates vintage S7 would be epic, greetings bro 💪🏻🙂👏🏻🇦🇷

Actually not bad for $650. But why does the thunder tank cost $500 when the cats lair is super massive and is only $650? The thunder tank price should be dropped to at least $250 or $300.

I understand its hard to find space for this, but it had to be this size to do it justice.
There is NO SUCH THING as "too big" for a playset - playsets are made to be amazing!

It seems to me that one of the sky cycle type vehicle should fit under the paw if the turrets are "hopefully" removable.
I guess to be fair it looks like it's worth the price it costs overall the only slight detriment to that is the use of stickers for some interior details that could have been an extra moulded piece perhaps.
I like it though it's cool.

Oh my God it looks so epic and badass looking. I want to buy it when it comes out. I’ll try to make room in my bedroom myself for this lol it looks like you’re really having fun out there at San Diego Comic-Con pixel Dan I really wish I was there by the way Pixel Dan when you go back to the masters of the universe booth, can you please ask one of the motel people there to see if they will release the vintage head he-man and Skeletor Origins figures because they’re really hard to find right now. Also ask them if they could make power Con. Next year, a he-man and the masters of the universe focused show and They need to get Dolph Lundgren to come as well!

$650 is actually relatively reasonable considering you'll spend that much if you bough the Hasbro HISS and Dragonfly.
Mumm-Ra's Tomb was the playset I had as a kid. I'd be interested to see them tackle it now. Absolutely not for This price point, but still.
Hope Dan will ask Brian whether Super 7 is open to making upgrade kit for the Thundertank (i.e., replace gun cannon with more seats, more rollable treads, etc.) I know it might not be a high priority, but I think many Thundertank owners will appreciate it!

If I had like a big 25' x 25' toy room, this would go on a pedestal right in the middle of the room. However my toy room is L-shaped making it difficult to display any large items. Snake Mountain is pushed up flush against a wall. This could take Grayskull's spot on the table I have in there, but then where would grayskull go? And I have Eternia coming! No way to make this work in my room, sadly...

ive seen the pre-order price on this and its insane its big but the that price its like a punch in the gut
It has always bugged me how far off the scale is between Castle Grayskull and the figures it is intended for, but this really showcases the impracticality of having a playset that would be built to a 5-1/2" scale figure. But what a treat it would be to own.
