hi can you do review dokey kong country return hd because I what to know if good video game are not
Hi madlittlepixel, I've been looking to buy a retro game system like this but there are so many out there and often get bad reviews regarding poor quality that stop working, difficult to setup and so that deter me from purchasing one. I dont want to just throw money away on something that's gonna be an issue. I'm really looking for something that's made well enough to not have an issue with that's ready to plug in and play, easy to navigate with all the games ready to go on it and thinking of Amazon to purchase from so I can return and have protection on the purchase. Mostly interested in super Nintendo but I would like option to have a bunch of other systems as well so it wouldn't bother me to have something fully loaded. I'm more than happy to make a purchase from any affiliate links you provide on the recommendations you make. I'm just pretty lost and see systems ranging from $60-$300+ so I really don't know where to go to in help finding the good quality system that's ready to just plug in and play without hassle. Some guidance really be appreciated. Thanks
Be happy to take it off your hands if you want to part with it at a good price :) Its the worst part of being an Aussie.I love the look of this one but when the dollar exchange rate happens then it ends up costing me a LOT more because of our shitty dolar rate
Do you think werth the money or wayt
I've been making videos about this console for little bit now. It's an awesome little box, some PS2 and GameCube games don't run great right out the box but installing an updated Dolphin mmjr emulator and updating aethersx2 it runs everything on the drive just fine.
I made a video setting up a 2nd player controller too.
Nice to see someone else that knows more than I do about these things checking it out.
😄👍
Star wars bounty hunter crashes 😅 pissed me off
"Loose 👄 Lips sink The Retro gaming ship ⚓🚢!!! 😜"
Kinhank finally listened to Ron about curating the ROMs better? Miracles never cease!
Got one of these a while back. Impressive little box. PS2 runs terrific. Playing Silemt Hill 2,3 was just like playing it on the real thing. Big thanks to the creator of the emulator.
I hoped you’d get around to reviewing this one!
Seems like one of the better ones I've seen reviewed in a while, not sure about the price tag of over $300. I had been looking at it for my channel but didn't pull the trigger.
i own one of these... works great.. loads of fun.
i don't understand why all these reviewers freak out about the hard drive..
its no big deal...literally not a big deal...at all.
get over it already.
And if you clone the HDD to a 4TB SSD it works even better.
@@jhale1019after clone you can use the 4tb ssd plugged into the usb port instead of sata on the same kinhank device?
@ I didn’t try that, I cloned mine to a 4TB SATA SSD.
These look really cool, but I already got a Steam Deck + EmuDeck, a JSAUX stand, and Anker HDMI/UBS-C/USB hub. It does take a little bit configuring to get it to work, but in the end, it will do pretty much all this and is portable. Without EmuDeck, no WAY would I figure out how to get emulation working on a linux system. But all you have to do is know where to grab a few bios, load the roms in the proper folder, and hit "Scraping" in Emulation station and it's pretty much exactly like this. There's plenty of TH-cam how-to videos.
But if I didn't have a Deck, I'd seriously think of getting something like this. If anything else, it's worth it for the amount of time it would save you versus you trying to get all these games on your own.
The only Hank I like is King of the Hill
I bought one of these when they first came out. I went back and forth with them on 3 hard drives and none ever worked. It was sent back for a refund. Wish it would have worked for me
This console is pretty good. Mixed performance on the higher end consoles (PS2, GameCube, Wii), but most of the games I wanted to play actually worked pretty good. For the PS2 games, I have them at 2.25 screen resolution and the God of War games, Devil May Cry, NBA & NFL 2K5 work just fine. At 2x resolution, games like Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Bros Wii, WWE Day of Reckoning 2, and TMNT work good off the Dolphin emulator. Some games run better than others, so you gotta determine if you want to play games that all work under the same settings, or do you want to tweak the settings per game. My preference is the same settings for all games. Also… keep that android remote control because it will come in handy for exiting out of the GameCube and Wii games, in addition to adjusting the volume output on your TV. Lastly… putting the controller in android mode makes things easier for playing PS2 and GameCube games. While the console is powered off, hold the home button and A at the same time until the controller lights turn up. Power the console on, and you’ll be good to play any game with the exception of some Wii games. Also, keep that remote to the android box in handy as you’ll need to use it to access the menu of the Wii and GameCube, and exit the games or adjust setting as needed.
No way, the Saturn version of Discworld! I only played the PS1 version and got me hooked on Pratchett books
Yeah the one I got for my son for Christmas has a completely different front end with Pegasus
mine has both es and peg
I got one a out a year ago on sale for 180.00 and i love it , tho mine fame with a different front end . Gamecube and PS2 run great for me
My emulation set up has all consoles and game libraries from 1st generation to Now with the exception of PS5/Xbox X/S you just have to pay the cost to be the boss as with anything in life
Even with modded drives that have 100,000 games “””” lots of duplicates, versions from various regions . So there are actually 40,000 games !!
These bootleg emulator makers need to grasp the concept that if they are going to sell a product that emulates a platform, it needs to run perfectly, right out of the box. Otherwise, don't put it on there. It's like paying for a project. Why buy something just so I have to do the work you should have done before selling this mess?
That's odd. 4:38
I didn't have this screen when I turned mine on, mine had Pegasus where ES-DE K is.
🤷♂️
You can add it with the plus it has multiple front ends
@ritualdelo oh really? I've heard other people mention it, I just haven't noticed it because I don't know much about what I'm doing with these devices yet.
I'll look for it next time, thank you.
😅👍
I got one last month and it’s not perfect - PS2 only plays if I have e a wired controller on it, I have the entire GameCube library but it won’t register a controller at all it’s hit or miss if you get screwed on not being able to play GC at all. And high end PS2 runs perfectly but games like Baldurs Gate 2 are randomly unplayable running at 8-15 games per second even at lower resolutions. But for the price I’m happy because of all the games especially 1800 ps1, all the Saturn, Dreamcast etc. Also the favorite buttton will randomly not select certain games to put on the favorites list. I had a friend 3D print a case for the hard drive and added small fans for both console and hard drive to be safe.
I need a console like this with a virtual boy games on it especially Jack Brothers
Best retro gaming external hard drive
Yeah $299 is crazy
Game collection setup looks totally different on mine.
I changed the dashboard wallpaper but once I open Pegasus it looks totally different.
Is that just a setting I can change?
Could you list how you could build something for 160 bucks or less that does all this? I'm just curious cuz it comes with controllers and everything too right?
If you scroll through his backlog, he has several videos on how to find the emulation side to download. For under $200, you need to have most of the hardware ahead of time.
Is that 4TB drive from 2015??? 😬
Looks like its repurposed from a data center lol
Can we bring the resolution down to 480p on this device?
Im def buying this! But will Aliexpress send the same legit one as Amazon?
If you dont want to load up your own emulators or roms i guess this is okay, but i highly advise people to look up videos on how to do it yourself.
It's not bad I like it just setting up the controllers for the Wii and the GameCube and a couple others can be a pain in the ass right now I'm using an Xbox controller works pretty well for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation games those were the ones that were the easiest to set up hev controller for And dont do a factory reset .it is areal pain to get everything back to where it was before don't do it 😬
Red flag all over. Sound the alarm. No enclosure for this drive is extremely fragile and can die very fast. Extremely cautious ⚠️ when using it.
I can't find this on Amazon Canada
$150 at the most !
Yeah you cannot recommend this
Gamesir -- good controller. !!! Great video !!! This costs $300 !!!! Amazon -- one rating -- 5.0. Which is very rare rating !!! Only has 16,000 games !!! You can get modded drives that have 100,000 games for $250 .
Kinhank has a few good items. Those portable "consoles" that look like cassette tapes aren't too bad. And the "12 TB" "console" they sell is pretty nice, which is cheaper than this X5 Pro with only 4TB for some reason.

Kinhank hard drive can hook up the cpu by booting up to batocera and play it very easy my cpu able to play older up to PlayStation 3 . It a lot of games to play 120k games . Mostly very old has bunch of games it really a lot of old games likely original PlayStation about over 1000 games and Super Nintendo over 2k games . Too many game for me lol
Is ps2 on there?
Werd!
These are crap I bought one of those kinhank things and it quit working for me like 4 days later and it wasn’t cheap
Just clone the drive, send it back.
You are right !!!!! Kinhank is a very shady company !!! Lots of complaints !! I do read lots of user reviews !!!
Atari Jaguar sucks !!! It was a commercial failure !!! Atari dropped the ball on this !!! The 3DO --really sucks !!! What a waste of money !!!
I sold my Sega CD back in early 90's along with my games to buy an..... Atari Jaguar! An even worse purchase! I did absolutely love Wolfenstein 3D on Jaguar though. It made the purchase almost worth it.
