But thanks to some brilliant, uniquely approached offence from Willis and Arnold, they actually tried to block Arnold's shot from behind the two of them!!! Diff'rent Strokes was initially devised to serve as a vehicle for both Conrad Bain and Gary Coleman. Bain had recently finished a six-year run co-starring as Dr. Arthur Harmon on the hugely successful Maude. When that series ended production following an unsuccessful revamp in spring 1978, Tandem Productions producer Norman Lear was keen to find a suitable sitcom for Bain to star in. Ten-year-old Coleman, meanwhile, had caught producers' attention after appearing in a number of commercials and TV guest roles, and the previous year had starred in three pilot episodes by Lear that attempted to revive the Little Rascals film series of the 1920-40s. The pilots did not sell although they were later edited into a television film for some markets. Lear saw immense potential in Coleman and was determined to find him a suitable sitcom, and it was decided that Bain and Coleman would make a good, if unusual, pairing for the project.

It brings me so many great memories when when I was hospitalized with a hypertension and kidney condition people were very friendly and now I dont have any friends anymore where my mom pulled me out of BFAIR i dont work Im afraid im gonna end up like Dana Plato she was gone too soon she liked to party a lot there wasnt ,never gonna be a monarch like that series

I gotta say that Mr. Drummond is one of the best yet overlooked TV Dads out there, and unlike some of his contemporaries (like Dr. Huxtable and Rev. Camden), his actor was the real deal. A gentleman, a professional, and someone who really looked out for his "kids." Even when Conrad Bain passed, Todd Bridges said that it was like losing his actual father. May he, Dana, and Gary all rest in peace.
The only episode I've seen of this show was the disturbing Bicycle Man one because it was here on TH-cam. I was born in 1985, so didn't really watch this show, but based on what I saw it was a show with good lessons and good laughs. RIP everyone but Todd Bridges.

At 42 Gary was still lookin like he was still 10 (which is how old he was when the show debuted! Don't ask me why it is was in my mp3 collection, as it probably has been for over a decade along with some other 80's tv hits like Airwolf. Anyway, I distinctly remember a soulful 'hmmmm" at the end of the song. I've checked everywhere opening, closing, original etc nothing -it just cuts off. Coincidentally enough, the Queen's"We are the Champions" also ends on "World"... or was supposed to anyway. Long story short, this should end with ...Different Strokes to Move the World! -Hmmmmmmmm"
