For the newbies out here especially it makes the process so much easier to understand and apply. Nice for your prospective buyers to see your training methods and thought process and choices to support those methods. Actually everyone no matter the level can always learn a tip or two that maybe they never thought of or used. Joseph I love your videos but why have you allowed the stirrups to be flaying around while he is being lunged? It can’t be very nice for him to have stirrups bashing him in the side.
Equine Jumper if you want to de-sensitive them it would be better to tie the stirrups together so they are down but can only move a certain amount. I don’t think Joseph intended the stirrups to be down because he started lunging with the stirrups run up, he just didn’t have them tied up properly.
@@jordyncruttwell581 That's was my thinking, too. The billet straps not in their keepers made my inner Pony Clubber twitch, until I thought about it for a moment and noticed the other straps flapping. Good to do this now for the safety of his future owner! I think we all have had the experience of falling off, and if the horse takes a bit of a run, those stirrups are going to fly everywhere!
This also made my inner Pony Clubber twitch 😄 But, if you look at the videos of Joseph and Jess in Europe, the horses are always lunged with stirrups down and reins tucked under the stirrup leathers....I suppose there are arguments for both cases but their horses seem to be used to it.
