The MLB ought to think about expansion opportunities to be honest. There are plenty of major markets that still don’t have teams or once had a team but no longer do (Montreal comes to mind).
Rawlings even admitted (you can find it on “baseball savings” TH-cam channel) that when collegiate levels changed to lower seam baseballs they were traveling 25 feet further. So when they measured different MLB baseballs and saw the seams were lower in newer MLB balls, it’s definitely obvious. Especially triple A’s giant increase in HR’s just the past year. Great video fuzzy. I’m all for more offense especially if players don’t need to take drugs, but pitchers definitely need to learn to create movement on low seam baseballs. The guys who know how to do it will definitely continue to shine.
How would you fix a game if both teams are using the same type of balls ? This isn’t football where the qb can determine what ball to use since there always using a new baseball on pretty much every play
@@mikedeek umpire grabs juiced balls from left side of his pocket when red sox are pitching, grabs non juiced balls from his right side of his pocket when Yankees are pitching... Not full proof but that's 1 way to give a healthy advantage to 1 team.

You can just tell by batters reactions that the ball is juiced. They’ve been playing this game their entire lives, they know when they get a hold of one or got under it for a pop up. In the clips at the end, all of them had that reaction like “damn I popped out” and the ball just keeps carrying and carrying for a homer

YT needs to crackdown on getting rid of people that throw in commercials and ads and sponsors edited in the video content. Not fair to those that are supposed to not see any on TH-cam premium.
Aside from the baseballs, the mentality of the game is also changing. Very similar to 3pt shooting in the NBA. Now every hitter is practicing, anticipating, expected to, and capable of hitting the long ball.
My opinion : pitch velo is going up around 97-98 on average. Higher pitch velo = higher exit velo. Higher exit velo = further distance and harder to field. Further distance and harder to field = improved batting numbers
One thing I haven’t seen many people mention is the amount of players with 30+ homers, looking back at the last 10 years it’s hovered from around 10-25, this year it’s 51. Something has to be up
Also things to take in consideration: 1. An increased aerodynamic ball reduces drag in the air. This goes for pitching too. It plays into increasing velocity and the ability of adding rotation which dramatically assists with many off-speed pitches such as a slider or curve that's effectiveness is derived with its ability to break. 2. The approach of a hitters in general. Launch angles are a relevant now. I'm not sure about any of you, but growing up I had plenty of hitting coaches advocating attacking the ball at almost a more downward angle to make consistent contact. Golfing a pitch increases swings and misses but obviously betters the odds of getting it over the fence. 3. Strike outs are up as well. Pitchers are at an advantage in that regard. 4. It's the changing of times and this is how players want to play. They're becoming more skilled physically and mentally with better training, conditioning and overall knowledge of the game (especially with the amount of stats nowadays). TLDR; Verlander has a babe wife and will be in the HOF. Chill out homie, it's fair on both ends.
I met Mitch Garved about 2 months ago in Oakland, great dude and is really nice and humble. If y’all know (which you don’t) catcher is my favorite position and Garver let me put on his glove :)
2017 World Series is where I really started to notice the balls but this year is way different because 2019 will break the all time record of home runs (2017) by 400-500 home runs! Around 10 guys will have 40+ home runs or even 50. And multiple teams are breaking their own home run records this year and rookie records are getting ridiculous too
I’m pretty sure he means that more pitchers are throwing harder. Like only a few pitchers threw 100+ a few years ago. Now it seems like everyone other pitcher does.
I think the main reason that pitchers are getting mad is that some of those hits in their minds wouldnt be home runs if they weren't juiced balls, and instead have given up just a hit and not an earned run. It's their career stats they care about imo.
BEASTMODEJR 1001 I disagree. People will start watching baseball more because it is more exciting with more home runs. Every team gets the chance to hit, so why does the ball matter
Gangsta Waffles because too many home runs are boring home, it’s hit the ball and then jog. It’s fun to see plays at the plate when there’s a guy on first and then a double gets hit, you don’t get as much of that if all they do is hit home runs.
Their are more home runs but fortnite acts like that’s all the game is. There are still games without home runs. Most games only have one or two of them.
I like to see pitcher duels but I like to see the game to be a close game. I like the offense involved too. 4-3 game with the braves last night. Watching Shane Greene striking the first two out was cool. But when the nats hit that three run homer, it had me on the edge of my seat. I’m a braves fan 😂
The balls need to be measured inside and out. You could also measure how hard the balls are compared to older balls and how much tighter the yarn is wound by measuring the total length of the yarns, or just the weight of each specific yarn variety. I also wonder if the use of maple bats has increased recently and if the harder denser maple has an effect.
