Check out Daniel Palka w/the ChiSox. He's lefty who **attempts**plays the RF/LF 1st, and DH. Last season was his rookie year, he hit 27 HRs, and was EXTREMELY clutch with limited ABs. Most Sox fans thought 'WOW'! what a great dumpster find. He was in the top 10 in Rookie of the Year voting as well. We're all thinkin we have a lefty who has massive power, Palka was to be the White Sox DH and back up corner outfielder. He came into camp like 15/20 lbs lighter, made the team outta Spring Training. Then... The sophomore slump. He was 0-for God knows what, he finally got his 1st hit. and was sent down. Did well in AAA, got the call... Cant hit again, sent back down and does well again. September rosters expands. Palka has another shot... He's now batting .021 if Im not mistaken? I feel sorry for this dude. But he's not getting paid like Chris Davis. That's just embarrassing

Rawlings even admitted (you can find it on “baseball savings” TH-cam channel) that when collegiate levels changed to lower seam baseballs they were traveling 25 feet further. So when they measured different MLB baseballs and saw the seams were lower in newer MLB balls, it’s definitely obvious. Especially triple A’s giant increase in HR’s just the past year. Great video fuzzy.
I’m all for more offense especially if players don’t need to take drugs, but pitchers definitely need to learn to create movement on low seam baseballs. The guys who know how to do it will definitely continue to shine.

Also things to take in consideration:
    1. An increased aerodynamic ball reduces drag in the air. This goes for pitching too. It plays into increasing velocity and the ability of adding rotation which dramatically assists with many off-speed pitches such as a slider or curve that's effectiveness is derived with its ability to break.
    2. The approach of a hitters in general. Launch angles are a relevant now. I'm not sure about any of you, but growing up I had plenty of hitting coaches advocating attacking the ball at almost a more downward angle to make consistent contact. Golfing a pitch increases swings and misses but obviously betters the odds of getting it over the fence.
    3. Strike outs are up as well. Pitchers are at an advantage in that regard.
    4. It's the changing of times and this is how players want to play. They're becoming more skilled physically and mentally with better training, conditioning and overall knowledge of the game (especially with the amount of stats nowadays).
TLDR; Verlander has a babe wife and will be in the HOF. Chill out homie, it's fair on both ends.

The balls need to be measured inside and out. You could also measure how hard the balls are compared to older balls and how much tighter the yarn is wound by measuring the total length of the yarns, or just the weight of each specific yarn variety. I also wonder if the use of maple bats has increased recently and if the harder denser maple has an effect.

Overall cocaine will hurt performance. There is a small window of it helping but it closes fast. You have to do just enough not to much and be at bat at the right time of it taking its course before you get paranoid or it gives you the s'mores and you lose focus. Cocaine giving you something is an illusion it only takes from you it just fools its users.

Even being a Braves, I love Max Scherzer. He's a great pitcher, he is also a very respectful guy. In an interview of pitchers contending for the Cy Young Award, he talks about how he loves to face Freddie Freeman because it makes him better facing "the best hitter in the game".

I think it’s a combination of all three. Also, players are learning to be more patient. Most of the leading homerun hitters are also hitting for great average.

They are, I had a friend who’s cousin (Will Myers) went straight out of high school to the MLB. He obviously was a beast in high school but when he got to the big leagues he started tanking baseballs like he had never done before. When we were taking BP together his uncle asked him why he didn’t hit like this when he played for him and he said “because the balls are juiced”...

It’s the same with NFL footballs. They are more rubbery and bouncy than Highschool/college footballs, I am a collegiate kicker/punter and so I have practiced with some NFL footballs and it’s insane when you kick them... insanely fun😂

LOL climate change is definitely not the cause but statcast being introduced likely is a factor here. I still think we need more confirmation of the compositional changes. All of these things can be measured reliably (and average drag can also be measured with a pitching machine).
