This dam holds a lot of fish but a lots of small yellow and muddies. We prefer to catch more carp bu a nice venue nevertheless. Do yourself a favour and try the nature reserve not far from there, you will definitely enjoy.
That dam has a lot of muddies. Next time, drive over the dam and before you get to Ruigtevallei Substation, turn left and fish the waters that side. That is part of a deeper part of the dam as its closer to the dam-wall.

I was there with my daughter on that same site mid January 2024.. We caught a lot of fish and excellent to fish directly from campsite
