    John by the time you read this you will have left for home. I seen you pick up that adorable hand made little doll and all I could say was "aw for cute, get it John". 😁I was thinking Kanae will love it. Yes, I know it's two years after the fact but it will be a great reason to go back there. Maybe do a small clip on their handy crafts.

    Even with the video turning blank at the end, this one is one of my favorites. The whole town is picturesque. I loved the Temple, now Coffee Shop. If I ever got to visit Japan, this place would be one of my destinations. You didn't have to talk me into it. It's so beautiful there. Thanks John for sharing this experience.

    Hi John, Another great video which rekindles my love for Japan (I served at Yokota AB when I was in the Air Force)!
    One of the things I love most about Japan is their love and respect for nature. Can you do a video on Shintoism, if you haven't already?
    Thank you, as always, for what you're doing on this channel. It brings me a lot of joy.

    Every time i hear a fellow Ohio boy use surf lingo it cracks me up , there isn't a beach in sight for 400 miles but it was a fad here anyway lol ... great episode John thanks for bringing us along...

    • @onlyinjapanGO
      @onlyinjapanGO  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +UrbCrafter actually I grew up near the New Jersey shore and went to OSU for college but yeah, I didn’t surf there. Haha! When my father dropped me off at the dorm for my first year in Ohio, I remember feeling a little freaked or because the ocean was over 8 hours away! (Why would people live here?) It took a while. Now in Japan, the ocean surrounds us and never more than an hour or so away.

    • @UrbCrafter
      @UrbCrafter 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh ok, I remember you saying a few times you went to OSU i just assumed you were an Ohio boy my mistake , i was actually thinking Jersey Shore as our closest beach as a kid my parents use to take us kids there in the summer, with your lack of an accent i never would have guessed you were from there... i'm just outside the Youngstown area of Ohio which is roughly 400 miles from from Atlantic city... hows the Funazushi out there in the sticks? hear those old mountain towns have the best...

    • @onlyinjapanGO
      @onlyinjapanGO  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mathizsias I recommend you the book Japan, An Attempt At Interpretation by Lafcadio Hearn. It’s very informative about Japanese religions and their roots and also Japanese traditions. Incredibly good! Lafcadio Hearn has written many other great books about Japanese culture and legends if you’re interested too.

    • @Punk3rGirl
      @Punk3rGirl 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ONLY in JAPAN * GO Doesn't sound like a good idea after bear prison and the whale meat incident. You'll be inviting a bunch of angry animal activists. Unless you can be certain that the animals are in good condition because bear prison really bordered on animal abuse.

    lol, if you would show more the scenery instead of your face all the time, your video would be much better. Ask this question, is this a video about the location or your face, then count the total time your face block everything, and the actual time you show the scenery. You have great potential, hope there is improvement

    • @onlyinjapanGO
      @onlyinjapanGO  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +psy Amok it would be worse if I didn’t use an extension rod to help reduce my head size blocking that view. Haha! It’s a good critique. I’m sure I’ll turn the camera around a little more because my face could use a break.
