If a new player wanted a streamer charm they would have had to donate $5 to the streamer or use a twitch prime. When they were on the marketplace for those two days I saw Jynxzi charms selling for the equivalent of about $1 in R6 currency, none of which would have gone to the streamer. Maybe some people would be willing to pay $1 but not $5, in which case the streamer would not be missing out on a sale, but they are missing out on all the people who would have paid $5 if they didn't have the option to pay $1 (to Ubisoft)

I dont understand the problem though, someone had to sub to get the charm so they could sell it, and when I sell that charm away I lose it but the streamer still got the money from my sub, so I don't see how the streamer loses any money
@@probablylex Because the streamer wants the sale of the 2nd person who wants the charm, if there was no charms on R6 marketplace, that 2nd person now has to go buy the charm on twitch for full price and thus gives the streamer more money

@@probablylex It’s not about the money losing it’s just might be upsetting in some cases when you worked hard as a streamer to get your charm into the game and then it comes out on the marketplace and people start selling it. It just kinda ruins the point of streamer charms which by definition are awarded to you if your subbed to a streamer and show your support to them.

I don't think actively available charms should be available on the market. Especially when they are often selling for much less than a twitch sub.
I sold all my strramer charms right before since free credits as i had no "rare" ones. Braction beaulo varsity. Never was a collect em all typa guy as i had twitch prime since around pre2020
think its a win win, streamer gets a passive ad from people on the marketplace that may not know them, people who cant afford it have an option, people who can afford may sub after seeing it that way and are unlikely to unsub because of it.
the only real issue with it is it doesn't seem to be opt in, if they asked I'm sure this would all be taken differently.
i highly doubt anyone will be buying currency to buy a streamer charm (it would cost more then subbing in most cases)

I think what people don't get is that for someone to get the charm, someone else has to lose it (it doesn't increase the overall amount of streamer charms owned by players so that specific charm already made money for the streamer). Besides that ubi doesn't really make money off of marketplace (they get the money the moment someone buys credits, after that what happens to the credits doesn't make them gain or lose money). So in reality r6 market only makes the virtual play money circulate (at the same time voiding 10% of it from the "tax" which is like the only thing i think anyone should have a problem with). All in all i belive content creators getting angry about their charms being tradeable is unreasonable (in particular varsity's tweet at 1:22).

It’s not like streamer charm wasn’t paid for already. The streamer got the money for that charm. It’s just getting transferred to another account. Shouldn’t be a big deal

I think that two charms in particular shouldn't have returned (though I am glad they did cause I yoinked them fast). Thaqil and Kixstar. For Thaqil, his charm was removed because some softies were unhappy with a joke that he made so he lost his charm. For Kixstar, his family deactivated his twitch channel so people would stop subbing to his channel, so it could have been seem a bit rude to his family to just put his charm on the marketplace. Just my opinion though, but at the same time you could call me a hypocrite cause my ass YOINKED THAT SHIT

At first I thought it was not ok to have streamer charms on the market place. Then, as I was writing my comment my thoughts proved otherwise. Streamers' images are property, R6 credits are a form of currency. I own that charm and will sell it if I like.
