I've watched a few of Cronulla's old games and they seem to have trouble: getting the ball from scrums; a big hole around the no 6; fall apart in their 25; chain passing to the wing but wind-up at the end of the tackle count having only travelled across the field. In the 79 Amco cup they seem to have better cohesion and blitzed Brisbane off the field. Much was made of Steve Rogers but most games I've seen on you tube show him missing his kicks. Dane was to me always on form as was there wing men and half back who ran and tackled hard. Kurt seems to have been targeted a lot as such his explosive runs were muted. I hope to see more uploads as I prefer these to todays. Thank you for these uploads.
@@joelmonkley6177 Na a magpie fan, but always enjoyed meeting players of any team. Besides had mad respect for the Sharkie pack from that era. One of the few packs I know Wests ever showed the slightest amount of respect too.
@@glenchapman3899 I remember Bruce Gibbs DAllas a Boyd they were hard forwards even that center Goodwin was a handful thought he went all right in this game magpies were real working class team no frills but hard the shark pack was hard this game to me is way more phyy than today I believe could be wrong I know the players are fitter bigger but there not as rugged as back in the 70s 80s

Rex: " Sorenson has got him by the jumper and cracks him like a whip" wonderful stuff Rex.
Plenty tough having to stick 80 minutes of League into 50 minutes! Great Football thanx for upload !!🦘🇦🇺☮️
Two very good teams in their day.
I just realized there is at least three players no longer with us. Steve Rogers, Wayne Buckley and of course Dallas :(
Was thinking that too.
Also, Rick Bourke and Greg Pierce and maybe others.
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Sorenson bros so much muscle up front
Met Kurt (The little one) before this game. The man was an absolute mountain.
