As US you always must to do the journey 2 times, first i think you find thye sea... and in the second time you find the corridor what quest ask to you to find
What happened with the Oregon Trail is you found the Great Salt Lake. It's a different bonus but not the one you need to get Oregon/Washington/etc. There's a few different outcomes of mapping the Western Frontier.
I have never gotten Oregon first it is always Great Salt first Oregon second for me. So much that I have no idea what the other options are. Probably around 500 hours lol
@@baked2522probably around 1000 hours, nearly always get Oregon trail on the second expedition. In 1 single expedition #1 I got something other than Great Salt Lake. Seems almost scripted to complete on the 2nd go around
18:20 Nitroglycerin is a liquid that easily explodes and is hard to handle safely and with precision, while dynamite is solid, stable and mostly explodes when the fuse runs out. Liquid nitroglycerin really wasn't that useful as a precision mining tool, and mining has always been a dangerous profession.
They should just make the economy of scale give +1% for each building level including the first one, but starting from the second one if they absolutely don't want to have it for single buildings. It's annoying to have to build a round number +1 each time to optimize throughput...
I think for the Oregon Trail event, the first success you had was finding the Great Salt Lakes, rather than the Oregon Trail. I think the Western Frontier decision has three or so potential outcomes and finding the Oregon Trail is only one of them.
the map the american froneir has like 3-4 diff possible outcomes (I'm 90% it's random which you get), the first one you got was mapping the great salt lake, you wanted the oregon trail

There are several possible outcomes for Mapping the Western Frontier. The decision with the Brits required finding the Oregon Trail, while you found Salt Lake. You just got unlucky, but somebody else was mapping at the same time, so the UK sent you the offer anyway
Nitroglycerin had a big stability problem thats what pushed for dynamite's creation. Its nitroglycerin with some other stuff to stabalize it and minimize accidental detonation
I think Paradox may have successfully made the war mechanics even worse. They just added more features but didn't really do anything about the fundamental design issues.

I would argue that making the 3 healthcare policies more distinct than a simple upgrade is more important. Otherwise that just throws you into a one-sided replay loop of the exact same strategies and tactics (or political ideologies) regardless of what nation you play. That makes the game more uninteresting then the 75th MP tech rush video in a row by stellaris players.
1. You had to deal with civil war early and won it (not avoid) 2. In 10 years afroamericans would be accepted instead of dixies 3. All of black Africa (south to Sahara) is incorporating in 5 years upd. You need 2 expeditions for Oregon path
It's really not if you just jump into it. Takes way less time to understand than EU4. Don't be afraid to make some mistakes and restart the first few times. But after a couple runs you get the hang of it. Might not be playing "optimally" but it's still fun.
@@connorsterrettagreed. people get very scared from all the menus but they’re genuinely all laid out and explained very well. Every icon having extra info when hovering it is really helpful as well. @@connorsterrett I'm still struggling after a lot of runs, the game doesn't really tell you how it should be played, only how mechanics work. The videos on it aren't too different. Someone that's experienced EU4 like you would have a breeze with Vic 3.
There is actually an easy way to get rid of slavery in just the first year of the game, try to start a war with Britain usually through Canada and they usually make one of there war demands to be abolishing slavery usually along with a humiliation demand as well. And once the war starts you can capitulate right when it starts and if you’re willing to tolerate the humiliation you can instantly remove slavery from British demands. So congrats you prevented the slavery effort ever happening. You can also end the trial of tears event by just simply annexing the Indian territory, you will no longer get any events from that.
The Oregon dispute is a little misleading. There are essentially two stages. If you notice when you finished it the first time it says you reached the great salt lake which is in Utah, not the pacific coast. You then need to do it a second time to go all the way to the Oregon coast. Which is what the journal entry is actually referring to, the second expedition to the coast not the first expedition to the half way point.
There are 2 different outcomes with the Oregon trail it’s a 50/50 if you discover it or not. It’s very annoying when I play as America I hate doing this journal entry it’s very frustrating and annoying

Ludi! Is it not more efficient to concentrate all of your construction places into the place where you’re building the most since you’ll stack construction efficiency?
Russia sucks a lot for America because of Alaska. Because they own Alaska, they get a free Interest in everything in the Pacific coast Region, which stretches down through BC, Washington, Oregon, and I think into California. Because of that they tend to get involved in wars in Mexico/Pacific Coast, even if they don't always send troops. It's totally a-historical and I despise it, but there's nothing to be done without changing how aggression and Interests work (which Paradox is slowly doing). Like historically there was maybe a twenty thousand Russians in Alaska and they were mostly there to fish and trade for furs and the colony was mostly a money loss process because it didn't have anything (they knew of) that was valuable and couldn't be gotten in Siberia as it is. The issue with interest is that a lot of nations have free interests due to colonies/incorporated states and others have so many interetsts they just toss them anywhere. And once you get an interest in a region, the AI tends to get hyper involved in wars. Also some of the more recent patches have made the AI over value things like Obligations from minor nations, so a longtime ally will stab you int he back over some tiny province in Africa that offered them a Obligation (that the Ally can't even use due to access limits).
I like how some americans are like: " I don't want any of them immigrants coming here taking my jobs and telling me to wash my hands", but also: "we need some of those hardworking lads outside the border to do the work I don't want to"
