Wow this frame is such an insanely good deal. I bought an aliexpress clone of the Geprc mk5 for $35 but if I knew this existed I would have 100% bought this. It also has so many more features and accessories as well. It seems speedybee is one of the few manufactures that actually care about keeping prices down like pandemic levels. Everyone else is trying to see how much money they can get from consumers. Their FCs are cheap and good, their analog receiver is well priced, and now their frame is great and undercuts most of the competition by 2x.
Funny enough because that whole discourse is so political and propaganda ridden you can very easily make the argument that it's better. Most recycling is bull and a box eats 1000s of those bags in energy to make.
It's always possible they woulda sent the bog on a plastic bag. I think everything should be shipped in the old Sun chips biodegradable bag. It would produce 95 decibels just picking it up. Might deter some porch pirates
The weird overlapping plates in the back are probably like this to route the power cable through there. I'm guessing that that is the only logical explanation.
It seems like good upgrade from my current 5" mark 4 frame, i really like thicker arms and aluminium cage at front. I hope someone will check resonance performance of this frame before i decide to pull the trigger on new frame.
I saw in another video the small space in the back is for your receiver and the little clear window on the bottom is so you can see the led on the receiver
I love seeing innovation and new ideas brought to market, but I sure hope someone always still makes just a plain, simple, old school carbon frame forever lol
@MadRC, I just ordered a new frame from @PattyFlips Proto FPV, the Proto 5 "Cinematic Racer"... Not sure if you have seen it but it is the same concept as the 2Raw AB but a solid single baseplate rather than trellis, so in other ways the complete opposite. Do you fancy doing an unboxing/intro before I crowbar it full of magic smoke generator's and use it to create bando's? If you let me know today (Wed) I will tell PattyFlips to wait out and you can send a PO box/Postal addy direct to him and then forward it to me when done?
This is such a weird frame, it's almost like they wanted to add weight lol, looks easy enough to build though. I'm presuming the X pattern has symmetrical arms, where any arm can fit in any slot. Personally it will take a lot to get me off the Armattan Beaver, easy build, durable, protects the camera well plus Armattan warranty.
There are different versions of the rear mount piece, for different combinations of antennas, battery connector, and gps. If it doesn't come with what you need, you can print or order the right version
Buying spare parts for an old frame is pointless as a new frame can cost under £20 ,so just buy 2 and use one as a spare. Ideally where all 4 arms are identical.
Ian, you have tools to measure RF outputs, electronic screw drivers, weird oscilloscops everywhere in the room but you unseal plastic pouch with your teeth 😂😂..
I'm interested in building a drone for when i get my moon light kit, I've never flown a deadcat, is there really any advantage to a true X vs deadcat if your not going to run a gopro? Seems like you can just move the battery for best cg... I want the best flying possible just using the moonlight camera footage, there will never be a GoPro on it, cuz I'm not a pro pilot and just share what i do with my friends and family for fun and the moonlight should be good enough for me... Right now i just fly my rc5o on my Demibots and old alien, but i have a qav-s with a Avatar pro that i rip with no action cam, I'm not super impressed with that frame being held together by aluminum standoffs instead of press nuts, it's retarded, the screws just pull out of the aluminum.... Just thought this could be a contender, was also thinking apex evo or Proto5...
True x due to symmetry have got slightly better vibration performance, and there are some slight advantages to this design during acro flights. I would just go for deadcat in your case becouse I really think fpv is more enjoyable without props obstructing your view.
@@GaweNowakowski thank you, i never thought about that.. makes sense though, i thought the dead cat just flew a little different do to CG and maybe just feels different with your POV being out front farther... But i see what your saying, the rear motors vibration is going to be different then the front so the Fc will have trouble telling the difference making it harder to tune... (Stupid layman's terms) i never thought about that... Maybe i will just stick with a true X and do a TPU front camera pod proto5 style... I just really can't afford a proto5... But damn it looks so good...
@@DigitalCruzer The longer arms in dc will be oscillating at lower frequency so filters will have higher delay, but difference is not really that high well designed dc frame could be better than poorly designed x frame.

I wouldn’t call moving from (recyclable) cardboard boxes to a single use plastic padded bag “saving the environment” LOL
Haha you liked my dig lol

Nice one with your 50 k Mad ××

do you think the oroginal dji air unit would fit in the frame? and the og dji cam ?
I’m building the SpeedyBee Mario Fold 8 LR..
5” propellers resting on motor look so tiny! lol

Thank you, Just received one...😀... a bit tricky to align the small frame parts in the middle, but i love it..

Great review, Ian! Thanks! 😃
But guess what... My name is Mario. Mario Cesar. 😬
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Great video Ian.
The plastic see through piece is so you can see your receiver lights. The slide in tpu piece is where you can put your receiver.
Haha I missed that
Love your channel 👍
That’s what I did on a Flyfish Volador frame. They have that same setup in the rear with the TPU insert.
It looks like they took some design cues from flyfishrc and five33. I just used the overlapping arms on my last two frame designs.

my frame comes in the mail today, bought it for some analog parts i have that i can scrap together

Does this frame support the V1 HDzero freestyle vTx? Got that wide boy with my goggles, and have yet not found a frame which fits it.
Great price and good looking frame. I'm just not sure how the arms will hold up in a light crash even though they are thick, they appear very skinny
Thank you Ian. Really nice review.
1 request if I may. What is the weight of assembled frame like it was on your bench?
Is there enough space for the Foxeer Reaper Extreme on this frame?
It actually seems like a decent frame for the price surprisingly.
It should have had a gps mount included in the rear moulding?

damn bro did you get a new camera? looks sharp!
No, I got the new Rattel pro from CaddX but nothing from Runcam
i meant the one your talking to but someone pointed out i always watch your live streams so of course this video looks sharper haha @@MadRC
@@BOTGRINDER hahahaha no but I have moved the camera a little closer. It was probably also in focus for once lol
Does this frame have gps support stl file?
very cool frame and only 39 dollar with free shipping,
Ngl still waiting to see the tony5 fly !
Is it suitable with 4s?
Free frame is a good frame 👍

Mine had a ton of missing crap. Not a bargain :). Missing screws, plus non labeled screws make builds suck.
Part availability is what keeps me from buying this one
Great information, good vision but terrible upward inflection in commentary, especially with ear buds in.
