Thanks for the info and thanks for the invite. Very inspiring videos. I havent had a motorcycle license or a bike in over 10 years. I have found myself pretending Im riding again by watching your vids. Keep up the good work.
Man I'm late to the party! Geez I'm glad you'd pick that stuff up for me... and bring gas, and help me fix the bike, and share your food and water, and pack my stuff. Dude the KLR is king on long trails like that... I missed it so bad on this ride! Now, though... I think I'd do just find thanks to you and MrDuhfactor :) I like turtles!
Yes you must have a dual sport. You can take another trail from Mesquite I think that joins up on the same trail we rode. I think it meets up at the Mt Trumball Schoolhouse but I'm not sure. I say buy a dual sport then meet ride with us down to the Grand Canyon next spring.
As you can tell I'm no videographer by any means, I just like to share a few clips from some of our rides here in Utah. The best part, as you know, is being in the saddle position and seeing, smelling and absorbing all of the sights, sounds and fresh air in person. You can get well maintained, good conditioned used bikes for $1,500+. Kawasaki KLR 650's and Suzuki DRZ's are highly recommended in my book. Affordable great bikes that love to ride hard and be put away wet. Still have an itch?
By the way everybody, Rojo's wife is possibly the coolest woman on the planet. Next birthday we're all going to celebrate somehow for letting him ride on her special day.
I'm sure it could handle the dirt road that we took. I'm not sure how the VStrom handles off road but the street tires will definitely slow you down. Out on the flats we were riding 60-70 mph...I don't know about you but I'd be a little scared to ride that fast with street tires on loose gravel. You should be able to pull it off just might have to plan on a longer ride.
After years of riding with guys that had small gas tanks, I said no more! They sell BiG TANKS for a reason! I found one on C/L for a Suz 400, for $150. step -up & get one . Like your videos, hope to get down there this year!! Thanks!
Riding in Utah is on my bucket list but it will take decades for me to get there, it's quite a challenge to get a visa and afford the plane ticket when you're polish like me, but maybe someday...
Cool series man. I'll totally have to ride it someday. Where did you pick that trail up at from ST. George? I up in Iron County, but would be an easy trip from there too.
The bike was bouncing up and down so bad because the suspension sucked so bad which caused the rack bolts to come loose every 2 minutes and with the weight of the 2 gas cans it make the rack slam up and down until the gas cans flipped up side down. Now you understand why we stole his bike. Fix the poopy suspension, build a sweet rack and wahlah....we call it 'superior' (Spanish accent). You riding with us next year?
